- In this video I show a recap of the tough run I had at Ultra Adelaide 100km in 2022 and then show the amazing improvement I made in a year as I have my best run to date at the same event in 2023.
Enjoy the stunning views and the excitement of watching an everyday runner push him self on one of the most beautiful runs in Australia, and all the water we encountered along the way.
Whether your a seasoned trail runner or an everyday person aspiring to try big things, I know you will be both entertained and motivated after watching this amazing day unfold.
Watch to the last few minutes to see a glimps into what unfolded a few days after this event.....

Well done! Thanks for recording this, I really appreciated it as I’m doing the 50k for the first time this year. Being interstate helped me see what some of the trail looked like.
My pleasure, you will love it. I run a lot of ultras and trail runs and this is one of the highlights of my year.
Fantastic to watch and a brilliant heads up as I’ve this coming up and not run 100km before. Great vid and congratulations on such a strong effort!!
Enjoy it Paul. It is true test of grit and determination but so fulfilling and fun. Be in the moment and enjoy the whole thing no matter how you are feeling at the time.
@@BartCampbellBackpackGuy Thankyou so much for your advice.. one thing more.. you took a wrong turn the first year.. do you find the route well marked or easy to go off track? Many thanks 😊
Amazing video mate and an awesome run. I've signed up for this years and was already keen, but am even more excited after watching your vid 👌
That's awesome to hear, it's a great run. Look forward to seeing you out there. 🤜
Well done Bart, great effort.
Thanks Sylvia, it was a big effort but I had fun making this one.
Epic video Bart. So proud xx
Thanks Bec, I couldn't do it without you.
Great video Bart. I'm doing the Ultra Adelaide 100 this year and Ima be real I'm a little nervous now seeing all that bloody water at the start. You're lightyears quicker than me - you even have a Sonic the hedgehog mode 31:18 😆 I appreciate the video, it's great fuel for my own ultra passion, wish you all the best.
Thanks Rick, we are all somewhere on this journey I felt the same way when I ran my first 100k ultra but the important thing is to not worry about speed or placing but just enjoy it.
It's gonna be tough but it's also gonna be fun, and if you can just take your time and finish at YOUR pace it's an amazing achievement. I'm looking forward to seeing you out there.🤜
Awesome job mate :-) Legend
Thanks Darren, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing to watch, hopefully ill follow your footsteps in a year or 2. What basic training regime do you follow during a week if you don't mind ?
I will be doing some videos on the channel soon which we detail how I train.
But I'm a big believer in consistency over quantity. I believe that you are better to do really regular small runs over less often big runs (obviously over time you can build the individual run distances based on your physical capabilities and life circumstances).
Vary up the types of runs (hills, fast, trails, road etc), I try to do this regularly.
And lots of recovery running (low heart rate). I have run every day for over 500days straight and a huge key is that a lot of my runs are actually recovery runs, so I am recovering quicker than if I just took a rest.
Obviously there is a lot more detail to it it but I hope that gives you some insight. Check out my Strava to see some of what I am doing. (The last couple of weeks might look a bit odd as my household is a bit hectic so I'm just doing what I can) 🤜😁
Unreal thanks for that, yea looks like I’ll just have to get more runs in ! Looking forward to your future videos!
