Christmas arrives at the cottage! To pre-empt the 'longer videos please!' comments - I lost two days due to a broken camera this week (turns out you can only drop them so many times before they die) - but thank you to everyone who's bought me a virtual coffee over the last couple of months - I saved up all those coffees and bought a replacement camera so we are back in business! You can find me on instagram instagram.com/rewildingjude/ If you'd like to support this channel (I will try harder to stop knocking my camera over) - you can donate the cost of a coffee, right here: buymeacoffee.com/rewildingjude There will be a patreon in the new year - I'm working on it at the moment! 🎄❄
All seven of Sven’s brain cells must be happy to be somewhere so loving and safe. He’s beautiful. Thank you for another wonderful glimpse of your world. It was such a treat.
I always manage to miss any programmes I want so I haven’t had a tv for a few years. Friends, you tube (yours of course) Netflix, books. I don’t miss actual tv one bit.
The mince tarts look so delish! I really love the star with the orange slice in the center. I tried an Xmas tree in the past, but the kitties made short work of it. Also I don't have alot of space. So I happened across an A frame plant stand and built it. It houses my ceramic tree collection. I refer to it as my alternative tree 😊. Money Christmas. 👍🎅😽🇨🇦
I've been waiting all week for this video! At 65, I've embarked on a similar quest. Doing a shed conversion on my own land. It's my final 'senior project'. 😂 You give me much encouragement & at the same time, peace of mind. Thank you so much!! ❤
I’d not be without my two rescue cats (brothers). Seeing your little man respond to you says how lovely a character you are. Happy Christmas my lovely xx
I am actually 59 year old nurse who retired last year after 40 years. Im an anti social being who fell in love with rural Scotland years ago.. I so love your outlook on life and the discovery of what you are capable of. I wish you a great Christmas and can't wait to see the vlogs you do next year..❤
What sheer delight You Are, Jude! Beautiful wreath & star, along with the other decorations you created. I so enjoyed your humor & homemaking skills. Simply Splendid - Thank You! 😘🫂
Hi Jude. I’m a 67 YO granny from Texas and I have been watching your TH-cam channel for a few weeks now. I think you’re adorable and I so admire your work ethic, your joy and your courage to try anything once! Your parents would be so very proud of the life you’re carving out for yourself there in the beautiful Scottish countryside. I was surprised (sorry!😅) at how wonderful your Christmas wreath turned out and your orange garland and willow star are OUTSTANDING! Bravo! Please continue being your joyful, creative self. The world needs more souls as beautiful as yours. God bless and a very Merry 🎄Christmas to you and to Sven. ❤
Oh your wreath is simply perfect. I love the coziness of your cottage. I love your life Jude and am so happy for you! Thank you for sharing it with us!!! 💜💜💜
Love how your life in rural Scotland is coming together. I envy your energy and willingness to give it a go. Dreams are becoming reality. Be ever blessed.
Cosying up the house with your Christmas touches helps with the long nights. FYI when planting your raised beds, if it goes together, it grows together, ie. Tomatoes, basil and garlic. Also, I feel planting your raspberry canes in the raised bed is wasting useful space for other crops and the berries will grow well like hedging. Just a thought.
I was planning on using the raspberries for a hedge / fence - the only reason I went for putting them in a bed - was because I read that they might need protecting from the birds - and given how little time it took for the three big wild cherry trees to be completely stripped of cherries, I thought I’d put them in a bed in case I needed to net them later. Might move them next year if the birds aren’t an issue though!
Only 12 mins posted and over 1,000 views ! I just love your videos as whatever goes wrong you face it with a smile and a funny comment! Your vids are relaxing to watch and the music is calming …. You should be so proud of everything you have achieved at the cottage ! ❤
Hey Jude, Loved the Willow Star with the orange slice! Thank you for sharing these decorating features of olde! Kitty seems much more at home and happy. Lovely ~
Anything can be a wreath if you commit...lol. I bought a flimsy plastic evergreen wreath from the Dollar Store, along with a prelit evergreen garland that had little berries and frosted limbs, and a big gold ribbon. I wrapped the little wreath with the garland, secured with twisted paper clips and put the ribbon on. It's been my front door Christmas wreath for 3 years now. 😂😂😂😂
Watching and loving your creations from Minneapolis, Minnesota where you are helping me get in the spirit. I always think about how pleased your parents would be to know how you’re doing. You are my kids’ age so I feel like a fond parent watching you! ❤
You crack me up with your baking skills🤣😂. The wreath is great looking, and taking it from the land is cool ( pruning in the process) you could probably make them next year for sale.
Your making the mince pies made me feel melancholy for you; I could just hear your mum chiding you about your making them and the two of you laughing together. And then you put out your parents decorations, and you're knitting and I lost it and cried loads. I'm having my own melancholy season this year, so perhaps I was just primed and needing a good cry. How neat your willow work is! It will be something for you to do during the winter when it's too chilly to go out, but you'll have something useful in the spring to use!
Loving the Christmas decorations, you could add some of the dried orange slices to your wreath. Even looks as though he has settled in beautifully now.
I am reminded of making salt dough angels tree ornaments (wheat flour, lots of salt, water) - painted with watercolors, decorative textures done with a fork.
14:46 For your willow plantings, make sure you choose the naturally wettest area that is NOT near any of your water/well or sewer/septic lines. They need lots of water and the roots will gravitate toward those areas. ❤ I was lucky enough to have a willow near my house with a pond/ditch nearby, so the roots didn’t invade my house.
Okay, I discovered you last night during a bout of poor-health-induced insomnia, binge-watched your magical channel until dawn, subscribed, and now I want to be your old-lady auntie from the states. I'm totally hooked!
Jude, you’ve made your home so beautiful and inviting! All your ingenious ideas for home-sourced crafts and decorations are inspiring! Watching your vids is the best way to start my Sunday.bCan’t wait to see what you do next. Cheers from Nevada! ❤❤
I love the hand-made decorations - the wreath looks lovely! Glad to see that Sven is happy and has settled in well. I’m sure it means so much to have some of your mum and dad’s decorations out and feel that they are with you in spirit, which I’m sure they are.
God love you untangling all them lights..You're doing a great job with your wee house and garden..You fair cheer up my Sunday nights..I hope you have the best Christmas and a very happy New year..xxx
Thank you for making me laugh with your Christmas lights! Your vlogs are great. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones 🐱🎄🎁🎄and all the friendly people here ❤❤❤
Your parents would be so proud of you. You have a “stick to itness” that is more rare these days than ever. Such a man of many talents. Merry Christmas!
The holidays can always be the hardest when we have lost loved ones. Putting my grandmas decorations up has given me a sense of happiness this year! I hope you have a wonderful holiday Jude! ❤
Everything is looking lovely and festive, great job on the wreath and willow star 🎄. Sven obviously loves you , he’s shredding your knees for you.❤️ It’s nice you’ve made friends with the neighbours, it can get hard living alone in rural winters, I know I’m quite isolated these days. Take care, have a lovely week ahead and then you’re going to visit your friends so that’s nice to look forward to. 🥰🎄🙋🏼♀️ 17:40
Like many of us in this country i spent a portion of my life living in a house with a fire place i found this weeks video surprisingly relaxing especially the craft segment and the lighting of a fire in the grate . Thank you. ❤
I love watching you create your new life week by week. The cottage is looking so cosy. Your wreath is beautiful, nature always provides what you need. An evening in front of the fire knitting is my kind of lifestyle too. Merry Christmas xxx
Hi Jude, What a lovely wreath! And the star look sensational! You’re so talented! I put my little ceramic tree up this year. I can’t have a real tree due to allergies. ☹️ I love your orange-slice garland! Never mind those mince tarts. Put some in a bowl and pour custard over the top. That, and a coffee/tea! Perfect! Sven looked so cute with his tongue out! Such a nice, feline friend! 🐈 ❤️🙏🏻😊🌧❄️🧊🇨🇦
Hello! I`m so glad every time you upload a new video :) I really like your lifestyle of self-reliance ang simpicity! You inspire me! (and also you will be one of those who will survive the "shtf" when that comes around..)
Beautiful wreath that’s the way my children when they were little made our own Christmas decorations and went out in the woods and cut us a little tree down
Thanks Jude it is so relaxing watching you each week.It takes me back to childhood, I was brought up in a forestry commission cottage not Scotland but in Surrey.x
Absolutely love your deccies Jude. All ours are old that come out year after year and a full of memories. Probably classed as vintage a bit like me😉No new Christmas decor year after year for us. I love that you made the star and very inventive the dried oranges, might have to try that and the wreath. Kitty cuddles are the best😻 it’s how they taste Jude not what they look like, I bet they were bloomin lovely.🙏❤️😻

