I Caught This Barramundi From the Weirdest Spot | Singapore Fishing 🇸🇬

  • My last fishing session in Singapore was back at the same spot I had my first session, Pulau Ubin. The goal was to catch a couple species that I missed out on during the first time I fished here. While I didn't get a huge number of new species I did manage two, the giant mudskipper (Periophthalmodon schlosseri) and the barramundi (Lates calcarifer). Pretty good way to end my three week fishing trip through Southeast Asia.

Excellent series. Such beautiful scenery and so many neat fish. Your content is one of a kind. I’ve never seen anyone else do the kind of trips and species identification that you do on this channel. So good. Entertaining and I always learn something about new fish every video. Having never fished any place outside of my hometown here in East Tennessee, it’s so cool to see the different species.

Thank you. Much appreciated. There is so much beauty and diversity in the world that I love seeing everything our planet has to offer. Tennessee actually has the most native species out of any state in the US. If you really got into microfishing you could pick up well over 100 species without leaving the state. I do get jealous though every time you catch a white crappie. I still never caught one of those.

When you said a spot that doesn’t look like it has fish… I immediately thought “My guy, Nomad, can catch fish out of a ditch”. Lo and behold… you literally fished a ditch.😂 That mudskipper looked awesome. Super cool shot of the bike passing by. The Baramundi looks a lot like a bass with a crappie head!

Thank you. You'd be surprised at what kinds of places that look inhospitable actually hold fish.

Great video! Congrats on the barramundi! My buddy did fish with those folks in FL and had a great time catching some really big fish.

Thanks. I imagine the bigger ones are a fun fight.

I noticed you're biking to the different spots in this video. Do you typically store your rod in the backpack to ride to your next spot?

Nope, usually just hold it in my hand.
