(Click "Download master Source" for the latest version)
This should also work with the A330-300 and A320neo series in FlightGear.

Yeah 😔 I wish he would start uploading again. His vids are very helpful
Tegjwok John what?
Yes flight gears is a good game but no famous
It does sometimes, especially with AI Traffic enabled. I land at EHAM in my A330 Engine Failure real time recording, in case you're curious.
my personal review about this video is that this is the best cockpit autopilot and autolanding tutorial I've seen till now. it will give me good help in my easa b2 exam just a month a head . thanks u for that
I get this question pretty much every day now, so I guess it would be only fair to finally make a video about that soon :)
Hi amazing video as usual... for the version of the plane: -203 works with GE engines, -223 with P&W, -243 with RR... this is for all type of airliners, for example, with the A330 "-203", number 2 is for the version of the aircraft (-200), the second number is for the engine industry code (0 for GE), and the third number is for the engine model (in this case number 3 is for "GE CF6-80E1" engine)... hope you've understood :)
No problem! I think the url did change lately; Google just needs some time to catch up sometimes.
Great to hear that! Happy auto-flying :)
The A330 can change the altimeter setting from hectopascals to inches of mercury. You scroll on the base of the wheel.
Awesome :) Always great to read comments like that! Thanks for the feedback.
I do! My accent makes it quite obvious sometimes. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
Nice tutorial but a few points you could consider:
1. The approach perf changes you made will only take effect if you switch ACT MODE to MANAGED (PERF)
2. This isn't required but you could use CTRL+S to Arm ground spoilers :)
As for the weird water effect, I have no idea what's going on, others have seen this issue too but I don't seem to be able to replicate it.
Cheers!
Ah thanks! I wondered why the plane was still flying ~145 knots. And thanks for the ground spoilers :)
I see many people have problems with that. So I will do that soon!
Actually a simple google search of "A330" takes you to the wiki, as well as the manufacturer, where it states that the numbers to refer to different engines. The 243 uses a RR engine, for instance.
I kind of forgot about that in this video. Autobrakes are useful, however they're not required. As you can see, some thrust reverse and a little bit of wheel braking can easily stop you on a long runway like this ;)
Hehe, it was actually flying at 142 kts I think. When the ACT MODE is MANAGED (AUTO), the FMGC calculates the best approach and flare speed on the spot depending on the reactions it's getting. The 145 and 125 are just default for MANAGED (PERF)
Who knows ;) I bet he enjoyed that smooth autoland!
Also, about the hangar; have you tried the link in this video's description?
Btw, I really hope Thorsten looks into NOT disabling lightmaps when atmospheric scattering is enabled. That's what causes the weird color effects on the fuselage.
Ah that's cool to know! Thanks for the info :)
There's been more people saying I do too many videos with planes from the Omega Hangar. But there's also even more people who request tutorials for those planes. Autoland on the A330 for example; lots of requests for that.
I try to pick great aircraft for my videos, both based on my opinion and based on the community's opinion. Omega Hangar planes seem to be popular, but if you check out some of my latest videos, you can see I've been using other planes as well.
I hope that explains it a bit!
thanks to you for all your videos, they help me so much: they're so easy understanding and so beautiful!
So I eventualy managed to semi-autoland the plane. All worked well except horizontal alignment. Whenever I press the "LOC" button the plane gets destabilized and swings left and right. I had to unpress LOC, and only press APPR to intercept the glideslope. Then, with AP on, I was manually adjusting the heading 1 to 3 degrees to left and right so that the plane gets aligned to the runway. Doing it this way, I managed a very soft and precise landing...
Another great video. I also found the one on the Boeing 777 ILS and Autoland (25:19) very helpful.
Hi Oscar! First of all I would like to say you thanks for all that time that you spend making this awesomeone videos for the flightgear comunity, are really good, and all of us really apreciatte all this afford!I've been whatching most of your videos, and I would like to wish you something: Could you make please, a video showing how to install the 787-8?(when I download it, its just like a data, and has anything in common with ther planes in flightgear! Thank you, and see you soon in FG online!
press v or V to cycle thou views. ctrl-v to jump back to pilot view.
takeoff depends on plane. usually: (auto)start the engine }}}s , some flaps. shift-B to release the parking brake and 90% throttle
Does that work in FlightGear? Haven't yet figured it out :/
Hey mate how comes i have learnt all the tuts u do beofre and u do only those i learnt ?
BTW great tutorial cheers :D
Thanks osjcag did my first Airbus landing with autoland!
i love all of your video Flight gear
Pretty much any version I believe :) flightgear -dot- org has the info.
the numbers like 203/243/223 the numbers have nothing to do with any Engine, the last two digits are codes for Airbus about the Airline that uses the A330-200
This video did help me a lot, thanks now i go try it :)
Hello, do you live in Holland because i live in Holland in Leiden. Your videos are so cool, and if you have time please reply that you live in Holland or not. Thanks :)
Autopilot 2, always watching and judging.
very nice touchdown. I want to learn playing the flight gear. where can I get help with that?
