I love my MV7! Definitely needed to upgrade the foam. The stock one is horrible! Just upgraded to an XLR cable and audio interface so I'm excited to play around with it. New sub👍🏼out here supporting smaller channels like mine!
Vegas, baby (lived there for couple of years)! As for Shure MV7 vs Samson Q9U, both mics sounded the same to me. In XLR mode, Samson Q9U sounded an little bit better to me. An rookie question, do you have to use an cloud lifter for both microphones? I've heard both mics have terrible USB cables. Great video, Kri.
Nice about living in Vegas! The MV7 is a well rounded mic, but the Q9U is definitely quieter and it wouldn't hurt to use a cloud lifter. I mainly use the Rodecaster Pro II or Streamer X with these mics nowadays, which both have enough gain to eliminate a cloudlifter. Appreciate you tuning in!
@@kriedholmIf I do get Samson Q9U microphone, the cloud lifter will be on my list. You're right about both microphones being fantastic. I'm still looking at three of them (Shure, Samson or Maono). My family was stationed there for a couple of years.
The shure mv7 is a fantastic microphone, I've not regretted my purchase and I'm now 2 years into owning the mic. However I have encountered one issue, and I was curious as to if you have aswell. The paint (not really sure how to describe it, but the colouring on the microphone) has begun to peel off, really badly, the paint is almost bubbling, and then peeling off. I specifically have the grey version of this mic. Was just curious if you had encountered this as well!
@@kriedholm Thanks for the reply! mine is also on a stand, it's a shame, but I think I'll just try remove the paint job at se point. Again thanks for the reply :)
Sold my MV7. Micro USB connection is a shame, pop filter is useless. Didn't like this mic for my voice. Using Shure SM48, SE V7 and AKG P220. Waiting for my new SE Dynacaster.
Which one is your favorite - the Shure MV7 or the Samson Q9U?
Having USB C and the software from Shure, that looks a easier choice for beginners
Samson for it's easier for beginners & won't have to deal with apps where it can be overwhelmed.

Appreciate it, Nenad!

Thanks for the info! Which foam you bought on Amazon for the Shure?(:
You're welcome! If you do a search for Shure sm7b foam replacement windscreen, you'll find lots of options.

I haven't experienced that, but my mic is on a stand and it stays there 99% of the time. Sorry to hear that you're having that issue.

Do people with rode caster pros actually use these mics?
My guess is yes
@@kriedholm well i upraded to a sm7b. I still dont have a rode caster. Arent they like 700?
hi im still thinking which one ill but because it for singing karaoke?
Probably not the best for karaoke. Go with a handheld mic!
The Samson sounds better with her voice
Thanks for the input!
100% agree. The Q9U added depth to her voice that the MV7 was missing.

Fair enough! Hope you find a mic that works best for you.

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out.
