today's video is Air Compressor Service and Maintenance and this is something most people don't even do. Like your vehicle a Air compressor pump needs to have it's oil changed as well. Air Compressor oil is a Special blend so don't add regular engine oil to your compressor pump or it just may end up in premature failure. besides for changing oil I inspected and cleaned the air filters, checked and inspected the belt, oiled the pressure switch and looked for anything that needed to be done. Everything worked out great and the compressor is running up to par.

That's what I need a large compressor like that. Once I get the shed cleaned out that will be my next big purchase.
Drain the tank? Should be done regularly so I assume that’s why you didn’t in the video. But still a good idea while doing maintenance. Good video though
what happens if you run it without the air filters?
Anybody know where you lubricate the electric motor bearings? Or if it's even necessary
I have the exact same type of air filter element, but I can't seem to find any replacement anywhere. Did you find replacement for yours?
What's the general opinion on using Amsoil on a new compressor? Is it a good idea or should I put some time on the compressor with regular oil first?
How do you tighten the belt if it needs it? Great video by the way!
The frame is slotted
Usually loosen the motor mount bolts and move the motor forward. Tighten them back up. Press down on the belt in the middle between the pullies. You should have about 1/2" of play by pressing down on the belt with your finger. If not tighten further.
My compressor sometimes gets "stuck" on startup. I often have to give the pulley a tap or palm push to start. Currently, the guard is off. How do I fix this?

The centrifugal switch on the motor may be gone
either check your motor centrifugal switch on a capacitor might be bad.

How often do you drain the water out of the tank?

So could you use a regular 30 weight motor oil? Or should a guy search for that "comp oil" another quality Vid Jerry
30 weight non-detergent should work in most compressors. Wouldn't hurt to show the model number to your local supplier to check.
Any oil is better than no oil.
I like to urinate in mine while drinking beer as this helps to keep the oil thin and smelling nice
