Check out Pete Townshend’s performance of “Drowned” live at Royal Albert Hall you’ll be amazed with his rhythm playing (both fingerpicking and those “rasgados” he does so well).
I've loved the Who from my first live appearance in Portsmouth in 1965. The Albert Hall event was simply astounding l loved the acoustic variance 9 handed team producing an outstanding event which felt like an intimate club gig for 5000 eager fans. The Who must be so pleased with their longevity every event is Always exceptional many thanks bestwishes to you all and a huge thank you
For a song that I have literally grown sick of hearing, this version is quite fresh and original feeling. Roger sounds so amazing!! He sounds almost as incredible as he did from the "Who's Next" album!
This is amazing, true artistry here, this was one of the best versions of this song I have heard, they were jamming and having fun and it came through here too. Loved it!
Saw them again a few years ago and was shocked they hadn’t significantly altered the keys and that Roger could still hit it all. Even THAT note… you know the one. Remarkable.
I can't believe Pete forgot the middle 8 section! Roger was even telling him! Roger just sang the middle 8 over the A G D chords of the verse and Pete was like oh yeah! WTF pete? 5:00 Poor Rog! But Pete at least owned up to it. Great show warts and all! I move myself and my family aside is B E A B
Roger should only sing this acoustically from now on. He is my favorite rock singer by far, but he's given us his most exciting performances already. Time to play to your strengths like johnny cash.
@@mychoicetaken just the two of them playing on stage, when is the last time that happened ? I'll let you figure it out since you're such an expert, haha...pretty sure you'll get it wrong too.
@DuBradge that's not what they do. not now not 60 years ago... stripped was as close as that gets and that was 95... but enjoy the kiddy didler and his buddy....
There's a real fine line between performing the classics as they did in 2001 for the NYC benefit concert and seeing what is in this video. Really, isn't time to just retire?
Is someone holding a gun to your head? Control your own eyes and ears. The rest of us are appreciating the little time we have left with these absolute legends. There are many other places you can bitch and moan.
Ironic song in that these old fools have supposedly "retired" about 12 times yet they keep milking the "last time to catch us" BS......"Won't Get Fooled Again" indeed!
Classic all the way!!!! Fantastic!!! Still so very gifted!!!
Age shall not weary them. The music keeps them young & strong
These 2 are Unstoppable!!!
Our TREASURE!!
This is very good, you can feel the love.
l love those flamenco flourishes that Pete has always incorporated into his playing. Superb!
I went to the com, ments just to see if someone noticed flamenco!

I can’t believe I was in this crowd this was a great concert
These TWO ARE REALLY THE GREATEST OF ALL!!!
❤️ LOVE THEM!
Behind blue eyes was my favorite song when I was 10 years old and it’s STILL MY FAVORITE AT 61 years old!
That’s saying something!!!!❤❤❤❤

I've heard that roger is sick of this too.
Roger still has plenty of power in his voice. Honestly, it's hard to believe they are heading for 80!
And look at Pete’s strumming!
@@LKaramazov especially when he’s on the internet!😂
@@theelvisguru9490 NOT what I was talking about, smart ass!😎😂
Pete and Roger are Rock Legends!
Hi Roger, Hi Pete. It sounds like the audience appreciates your song.
Thanks for sharing with your TH-cam audience.
Magical....a Townshend lyric delivered by a Daltrey vocal, it does not get any better.
I was there in row W at the top such a great show! For only 2 hours of rehearsal…
Amazing chemistry between these two 'brothers' -- stronger than blood!
The world needs The Who.
Petes guitar playing as good as ever
amazing. Just like Rogers voice 🙏
This is amazing, true artistry here, this was one of the best versions of this song I have heard, they were jamming and having fun and it came through here too. Loved it!
My first concert, December 1971, Denver, Co.
These old cremudgens still rock harder than any of the young bands on the radio now.
They still sound great!
God bless you!
This is brilliant! Thanks for posting.
Awesome upload, thanks. I was kinda hoping Pete was gonna smash that guitar into splinters.
Even though it's acoustic, it still has power in it. It's nice to hear the audience joining in, as well.
I'm kinda biased (I *love* acoustic renditions), but agreed
@@xHadesStamps Yeah I'm a great fan of acoustic stuff.
Greatest song. Thanks from Guatemala

That was lovely to see.
Imagine these 2 at your local open mike night down the pub.
two men near 80 with one guitar, everyone groans
Absolutely great as always
Son de la generación de los 60. Y siguen aún vigentes.
Great!!
They"ve still got it
Superb!
Anybody have Tattoo and Who are you full song on video they can post.
Thanks
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent!! Pete surely knows how to wrangle a J-200!!
Too Awesome 💫💫

This is one of the most genius things I've ever seen! the man is near 80, he made up a new verse on the spot and it was amazing
I LOVE the ROCK version...but the fact they can pull off this version is a tribute to how good they are...and yes, Roger still has the stuff.....
Roger should only sing this acoustically from now on.
He is my favorite rock singer by far, but he's given us his most exciting performances already. Time to play to your strengths like johnny cash.
Don't care about the age when Roger & Pete are on stage
i would say is on par with the toronto show
A long way from Woodstock...
I'm old , and I knew it was time to hang it up. I guess these guys haven't.
Wow… yep John is dead, so is Moon, but for sake The Who are a power house of Rock’s history….
RIP John Entwistle and Keith Moon. Two irreplaceable legends, now only audible in recordings 😭
Reminds me of the time me granddad and his mate wandered from the home, and we found them at the karaoke bar.
and did they kick this much ass?
@@loosilu Much much more.
Everybody under Rogers age, drop and give me 20!
I don't think I will 😛
I almost skipped over this... almost😎
I miss the classic scream but maybe he can't do it anymore.
Amazing, too bad Mick and Keith will never do something like that again...
Not true. Many more club shows then Who EVER did. Last show was a club show and there will be another Shepard’s Bush on the 60th run.
@@mychoicetaken just the two of them playing on stage, when is the last time that happened ? I'll let you figure it out since you're such an expert, haha...pretty sure you'll get it wrong too.
The Stones are a mess live. The one completely acoustic album they released years ago was enjoyable tho.
Uh, please look at the tours going back to 2018. Mess? Mick and Kieth never doing that again??
@DuBradge that's not what they do. not now not 60 years ago... stripped was as close as that gets and that was 95... but enjoy the kiddy didler and his buddy....
Consummate professionalism
So now we have Who Unplugged? Boring!
I just can't get excited anymore Watching 80 year-old rockstars. It was 1 thing watching you 50 years ago. I think it's time for geritol.
There's a real fine line between performing the classics as they did in 2001 for the NYC benefit concert and seeing what is in this video. Really, isn't time to just retire?
Tell you what, don't buy a ticket.. problem solved
The problem will be solved when the two of them mercifully retire. Time to park the insatiable ego.
@@Jiggs2u2 Exactly!! And don't watch, right!
