I'm kinda curious now if the reverse challenge would be possible. Since it seems a lot more like Kazooie is doing the work, rather than Banjo. I guess that would mean...no moving, and no basic jumps, and no rolls? Kazooie flies, shoots eggs, you can move with the trot and swim with her, really it seems more like this should be called Kazooie-Banjo...
That may actually be possible if you use the glitch at the beginning to skip straight to rusty taller trot would already be unlocked as a movement option and would skip having to go through the otherwise impossible spiral mounting and most of rusty should be possible (Except maybe saving snorkel due to swimming being very banjo heavy) and from there most of the game should be very doable just far harder due to a lack of a ability to be precise with tough jumps
@@ItsLux1211you could probably save snorkel by swimming underwater and pressing The dive button as you swim. Which makes Kazooie use her wings to go faster in water. If you discount swimming. The answer is rusty bucket bay as as soon as you leave the leaving you need to swim to the next section. The biggest problem with this challenge is you would have to stipulate everything like Banjo stands on a jiggle switch before placing jiggles in the open world. Every jump starts with a banjo hop other than a talon trot so you need a rule for that. I can't remember the name of the golden feather move but that also has banjo walking so does that count. Even with the rusty bucket bay glitch and if that opens up the talon trot there is just no way to have a definitive run. Also let's face it you can't never win the game even if you decide to make all the concessions because you need pumpkin banjo to raise the waters to get to click clock wood.
I wonder if there could be some kind of mod that puts the separate Banjo or Kazooie from when they split up in Banjo-Tooie as the only playable character in this game (or the next one). I would argue that the gameplay of BK is majority Kazooie. All Banjo can do is claw swipe (basically never used), roll, and walk/jump (both inferior to trotting and jumping using Kazooie) It's kind of wild how little Banjo is actually used. Even when swimming it's more useful to use Kazooie.
My first thought when seeing this was "oh, he's gonna use that bee transformation anywhere glitch to have access to every place" it's been forever since I watched anything banjo kazooie related so I got no clue if that'd require kazooie though. Also I don't know why but I feel like banjo had more moves than that 🤔
If I could reach Click Clock Wood I would have tried to utilize that glitch as well. And yeah I also didn’t realize how little Banjo could do alone lol. In Tooie he can do a lot more so maybe that’s what you’re thinking
@@pressaTD You could reach click clock wood through the puzzle mini game but it's really hard to do and requires you to turn off your internet and having the gameplay in the puzzle go off sync and having banjo die in the minigame to respawn at click clock wood, even then though, you'd still not be able to beat the game
Kind of feel like you threw in the towel WAY too early for this video... it's a really interesting question and I'm sure there are a lot of jiggies you can get if you could access the other worlds. I expected this to be a "minimum Kazooie" challenge where you'd just manually count every time you use Kazooie, with prioritizing minimizing Kazooie usage (so you'd only go back to get a jiggy you missed if you NEEDED a Kazooie required jiggy to get to the next world). Routing would be a bit of a challenge, but would probably spark community interest more. Sadly this came out more as a "I tried this challenge, couldn't figure out the rules, messed up several times, and kind of gave up." despite opening with the quesiton "No Kazooie was out of the question, but how much do you need her" implying it's a minimum use run... Sorry, just being honest, good effort, but giving up like this isn't worth the like. Also, I kind of disagree the backflip jump is "Kazooie", Banjo is using his legs to leap in the air from a crouching position. I guess you could say that Kazooie is using her wings to help propel him higher than his regular jump, but you let the Dive and for a long while the Ground pound slide with an excuse that "Banjo's doing all the work" and admitted several times you thought as a kid Banjo was pooping the eggs out even towards the end of the video. So just a tip since you're fairly new at this... you may want to try to put in more effort and if you fail like this, just scrap the video. Better to give us a full hearted attempt that tried everything (even if you admit a skill cap), or just upload something else entirely, than upload something where you can't seem to agree on your own rules and give up cause of that. But as you said still pretty new and all I can do is continue to learn and make better videos. Thanks again!
yeah for some reason in banjokazooie ALL the abilities are kazooie focused. All banjo does is jump and punch, which nobody every uses since the punch is terrible lol

Maybe do a follow up where it is assumed that every world and every note door is open and accessible (so the slope in Grunty's Lair is ignored), so you could go world by world instead of the harsh limit. Just to open up more of the game and have a better challenge.
I left a comment earlier about using Kazooie to get underwater and seconds after carrying on watching your video, you mention excusing that exact mechanic ahaha Lesson learnt, don't leave a comment until you've watched the whole video XD Great video anyways. Never realised how much Banjo could do alone.
I still enjoy a challenge video, even if you can only get 11 jiggies! It's more interesting than knowing for sure you will beat the game. Also those small colored things are pronounced jin-joes
Would love to see a variation of this for Banjo Tooie (with a mod disabling the barriers ofc so you can truly go on a solo adventure). Banjo is surprisingly mobile without Kazooie when you know how to use him. His double jump in particular just feels like cheating.
