@@bozzigmupp510 definitely not because of his playing. Most probably the fault of the camera and maybe the hall's acoustics? Thankfully a good grand's pedal doesn't ruin the sound like it appears on this video.
The legit reincarnation of Liszt as has been said. Simply astonishing his speed and accuracy, phrasing and emotion conveyed, as well as musical understanding - incomparable…. Imagine 30 years from now….
Literally my first thoughts were "oh I guess they're playing a recording of the orchestra, that's strange." Before I realized that was COMING FROM HIM! Good GAWD.
Emmm... Yeah, but there is so much more to this phenomenal young pianist, though, than his ability to beat the piano into submission, as shown in this set of excerpts.
Yncham Lim is clearly one of the most exciting pianist I have heard for long time. On this piece, he really remind me Lazar Berman's liszt music approach, really amazing. Let's see in the coming year how he will manage his carreer and how good will be his recording. Let's hope he will put on disk these exceptionnal moment of fusion of top level virtusity and excellent musicallity.
What’s cool is, because of the distance, angle of the shot, the lighting, and generally mediocre quality of the camera video, his hands appear to be glowing instruments of pure energy. Which, of course, they are.
This brings to mind the analogy-just as there are many skilled football players, but then there’s Messi, similarly, among numerous accomplished pianists, there’s Yunchan Lim.
He was only 18 years old! And he played with such power and passion you experience here in Kansas few days later of this recital. It felt like you're watching a movie with a huge orchestra playing the music.... WOW 😹
well just try out a recording from a distance of a certain hearer's reality, and you probably get music instead of hammers and strings. try a second time, same player, same piece, same instrument but, as is usually done, under the wing at just ½ meter from the strings and you get on record less interesting things, namely steel, copper, felt and hammering wood .
3:38 I just love this part when it feels like the theme is from James Bond or Mission Impossible movies. Mission impossible feats indeed! by Lim Maestro. 🤩👍🐾

Not a good quality of the recording sound, But you can hear a real "Miracle" is happening, The Saint walking on wave of sea. Also you can hear a drum or an ochestra sound from piano.
makes the piano sound like a complete orchestra...
Exactly my thought! I was looking for other members of an orchestra
Gran concierto Yunchan. 😍🎹🧨🧨
A bit musdy though? Hope it's just the camera

Truly a once in a generation talent. You get a sense that there is absolutely no technical boundary he’s up against. Just pure expression. Astounding.
I was there.. Paul Shaghoian conert hall in Fresno.. Overwhelming, mesmerizing, spellbinding, spectacular.. It’s beyond words.
Technically artistically perfect pianist
He's not playing the piano... he's orchestrating the keys.
Incomprehendable to be at such a level at 18.
we really need albums for his all performances.
We got his Transendental etudes on Spotify

The speed is so unreal that it looks like a glitch in the matrix
I experienced moments like these during his Carnegie Hall recital.... omg..... unforgettable....
4 encore, overkill
Literally my first thoughts were "oh I guess they're playing a recording of the orchestra, that's strange." Before I realized that was COMING FROM HIM! Good GAWD.
He was never on Earth, never human, but always a god in his world of music shared by others.
He’s an alien! Out of this world! Where am I? In a state of disorientation over his brilliance!
Wow! Incredible performance! He beat that piano into submission. A true virtuoso. Bravo!!!
Emmm... Yeah, but there is so much more to this phenomenal young pianist, though, than his ability to beat the piano into submission, as shown in this set of excerpts.
Maybe literally! It appears to be an old S&S D- after he's done with it, Steinway will probably retire it from artist service!
This was insane.
That kid is amazing

This is what TH-cam is for. Amazing stuff. A miracle, really.
My hair is standing straight up!
이건 음향녹음이 실제대비 1/10수준임. 실제 들으면 정말 이게 피아노소리인가 사람인가싶고 현실이 아닌것 같고 내내 전율에 소름에…입이 실제로 내내 안다물어짐

Despite the lack of quality of the recording, it made me tears 🤤🤤🤤
It is so inspirational to see such realized ability.

Yes, headwind in the space.Tthe flow is steady, occasionally his hair flies nicely in places
I've played "St. François de Paule marchant sur les flots"--it didn't sound like that. Mr. Lim is astonishing!
I would like to listen to also your interpretation

A new gateway to the music ~
