Frankenstein's car in the 1975 film "Death Race 2000" is a nightmarish and formidable machine that epitomizes the dystopian landscape of the movie. I have the only other surviving main car from the film, the Bull car. It is also corvair powered. The new wider spine on the alligator car was added for it's second movie "Hollywood Boulevard", since the original spine was ruined in the end of Death Race 2000. There is also a nice alligator car replica in the Deezer collection in Orlando, formerly in Miami.

Indeed, the vast majority of folks thought the same. Yeah, I know not everyone puts pics of their builds online, but most the cars I cover; even obscure ones; I usually find at least one person who has, but not in this case is what I meant. 😉
Speaking of Dick Dean, they had him on an episode of Monster Garage once back in the day, along with other legendary car cusomizers like Bill Hines, Gene Winfield, and Norm Grabowski. They built a pretty awesome custom ‘54 Chevy.

Definitely a wonderful way to start the new year. I got into the remake universe of the movies and I didn’t know they made a 4th movie. Knowing that we had 2 movies in the original timeline it makes me curious to get into this. I got into the movies specifically because of Twisted Metal.

another car possible something more ordinary a , Dodge St Regis squad car from TJ Hooker , the Shatner drove it seasons 3 to 5, seasons 1 and 2 it was a Dodge Monaco, but IMO the St. Regis is much cooler one

What's funny about the Carmageddon is that the character Countslash is basically the Frankenstein character, but obviously in a very different car and layout.

I was really excited when Death Race came out with Jason Statham, but ultimately disappointed since the movie was CRAPOLA

I watched the original Death Race 2000 and it sickened me to my stomach, I took it too seriously lol. I did get the impression that they were all Beetle based motors and wow I was right!! Happy new year

Thanks I knew it wasn't a C3 vette and had to be some VW kit car. This is done quite a bit in movies. The Blade Runner Spinner is just a VW beetle for example.

did you consider THE CHASE (1994) ? with Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson, nearly the entire movie happens around a red BMW E36 Coupe and the movie is such a cheesy cool popcorn flick

Oh those Barris ‘restorations’ so many cars mutilated… a friend of mine worked on the original Carmageddon game and based the blonde girl character on his then girlfriend, now wife.
That's cool, yeah I came across a YT video awhile back of some behind the scenes footage of when they were videoing the woman in the helmet that they used they used for the female character face animations. Pretty cool stuff back then anyways 😉👍

I first saw this film somewhere around 12-years-old, or so. Not exactly appropriate material for a pre-teen, but I loved everything about it. I was going through a "Rocky" phase at the time, so I actually wanted Machine Gun Joe to come out the overall winner in it all. There were also other, uhhhhh... non-racing scenes... that kept my attention as a boy of that age, too. ;)

I worked at the my garage museum while this car was there up until they sold it at mecum. They only got it running right before it sold so I have lots of memories pushing this surprisingly heavy car around as the displays were changed. Good to see it again great video!

Owned a 1981 Vette and ordered an all black 2002 Z06 with the option to pick it up in Bowling Green. We lived in the Seattle area at the time and I had recently retired from the Army. It was my 40th birthday/retirement present. First thing I did was gut the entire interior. Dynamatted it completely. Was a sonartech in the advanced electronics field in the Navy and a prime power production specialist in the Army and I knew I could do the job. First was the addition of the Alpine CDA-7998 HU. CDT audio speakers (6” in the pillars, tweeters/mids and crossovers in the doors) JL Audio 12” sub. Built my own amp racks and the assy. for door mtg. speakers. Stinger wiring , Bosch relays, cannot remember maker of the capacitors. JLAudio 1000/1 mono amp and 2ea. JL Audio 400/2 amps. Took about two months but, well worth it. Good thing was, it wasn’t my daily driver. Wife is German and listens to techno and I am hard rock/metal. When she pulled up a the gate to get on post, they knew she was there and they saluted her…I was an enlisted 1SG. I would pull up to my job and they could hear me outside. Man, I loved the whole car. No chrome or anything “non-black” on the exterior, with black matte wheels. Even found a matte black hood emblem. Got an 8 ball from Belgium that was smaller than the normal sized for gear shift. Wife had three tickets in the first two weeks of her driving. I got my first outside Bend, OR…121 in a 65, in the freeway. $595 ticket. Ruined my trip down to S. Idaho.
My point is: this Corvette and the car in Corvette Summer are abominations and defines what to never do to a Corvette. Like bolting a rear spoiler onto the car. Apologies for the length. Just got going. 🤨
Cool, yeah a C6 Z06 is on my list to buy at some point as well; almost had an '09 one back in '15 too. I literally got laid off at work the same day that I was going to go sign for the loan and had also I had just sold my '06 GTO in order to afford it, man I was sooo pissed about that!
@@CarStarz42 hell yeah. My first car (while a sophomore in HS)was a Dodge Dart Swinger w/340 magnum. Sold it to buy a 1970 Challenger T/A w/383 and traded it straight across for a 1971 Roadrunner w/440 magnum and I built that car to the max…as far as I could in 1982. Joined the Navy and had a VW GTI and then an IROC Z. On leave in 1992 a female I was with and myself were hit at a green light for us and a red light by a third time drunk driver offender. He was from a very wealthy Mormon family. The girl and received a huge settlement and that was the $$$ for future vehicles. Had switched from the Navy to the Army and when I got to my duty station and needed a lot of medical care, the Department of Defense went after the rich family. I was deemed government property and he was in for destruction of government property. Just like, if a military person gets a sunburn due to their neglect, they can be charged. It comes down to if we can or can’t do our job.