Great landing!
Great landing
mouseclick to cycle through the modes. when in view mode then use the scrollwheel
That's pretty handy indeed :) Thanks!
Great Video!
Why is your comment section filled with random comments like 'It does sometimes, especially with AI Traffic enabled. I land at EHAM in my A330 Engine Failure real time recording in case you're curious'??? Are you talking to yourself or something? weird lmao
Can you explain how to install the A330, maybe in another video?
Yeah it has some buildings now!
thx for the info and good landing
The engine is a GE CF6-8
Well done!
If only I had the time, I'd give all of you personal FlightGear training :p I do my best by making videos like this; please check out FlightGear HowTo #8 for the basic controls you need and search for other FlightGear tutorials to get you off the ground :)
I learned by trial and error as well!
I have a problem, the Heading knob, autopilot switches and auto throttle switches does not work, nothing happens when i press or scroll on them. And then i dont really understand the vertical speed.
Smooth landing
Awesome video :) lots of finnair planes at the airport:)
its been 5 years
The runway will need to be wet. That is all. It need not be during a landing either.
Great Video
Well I have no idea! Glad you liked it though :)
@osjcag I think FlightGear is better than X-Plane 10, I like the graphics. X-Plane 10 is realistic, but also FlightGear, I think X-Plane 10 was a disappointment to me.
Wow that is cool
I can't seem to make it land on the autopilot. Can't make it work with the ILS. Does the airport matter? I have set the ILS frequencies of LGAV 21L. I have ILS pressed. Everything runs on autopilot (gps till approaching the airport). Then when I see the ILS indications, I press LOC, and then APPR and put heading and throttle to auto (managed?). it doesn't align with the runway... :(
I am new in Flight Gear and I need some help in controlling and other things, Is there a way to contact you?
When can you buy the a330-200 and the a330-300
A330-200 means:
A330
+Jamil Sheheme So an A330-300 is a third times larger/stronger? Plus what is a A330-203? Why just add 3? I have a feeling the 200 is basically Airbus' way of saying A330 version 2.0 and the extra 3 is the engine type...
+MaxRich1236 To my knowledge, the extra number is the customer code for the airline the aircraft was build for. The x-hundreds has something to do with the size of the A/C, but it's not -200 = 200 pax. Just my uneducated guess.
A330 -> Model Number
200 -> Series Number
That's what I know
can you please make an ils Tutorial for the A320neo from artrix pls
Can I do a B-52H in Soviet airspace circa early 1980's?
Oscjcag, do you use mcdu or you use route manager? answer please!!!!
Hi, i have problems with all my a/c from omegahangar. The thumbnail shows but when I open the simulator, the aircraft does not appear. Do you know how to solve it?
good landing
does eham lag on your computer? i wanna see a fly in to there and as well as kpdx and keug
so cool
hey osjcag whydoes my a330 does crazy turns when i press the loc and app button when im in the glideslope already??

How'd you get cabin announcements in the 330-203?
I wonder if hes moved over to X plane 11 yet, the graphics on this look naff......
What is your video card?
How about arming the autobrake?
for what windows is flight gear
what are your rendering settings
Where can I download VHHH?
can i know to how to takeoff of this game? i try all of aircaft after take off checklist done then which button to take off? i try number 9 also cannot
+jason ho PageUp and Down controls the throttles. Make sure your parking brake is released and your flaps are set. And of course, you should be lined up on a runway.
i like your voice
Belo Pouso muito bom bem suave
Is that with a joystick or keyboard?
no one can fly like this with a keyboard ;)
***** so u may have done that ages ago lol
Joy stick m8 ;)
Hi Guys... What Kind of processor and GPU should I have to run this smoothly?
Thks...
Depends on the settings. On minimum settings, I got it to run ~60fps on a 1st gen i5, ATI HD5450 and 4GB rig. On max settings, it depends on the rendering mode - ALS or Rembrandt. But I'd suggest atleast an i5 and probably ~650ti or better. I've seen it run butter smooth on either rendering mode with a 4790K + 1x R9 290. I currently run it on a laptop with an i7 4510u, 8GB RAM and a GT820M and get ~20fps with more or less maxed settings with the ALS rendering mode.
@@figarosworld nooo i have an i5 8265u 8th gen ,8 gb ram BUT I HAVE an Mx150 2gb... is that good enough?
are you a real pilot?
the omegahangar
what airport pls ;) ?
Grammophone swing 1930 VHHH
This graphic..... looks like late 90'
its a free flight sim....what do u expect?
Well, you're not the first person to write this comment. But you must keep in mind it's not always about appearance, you know. FlightGear is a powerful and versatile simulator - even if it isn't the prettiest thing in the world.
