"you're not going to be able to make a set as cheap as you can buy them" I don't know how many times I've heard that in my life!! It gets old! For me, it's not always about "saving money", but more the learning experience and being able to say "I made it myself"!! That being said, most of the things I've built myself have turned out as good or better then the more expensive store bought items, but I've also saved a bunch of money on top of it!! Great video!!
Have you have any trouble getting enough rear brake with the stock drums in the s10 where you could get up on the converter and not just spin the tires?
hey watched a few of your videos now n i know you wont make these for anyone but was wondering if you provide measurement of the swedged bar and maybe a parts list, trying to do this for my daughters truck im building on a budget, thanks for the videos to really helping with figuring out what i need to spend money on off the bat
Thank you so much for doing this video👍,I have no budget whatsoever and I was trying to work out how to make exactly what you've done and luckily this will make it possible🙏bloody legend mate😉 Cheers from Australia🙋♂️
I was thinking the same kind of. What would make these cal-trac type set ups better than say a “3 link” type? Build a “v” shape bar weld a bracket near the diff with 2 mounting points 6-8 in apart and then 1 mounting point to a cross member at the distance of the lead spring front bolt? If that makes sense to anyone reading. Basically a solid way to keep the axle from “wrapping” but less material and joints and hardware??
@@tombethervin5725 Thats awesome! my advise is to take it one step at a time and dont get caught up on what you think you need versus what you actually need. A fellow racer who races a fuel altered told me they had the most fun back when they raced a 12 sec car....

getting the old bushings out easiest way i found is to just burn them out using a torch
What length is the Swedge bar

Thank you! Glad I could help!
I'm building my own traction bars like welding the bracket the the rear end and running an adjustable 2 link
I’d love to see them!
@@ordinaryguygarage3667 I'm still kind of designing them Im looking around for a CNc machine to make the brackets to the frame and to the rear end

@@robsgotit1 not shure I ind up selling that truck before I could finish the bars
The video you took is fantastic! Do you accept sponsor products?
Could you confirm what Diameter and material recomend for Tube
Thanks man. I'm using slapper bars right now doesnt seem to be working very good. Did you try different angles?
I'm going to build my own aswell. Thanks for the info
The aluminum bushing in the front, what diameter and length are those?
Awesome video, thank you so much for sharing.
Love your channel amazing just found it. Very interesting watch
Thank you!
Great video man. I really want to try this.
Any relation of the 2.25” axle bracket drop to the front bracket 4” eye to eye spacing?
Once I start racing my 6 second Camaro I will definitely have to get some Scott tracks for some spars to keep in the trailer😂.
In 3 years I will be
That's awesome!... I bet racing a 6 second car wont feel much faster then racing a 7.90 dragster....
My son says his 8.90 car feels like riding a rocket!
@@ordinaryguygarage3667 haha yeah.. he’s getting up there, a blink of an eye he will be in 7.90 and having a blast😂.
lol..ok
I have a 96 somnom with a 350 stroker and I have trackion bars and still have wheel hop. How do I stop it before it fucks up my 411 diff.
What type of traction bar are you using?
Great video
Thank you!
Whats summit part number for Fit S10 with Ford 8.8 diff? Thanks from México
No part number…. I made it
Would you make another?
By the chance you have the dimensions from the triangles please (front)
I have another video I just posted about a week or so ago that goes over the dimensions I used and why..

What length swede bars did you use
I think they are 18” but, your best bet is to measure what you’d need based on how you make your brackets
How long were the bars ? Thank you
The bars are 23”. I believe I bought 24” and trimmed them to fit
@@ordinaryguygarage3667 awesome thank you
What size tires do you run all the way around?
28/10.5/15 slicks and 165/80/15 in the front

I’m planning a wood stove for the new shop… I’m too old to be out here freezing!

Caltracs are indeed comedically overpriced.
Their is no way 4 3/4 heims is 2 Sweg bars and a set if bushings cost 100.00 unless this video was made in 1950!
