The instrument samples used in that game are completely different from the samples used in DK64 and Banjo Kazooie, but the overall cute feeling in Conker's music makes it understandable for a person to find them similar. But DK64 and Banjo Kazooie are both composed by Grant Kirkhope, and they mostly use the same instruments, but with some minor exceptions. The flute in Banjo Kazooie isn't practical in lower octaves like the flute in Donkey Kong 64, and that's why the flute sometimes sounds wrong (Like in the Banana Fairy's building). Plus, DK64 has more variety of brass instrument samples than Banjo Kazooie.
