The caltrax do not lower the vehicle. I had the springs already. I just repainted them but I think it lowers it about 4 in and maybe that's with shackles too. I don't remember
I have a 98 c1500 I want to do a 3/4 drop with a belltech lowering kit and use the caltrac system as well. Should I just get a 3” drop for the front and get this leafs you got. Says it’s a 4” drop with them leafs.
I want to say my front Springs were advertised as a 2 inch drop and I don't use the isolators I also have shackles that give it at least another inch and a half in the back and this is what I get I don't understand it but it works
I just ordered my caltracs looking forward to installing them the week after Thanksgiving. How long it take you to do this? I dont have an arbor press so going the old fashioned way with getting the bushings out
I’ve been wanting to lower my truck more on the rear I have a flip kit put me at 6” then I put a lowering shackle 2” total of 8” I want 4 more inches of lowering but I don’t wanna do the hanger and blocks. So my question is what are these 4” lowering springs different from stock ? Are they longer is that how I get 4 more inches or are they thinner I don’t get it?
I'd give them a thumbs up just don't load anything heavy they will bend I've loaded concrete, gravel and dirt driving on straight frame to axle and if it wasn't for the pictures I looked at recently I wouldn't have even realized the bottom spring was bent from all of those loads it still seems to drive the same
Hey man I know this video is about a year old but did you have any issues before the lowering leafs? I had some wheel hop but after I used BT leafs on mine it became even worse
To all watching. Please use either copper, or aluminum anti-seize on these helm joint bolts. You can thank me later.
How's the ride with the lowering leaf springs? Rough ride. Thanks in advance
For the Caltrac do you need specific leaf springs?
@@edwinhernandez5132 no it would actually go easier with stock leaf springs. The aftermarket leaf springs have a different bushing size
awesome build man. How much lower did your truck get after the cal tracs?

Considering you got to burn the bushings out you could do it in a couple hours easy
Hey bro bad ass truck, I wanted to ask, how do you not have a problem with pinion angle and what does this caltrac system do?
I actually might have a problem with pinion angle. I have a vibration on the freeway.
The caltrax will help reduce wheel hop that the thin pack leaf springs make possible.
So you leave the factory hangers on?
Yes, however I installed lowering hangers a while ago
@@GibsonGarage thanks for the info
@@GibsonGaragedid you have any issues installing the beltech hanger with the caltracs? or did you have to use factory
@@adamcukrovani6131 no issues but I think I got them off the shelf at AutoZone

It's a shorter thinner spring pack you won't be able to haul anything heavy in the bed anymore
@@GibsonGarage thanks for the reply back was trying to see if anyone had a video review on them

Thanks!

No, I don't have any wheel up. You might need new shocks or better socks
@GibsonGarage what shocks do you run I have the bilstein 5100s and they aren't really any better than rough country
