Thank you!! It was a really fun river and we loved Paddlefest. Especially on a winding river like that. We met so many nice people who really enjoy paddling that river.
Matt and Kerry.... I love all your videos but this one hit the spot and is probably my favorite. Matt you made me lol a few times. Barb and I are def doing this paddle... maybe this Fall after our Adirondack foliage departs. At the risk of sounding corny... it makes me so happy to see another couple out there enjoying paddling together. Keep it up... your vids are a joy.
Wow! Thanks! This was a fun river with many obstacles, as you saw! Glad you enjoyed it. We love experiencing our adventures as a couple. In addition to yours, we found some favorite channels who do the same… like Northern Scavenger, Jim Baird, Canoe the North, Two Packs & a Pup, Ozark Media…… they have great couple/family trips & we enjoy having coffee each weekend watching their adventures.. if you come to Pittsburgh this fall, please reach out! How fun would it be to paddle a river & share a beer!
@@peaks.and.paddles I am subscribed to most of those channels. Good stuff. It would be great to meet up with you when we head your way. We have a family wedding in Pittsburgh the weekend of October 26th. We aren't sure we can make it yet as we are in the middle of building our Adirondack camp. I think I mentioned this... but my mother grew up in a family of 16 children in Pittsburgh's West End.... so I have cousins upon cousins in the 'burg as my aunts and uncles all had big families too. We are probably related. haha. Anyway... thanks again for the fun video... we really enjoyed it.
Those low branches definitely added to the adventure that day! Thankfully the Shenango River Watchers volunteers keep that river cleaned up. We couldn’t paddle it without them.
Hey bud, nah we don't remove the fins in shallow water. I've thought about doing it, but we usually have so much crap on our boards it would be too much of a hassle. I've done a 9-mile trip without any fins before, the board was pretty unstable, and paddling was a pain in the butt. The fins on my board are removable. I've broken three small fins and 2-3 of my big middle fin. Kerry's small fins are glued on to the board and we've had to reglue them on when they got knocked off. We keep a replacement big fin on us in case the big fin breaks.
Way to rock out paddlefest!!! Looked like a fun day, and cool to see a bunch of other paddlers rocking the day, so many fun overhangs to rip under.

I live south of Greenville and i wouldn't ever do anything in that river. It is so polluted, we call it Typhoid Mary.
YOU WOULD THINK SOMEONE WOULD TRIM THE LOW BRANCHS

It's in the wild, no one's responsible to trimming them 😂😂