A mod for banjor tooie that lets you split up banjo and kazooie at any spot or just place a split up station at the very start of the game might be fun to test a challenge like this out
Oh boy this is going to be a blast theoretically when you do banjo-Tooie you should I believe be able to hack banjo from the beginning to be by himself
I once tried the X button challenge in Banjo Kazooie. I played nearly a decade ago, but I can rememeber that I only needed to press the X button 4 times to get to Clanker's Cavern, as far as I remember. I am not sure if that could be lowered. I tried not using the triggers as well, but I did not get very far with that one so I gave up even faster.
Actually I discovered this "hack" in the Nintendo 64 version. You have to have a Game Shark and use the L to levitate cheat. And you actually have to sit and wait for the mini demo to load. But once you're in Rusty Bucket just levitate for a few seconds then let Banjo fall. He'll be off from where he should and his auto inputs will kill him. Then you start in Rusty Bucket.
I have B&K on an N64 emulator and and actively use the "press L to levitate" cheat. It doesn't require Kazooie at all and works wonders. Even getting to high up places Kazooie wouldn't normally reach.
No The ground pound move is literallty Kazooies move, Its named Beak Buster, Bottles Describes it as her move when teaching it to you, as something your doing with her body. Hes just objectively wrong.
Now for the inverse challenge - how much can you beat with just Kazooie? And by that, we'll say any time you walk or jump, it has to involve Kazooie somehow. So always Talon Trotting or fluttering or backflipping, no regular walking or slow swimming or climbing as these involve just Banjo without Kazooie. Should make narrow walkways and sneaking a lot harder. I'm guessing you can use the same intro glitch. If not, we'll count anything after skipping Bottles tutorial.
In actuality, you got zero of the Jiggies without Kazooie. All because she pops out of the backpack to store the Jiggy. . . That dang bird. Also, they're called "Jinjos" not "Jingos"!
"What if we said [BLEEP} Kazooie?" Artists: "Write that down! Write that down!" But seriously, this means that Kazooie is really the heavy lifter of the duo since it's her skills that are required for 89% of the game. I would have thought it would have been more of a 70/30 percentage split, but that neglects that the double jump and Talon Trot aren't just fun ways to move around faster, but is legitimately the only way to make it around some maps.
Lol we’ve been trying to make it more clear in recent videos that there’s two of us. We have some videos planned for the future where we are both in them
Id be interested in how manny you can collect with banjo, while using kazooie where necessary. To unlock worlds and stuff but then dont use her. Like: i used her to go up the sand hills in gobis valley but didnt her for the flying carpet or somethinh like that.
Yeah in retrospect that’s probably the approach I should have taken with the video, but I wanted to see how many Jiggies you could truly get without ever using Kazooie. But I think I’m going to do this again for Tooie and take this approach
Fun Fact: you could have used multiple cheat codes as, for some unclear reason, the xbox version doesn't actually delete your save data. From the wiki: "Grunty's ability to erase your game pak doesn't appear to have the desired effect in the Xbox 360 version, as seen in a video on the subject in which the affected save file is still intact on the Xbox 360 version. It does, however, work as intended in the N64 and NS versions. However, on the Xbox 360 version, saving will be disabled until the game is restarted should too many illegal cheats be entered."
I wonder about the inverse, how much can you do with only Kazooie. You're only aloud to walk on Kazzoie's legs and do moves involving her. The lore explanation is Banjo never did wake up that morning, so Kazooie is just pupping him around
That skip into Rusty Bucket Bay sounds like something a kid would have made up on the playground back in the day lmao

If you don't like exploits, don't watch challenge runs. Simple.
7:22 I'm sorry five what? Jin-jos my brother.
You should do this with all worlds, not worrying about the obstacles to getting to the worlds themselves so you can test every possible jiggy
Now i want to make a horror game of kazooie stuffing someone into a smaller metal backpack.
Also neat video.
Maybe do a follow up where it is assumed that every world and every note door is open and accessible (so the slope in Grunty's Lair is ignored), so you could go world by world instead of the harsh limit. Just to open up more of the game and have a better challenge.
Yeah I’m thinking I should have approached the idea as beating the game with using Kazooie as least as possible vs. not at all
It would be neat if there was a Tooie mod for Kazooie, then you could use the split pad, and try for a truly Kazooie-free run!
This would be cool! Who knows, maybe there is already one out there. I’ll have to look into this
Treasure trove cove sound track definitely still slaps
So not only do I have to give up Talon Trot, I also have to start in Rusty Bucket Bay? No thank you
Rusty bucket bay isn’t that bad!
