My favourite stoic lesson from Meditations is to be strict with oneself, but lenient with others.

The daily dad for today 2/8 really hit home. My son just turned 8 a few months ago, and changes in his behavior have become rapid. I realized I am projecting conditional love to him by being disappointed when the fruits of the labor we do together doesn’t show up. He doesn’t owe me anything much less making me proud just like you said. Just love him I got it!

Stop getting attached to people who don't value you. You deserve better than that. You deserve to be with someone who respects you, supports you, and loves you for who you are. Don't waste your time and energy on people who only bring you down. You have so much potential and so much to offer the world. Focus on yourself and your goals. Surround yourself with positive and uplifting people who inspire you and motivate you. Stop getting attached to people who don't matter. You matter.

This is so important I’ve written it Down including book titles to keep rolling towards my motivation from first thing in the morning and throughout the day. As a senior the freedom from schedules has been great at lowering my stress reactivity which results in triggering AI issues; but after a few years of plugging away at self care I know I need to build muscles to get out there & just do it without thinking! Thank you so much. Namaste

This might be an Odd statement, but, I would love to hear what type of music Ryan could create. So much music, even when It "Sounds Good" can really lack Depth and meaning lyrically. I personally think that a Songs meaning and value is more so in the Ear of the Beholder, yet again I like Lyricism when Its Special.
Anyways, Love your Books man. Been reading them for years.
You seem like a cool Dude.
I wish you all the Best, and if the Worse comes around, then others can see through your reaction and action what it means to keep going...and to Live.
And Hey, if the absolute Best of Life is given to you, then of course You Sir can Still Represent The Stoic Powers!!
    Rock on Brother

At first glance, without thinking: Nooo. Ah gawd, I don't wanna die! Afterwards, upon greater reflection: Taxes, Racism, Reality TV shows, Annoying Online Advertising, Corrupt Politicians, Insurance Companies that refuse to pay, Corporate Greed, Climate Change, Divorce Lawyers.
New Sentiment: Yes, thank you Lord for not making me immortal. No more Mondays!!! No more Spiderman remakes, or endless Hollywood Holocaust films. No more bank fees, and goodbye to data mining and privacy invasion by tech companies.
Seriously, live it, and don't throw it away, but don't think that dying is so terrible. Pray that you reach Nirvana the first time so you don't need to come back and do this all over again 😂

Great meditation to start the day. Very useful for me to use the #premeditatiomalorem as a finance/risk professional. Athletes call this "envisioning" "previsualizing", and having your own time to meditate pre-event to see yourself actually performing at the top of your game. You see your game or performance before it happens, so that when you are "in it" you have full physical and mental capacity hitting on all cylinders and you can become a maestro of whatever is in your focus. Many other call this physical ability that athletes have as "intuition". It's like having your own crystal ball that you can tether and transform into your own mandala, so that as you go through your performance you have been successful without compromising your sense of #Courage #Justice #Temperance & #Wisdom. I think metaphysically it's like trying to describe "the object" in Borges' short story "El Aleph".
