Actually in the real 40k board game, TAU riflemen and most of their foot soldiers have a backup retreat ability(if they haven't already rolled and fired since it uses a move point) that literally allows them to deflect a melee charge. If they are not forced into melee combat, meaning they have no action points or charged them back to deflect the charge bonus then a good TAU player can literally avoid every melee encounter. If the unit has a high move roll, then they can also fire after avoiding a melee attack, getting a bonus against a recovering unit which failed to engage melee. The reason Julia could escape is because Alex lacked an understanding of human beings. His superior intellect removed him so far from humanity that he was basically a slightly more sinister version of Tau trapped in a human body.

I think he meant she’s nonchalant about being a very pretty, semi small, women walking through a rough part of her neighborhood (at night) after pick pocketing a bunch of people- she doesn’t seem to have any weapons on her person (taser, small gun, knife) so it is kinda stupid of her to be so nonchalant and confident when plenty of people have been abducted in broad daylight.

If he ended up getting more into her from the start (which is what I would have been trying to do once I saw the empty chair), he probably would've told his A.I. to stop putting him in Zen mode once he started feeling all flustered around her, thus making it easier for her when she finally does strike

Simple, fight them in melee. That’s how they lose in Warhammer 40k.
Actually in the real 40k board game, TAU riflemen and most of their foot soldiers have a backup retreat ability(if they haven't already rolled and fired since it uses a move point) that literally allows them to deflect a melee charge. If they are not forced into melee combat, meaning they have no action points or charged them back to deflect the charge bonus then a good TAU player can literally avoid every melee encounter. If the unit has a high move roll, then they can also fire after avoiding a melee attack, getting a bonus against a recovering unit which failed to engage melee. God TAU are so fucking dumb, I hate anyone who plays them.

Unlikely possibilities aren't easily calculated and dealt with like a chess player.
Likelyhood is a factor but their chances aren't as easy to be determined....