I left a comment earlier about using Kazooie to get underwater and seconds after carrying on watching your video, you mention excusing that exact mechanic ahaha
Lesson learnt, don't leave a comment until you've watched the whole video XD
Great video anyways. Never realised how much Banjo could do alone.
Haha thank you! Appreciate the kind words. Was hoping Banjo could do more but still proud of his efforts
I still enjoy a challenge video, even if you can only get 11 jiggies! It's more interesting than knowing for sure you will beat the game.
Also those small colored things are pronounced jin-joes
Appreciate it. Lol and I know I’m a horrible Banjo Kazooie fan. Next time I do a Banjo video I’ll make sure I pronounce Jinjo right
say it like GIN-JOE
...jingo?
Lol for some reason I always pronounced it this way growing up that it’s hard for me to say Jinjo
Liked and subsribed to you. Love these videos!
Would love to see a variation of this for Banjo Tooie (with a mod disabling the barriers ofc so you can truly go on a solo adventure). Banjo is surprisingly mobile without Kazooie when you know how to use him. His double jump in particular just feels like cheating.
Great job. 11 jiggys is more then I woulda thought.
Thank you!
A mod for banjor tooie that lets you split up banjo and kazooie at any spot or just place a split up station at the very start of the game might be fun to test a challenge like this out
I would love that, but unfortunately Banjo Tooie is more complicated to mod
Uses beak bomb...
Funny, I exclusively opened the windows in Rusty Bucket Bay via ratatat rap. Nonetheless a Kazooie move but not the one I picked.
Oh boy this is going to be a blast theoretically when you do banjo-Tooie you should I believe be able to hack banjo from the beginning to be by himself
That would be cool! I’m just recently learning about this hack
This is a fun challenge idea as well!
Great video although.... Technically excluding the beak buster and eggs. You'd be unable to enter any of the cheat codes 😅
I feel like with Banjo's extended capabilities in tooie you'd have an easier time with that
I have B&K on an N64 emulator and and actively use the "press L to levitate" cheat. It doesn't require Kazooie at all and works wonders. Even getting to high up places Kazooie wouldn't normally reach.
Lots of exceptions to no kazooie thing. Reasonable ones, though.
Love this game
"jingo" lol
In actuality, you got zero of the Jiggies without Kazooie. All because she pops out of the backpack to store the Jiggy. . .
That dang bird.
Also, they're called "Jinjos" not "Jingos"!
I wonder if this would go better in Banjo-Tootie
Thank you for being my adhd hyper fixation of the month
Happy to help!
"What if we said [BLEEP} Kazooie?"
Artists: "Write that down! Write that down!"
But seriously, this means that Kazooie is really the heavy lifter of the duo since it's her skills that are required for 89% of the game. I would have thought it would have been more of a 70/30 percentage split, but that neglects that the double jump and Talon Trot aren't just fun ways to move around faster, but is legitimately the only way to make it around some maps.
Yeah I for sure thought Banjo could do a lot more on his own but pretty much every move involves Kazooie
Banjo Kazooie ❌️
Banjo Saving ✅️
Ah yes, My Favorite N64 Platformer, Banjo- !
Easy solution: Use Wishy Washy Banjo cheat and suddenly there is no Kazooie. Just washing machine. Although you need Kazooie for the sand castle.
This dude rapid firing content
It helps that there are actually more than 1 dudes on the channel. I love how I didn't even realize that until they pointed it out in a video
@@kid14346 lmao same but you pointing it out
Lol we’ve been trying to make it more clear in recent videos that there’s two of us. We have some videos planned for the future where we are both in them
found this channel through my man Lemon, good shit
Banjo walks around, carrying Kazooie. Kazooie does everything else 🤦
Stupid bear, no care he gave.
Price to wear, he cannot save.
"Jingo" lol
I dont mean to be that guy but you could have gotten the jiggy on the smoke stack in RBB. But I love this video keep it up
Id be interested in how manny you can collect with banjo, while using kazooie where necessary.
But I think I’m going to do this again for Tooie and take this approach
you had me until you said "Jingo"--they literally say "Jinjo" when you collect them lol
The lazy kazooie run
When I was a kid i’m pretty sure I activated the RBB glitch by accident. How? No idea, it just happened
This is why I always insist on including Kazooie when referring to the duo in Smash.
thats why its kazooie was included in the title, you can't play the game without them
Lemon send me here, you made me stay
This’ll be interesting.
I realized this much after, but either way I’m not able to use cheat codes still since it involves using Kazooie :(
Could someone possibly make a romhack for banjo-kazooie where you play as just kazooie, a la tooie's split-up pads?
The worst part of this run has to be not using Talon Trot at all.
i never knew about the rolling jump
Jingos.... Gobbys valley 🙈
I wonder about the inverse, how much can you do with only Kazooie. You're only aloud to walk on Kazzoie's legs and do moves involving her.
The lore explanation is Banjo never did wake up that morning, so Kazooie is just pupping him around
