- A stunning summers morning I scored last weekend down at the local beach break!
Conditions were a dreamy 2-3 foot, light offshore breeze and next to no crowd, what more could you ask for on a Sunday morning!!
It was my first surf trying out my new GoPro Hero 9 Black and my mate reid even flew his DJI Mavic drone around to capture a few shots while I was out there.
I hope you guys enjoy the video and as always feel free to drop a comment below and let me know if you like this type of drone X POV content and I'll look at doing some more!

This is on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland!
This was about as perfect of a day as it gets. The day before was a wild storm and we woke up to this the morning after, couldn’t believe it!
Hahaha I was with the red board in the drone shot
No way for real!?
That’s the second time this has happened and someone’s hit me up saying they were in the surf with me that day! Small world hey!!!
Hey Angus, how much time do you spend per week to process/edit/upload your videos? I'm feeling like I'm getting only 1% out of my Gopro and curious about your routine to get things done. Cheers
Hi Sébastien,
For my surfing videos I would say it takes me about 8 hours from starting the editing to finished and uploaded to TH-cam.
For my travel videos that have much more editing involved I would say they take around 20-30 hours, however I don’t upload them as often.
My routine is to surf when I can on the weekends.
If I’ve had a good surf as soon as I get home I import the clips off the GoPro and on to my computer.
I then watch the clips and delete all the bad ones.
I then name all the good ones (ie: good 3 turn left)
after that I import them into Final Cut Pro and begin to cut them to size and edit them into one video.
Finally I export from final cut and upload to TH-cam, do my title, tags etc, and take a screenshot to use as the thumbnail for the video.
I hope this helps you out!!!
If you have any other questions about anything in specific just ask 😁
@@AngusKennedy Thank you! Yes it helps and motivates a lot! Cheers
No worries mate 🤙
hey mate what board you riding

Is this Marcoola?
Hey mate, no this is down at Kawana 🤙
Rubbing sand on the wax, noooooooo!
haha it gives a LOT more grip in my experience
@@AngusKennedy To each his own I guess, but you might be using the wrong wax for your conditions. I find that sand disturbs the adhesion of wax to the board when re-applying and eventually breaks off in chunks during sessions. Also, it's rough on other parts of the body (like sandpaper). Enjoy the sunshine coast beaches, they're a previous gift.
Yeah very fortunate to grow up here!
Nah I use the right wax, the main reason I use the sand is the greasiness of my sunscreen always seems to end up on the board so I use the sand on my hands and then on my board to roughen it up again.
You'll also notice I don't use the sand off the beach, its too fine and doesn't work at all. I wait until I'm in the water where the sand is much courser and works a lot better. After 20 years of surfing I've got it down to a fine science 🤙
What’s your height n weight brotha?
Hey mate
I'm 6'1 and 70kg
My board in this video is a 5'6 Hypto