A cat, a ball of yarn, and a fire - how cozy!
All seven of Sven’s brain cells must be happy to be somewhere so loving and safe. He’s beautiful. Thank you for another wonderful glimpse of your world. It was such a treat.
I haven't had television in ten years, and it has allowed me to maintain my sanity. That, books, and TH-cam!
Broken gutters...oh, the joys of home ownership!
Christmas memories. None better.
Your crafting skills are really admirable!

Love how your life in rural Scotland is coming together. I envy your energy and willingness to give it a go. Dreams are becoming reality. Be ever blessed.
There are some great wall mounted stick Christmas trees all home made. Great for when you lack space . The star looks great. All the best.
I think your wreath is beautiful. And also your star. Sven looks so happy. Great video Jude.
Thanks for today's visit. For many years I lived where I could forage for Christmas decorations . It really is so satisfying, isn't it.
It’s so satisfying!! There was ivy in my last garden - but not much else!
👏👏👏👏my favourite part of Sunday , nice cup of tea and feet up to watch Jude x🎄🐝🎅

Great present to yourself. No dish! The view down your garden to the new raised beds, when you were dismantling the dish, is beautiful.

Loving the Christmas decorations, you could add some of the dried orange slices to your wreath. Even looks as though he has settled in beautifully now.
My favourite part was seeing you take an armful of festive foliage to the cottage, gave me the Christmas feels. ❤
I loved your wreath and star! And happy to see Sven getting loved.
I am ' burnt out' at the moment. Your video has chilled me. An early Xmas gift to us all. Fabulous job on the wreath. X
What a grand wreath and decorations.
Decorating, baking, crafting and gazing at Santa probably bring memories to all of us. Thanks.
I am reminded of making salt dough angels tree ornaments (wheat flour, lots of salt, water) - painted with watercolors, decorative textures done with a fork.
The wreath looks perfect! And you can add another skill learned to your list! And willow weaving!

Jude reminds me so much of Victoria Wood in the way lines are delivered with a smile and a downward glance, anyone agree?
I mean, I’m taking that as a serious compliment!
The wreath is so good and really festive.
Oh what a lovely scene. Love to be you right now. So jealous. Hope when we move to Scotland we have the same atmosphere. X
Thank you , as always for sharing. Xx ❤❤❤
