Formal uses positioning like snipedown. It's like when snipe said he didn't have the best aim he just used positioning and everyone called him a liar lol but it's true. He makes YOU walk into his reticule. He predicts where you're spawning/pushing/holding, positions himself accordingly to get you to do all the work for him. It's a masterclass on predicting enemy movements and thoughts.
Except formal has godlike aim
Best caster. One of the greatest Halo content creators. Nothing but pure passion, you can tell these things
Formal has the smoothest POV in the game. He makes it look effortlesss.

I really and truly hope that you get a chance to return to the desk and booth in the future Alex. When they feel like you did right by them, and you continue doing right by yourself, you deserve to get back in the booth with Tony and give Andy/Onset their run for their money. I'm a COD fan first and foremost and your analysis is spot on. Referring to COD and watching him play it for years, FormaLs aim and positioning was always king. Its why he was always considered to have the straightest (best) shot. He never missed, everything is SO clean. He could happily ego chall people because he had far more trust in his centering and shot than others

This dude's aim is incredible, he makes minimal adjustments that look so easy to do and yet they're very difficult to accomplish, especially in big events like the ones he plays, anyone who wishes to improve their accuracy should try to emulate his approach because it's one of the best if not the best.
P.s.: Royal2 next?, the man's been a beast in Infinite (e.g. he seems to always be a pain in the ass against C9), I dare say that he has single-handedly kept Sen alive in many matches in many series'.
I agree completely royal2 is definitely was sens highest performer also he is very hype to watch. His play against formal when formal had sword camo was one of the craziest moments all year in hcs
7:30 that's correct, when shooting real guns it is taught to lead your target transitions with your eyes first, then bring the rifle up to meet the target. The key is leading the transition with your eyes first. So you are 100% correct man

Optc made a video of them playing COD where they have some sort of thing that highlights where each player is looking at while they play. Formal was apart of that video.
Yeah I love how you explain it. Most of these pros are hella smooth on the sticks. He is not pegging the stick to the outer rim but having full control over it at all times

Formal is a beast and watching his twitch stream while he was trying to find a team was epic he was grinding hard to get that team, thought sen was gonna go for him and when optic got him you knew that team was a winning team with formal bringing that ice

I don’t even wanna say when he pops off because he’s so freaking consistent but there are moments when he just shuts down a team. When he imposes his will, it is devastating.
This came out at the perfect time. I really need to TRY to implement his form to try and increase my aim.
Watching formal play AW back in 2014 was somethings else, it was a great transition from halo which was a lot of jetpack and jumping around to AW.
I wouldn't mind seeing some breakdowns of Pznguin's plays. I wonder if Formal has a very good spatial awareness or visualization of the map that helps him find his cursor placement. However, all these things I feel one has to figure it out on their own.

@@MakinaMakinaMakina I can see that, but it seems to me Penguin is particularly good at objectives. Maybe that is harder to break down. Then again, I think Renegade is good at objectives for a main slayer. I felt C9's earlier dominance was partly due to how well-rounded the C9 players were to the point that one of them was usually able to do something clutch when it was needed. I could be wrong, there's a reason I go around looking for tutorials.
Please review APGs next, guy never gets the spot light but is such an essential part of the team. Break down his Obj and how his play style changes from Obj to slayer game types.
What also helps formaL win is his consistency. His disciplined practice to perfect his fundamentals is makes him consistent. Every game is played the same way. No awkward movements, no gray area mistakes….
I’ve been noticing pro players are getting crazy good at managing the blast radius of grenades by anticipating geometry and trajectory of the granade. Ex at 10:40 pushing past the grenade. Also love your term “compromised animations” interesting
For the eye placement concept, vision in motorsports could help explain it if that's something you're interested in. When driving fast, you're looking quite far ahead, at the exit of a corner before hitting the apex.

Is there a way you could track eye movement while someone is playing to elaborate on the eye movement?
I've said throughout the life of Infinite that if you want to learn how to play Halo 'correctly' there's no better player to watch than Formal. It's like he never makes a bad decision.
Really hoping you can teach me to move my reticle like formal by the end of this.

So I know this doesn't fully explain the eye reticle correlation but to sum it up, would you say don't stare at your reticle, but rather look where you want to shoot?

4v4 matchmaking I could put down some numbers (depending on the teams) but in a 1v1 I’d get bodied lmao 😆

I noticed a lot of times he won't even strafe. He'll literally stop moving and just aim. Only player I know that does that

Most of that gameplay comes from quiting to abuse the broken sbmm and get paired with noobs and discord premade lobbies.

@@Daynger_Fox I'm sorry for that, but during the S1, Mint Blitz was reported to be on of the top quiters, with a total of 120 quits. After that information was discovered, he turned his profile private, in Halo Tracker. I'm not saying He's bad, but most of those plays come from that practice. There's Reddits threads talking about it. He always denies that information.

Shyway, gotta disagree with your analysis on Formal being a “disciplined” player. If anything i would consider him more of a “tank” player. High damage output but also usually most damage input. High shots fired and top assister as well.
If anything Trippy is the anchor or more “disciplined” player on OpTic.
Correct. While Formal often has top damage he typically takes the most damage as well. Formal said when he first started playing again he wasn't really valuing his life and a lot of his damage output was "useless" damage, but he's since improved in both areas. That's part of why OpTic has improved so much. Formal provides the damage and map presence that Ola was unable to. He really opens up the map for the others to shine
Videos like this a little depressing. You don't see ppl standing still crouching and living 3 or 4 more shots. Playing on Lan is like an entirely different game

I used play formal often in Reach he would literally place his reticle at the sky bc everyone jumps were so predictable.
