I have fished a local rocky resevoir for several years and have been persistently frustrated trying to fish anything on the bottom except possibly weightless texposed worm. Ned, shaky head, jigs.. all snag immediately. Not the neko. I fished the Neko rig for the first time recently and was amazed. I didn't snag once, and caught several smallmouth.

Say now... that jetty looks REALLY familiar sir... spent a lot of time working both sides of that rip-rap over the years... I like the looks of that Neko Rig for that spot... I will definitely give it a try next time I go out there

    Thanks Edwin

Heck yes! I caught my longest Smallmouth on a Neko Rig. Thanks for pointing out these awesome advantages I never thought about.

Thanks Edwin for these great tips. It is hard to fish a jig/texas rig on rip rap rocks in the Arkansas river. I saw this video a couple weeks ago and tried it today during a tournament and caught our 2 biggest fish on this rig. I didn't stay hung up near as much and we got a 4th place finish out of it. Thanks again for all the great tips

neko..awesome technique. .some kind of band is a must with any softer worm .less rips and less chance losing the worm.

Caught three quality bass for my area on a notoriously difficult fishery all on a Neko rig last weekend, a growing favorite of mine now

  • @barryfluckiger8764

I love this technique. I fish it with many different worms. If it gets snagged, a little pop of the rod and it’s undone. The Neko can be fished so many different way around cover. I love the way it drops straight down. Even in dirty water when their hanging tight to cover and they aren’t chasing much, you can almost hit them off the head for a reaction strike. Flip it to a dock leg and it will follow the leg right down to the fish hanging on that cover. This has endless possibilities.

Thanks Edwin for another great video to help catch bass. I'm going to try this walking along the rocks on the dam of a small lake I fish. I will cast at a 45 degree angle from shore. 🎣🐟

He E. So yesterday evening here on Hartwell, I was throwing a neko around. The weight had come out after a couple cast like they do sometimes. Well I was reeling it in and noticed the action on the surface, then boom! Top water blow up. I missed it, but fired back at the bushes I was fishing in front of, burned it across the top, and got bit, idk try it in a calm afternoon. Sounds so dumb, and I still can't wrap my head around the fact that happened, but u can believe when I go out here in a bit I'm going to try it again ha. God bless E @jtomlinsonfishing

I must admit, I am jaded. I'm old, been watching fishing shows, seminars, and videos for decades and I'm pretty skeptical and cynical of people in general, especially in the fishing industry. IMO Edwin's videos are the best of all in regards to educating anglers on how to become better anglers....

Another channel is sensitive about comments being made about their channel from their viewers.
It certainly diminishes the quality of that channel wasting channel time being sensitive to these types of comments.
    I’m glad you don’t.
