I was told by a Vet that this condition was called "backward sneezing" and that it was not a big deal... well evidently that isn't true! Many of my little dogs have had this and I can't help them any longer cuz they have all since passed away but the one Chihuahua I have left suffers from this once in a while and I typically just hold her head in an upwards position and it tends to help relieve it after a few minutes. She's now 14 and has other issues going on and is basically at the end of her life, so I'm keeping her as comfortable as possible until she leaves me but if I see she's in pain, I will not let her live this way. She was born in my home and I love her dearly. She's a Deer head Chihuahua and the sweetest thing ever. I've been blessed to have her all of her life and I'm sure she feels the same. Thank you Doc, wish I had been given the correct information on this condition years ago. ❤
I'm so glad I've finally came across some helpful information on this because my vet was treating this as if it were allergies and giving my shih tzu allergy meds and antibiotics that were actually making him more ill. I'll definitely be trying some of these remedies because other than this problem my almost 12 year old boy seems pretty healthy
It’s so hard to lose our precious babies. They provide us with such pure love. I’m still dreaming about my last dog going on 7 years ago. In spite of the hurt they are SO worth it ❤
Yes I know what you mean and it took me seven long years to finally get over the unbearable pain of my beautiful Fawn pug dog dying in my arms July 2nd 1993 ! Finally after about 7 years or more i wasn't thinking of her every single day and getting all choked up and crying . Yes it's like losing a little 4 year old child with fur it's really unbearably painful
The vet said my boy had a collapsed tracia, I had him on medication.I watched so many of your videos and i have the upmost respect for you and all you do and share with us .However on a Friday night in April, my Best Friend Kenai started breathing strange ,I took him to the vet he had a xray and had a tumour up against his tracia ,worst day of my life .I did everything you recommend everything. I believe that the Flea and Tick solutions we give our pets is making them ill . I cry everyday since I had to send Kenai over the rainbow bridge.. He was a Wired Haired Jack Russell and I had him since he was born . Thankyou for everything you do 🙏 ❤
I agree, I never gave my dog anything the vet recommended but shes elderly now and has some issues. Sorry about your boy. Until you see him again in heaven be well.
My American Eskimo developed this about 2 years ago. The vet said he would be gone in about 1 month. We were heartbroken. We ordered all the homeopathic meds and CBD. He still gets the CBD. But soon after that appointment he was coughing and he sneezed and the coughing stopped. After that, I taught him to sneeze on command because sneezing stopped the cough. He still coughs sometimes but will sneeze and it stops. He’s 13 now and is playing again with our 3 year old dog chasing and tug of war. Happy dog and very happy doggy parents. Our Vet is amazed!
My 17 years old corgi sometimes coughs.😢Vet says it is her heart. I know she is at the end of her life. I make her comfortable, and I think she is happy. She sleeps a lot. She likes to play with the other senior dogs, and she likes to walk in the garden😊 I like this vet a lot.❤ Greetings from Spain❤
If your dog is taking any medications slippery elm will prevent them from being absorbed because it coats the lining. Just make sure to give the slippery elm a couple hours before or a couple of hours after the medications.
just had the first mild episode of this and I did contribute it to a walk with a collar. She had never done this before! She pulls on the leash. No more walks with collars! I normally use a halter, but was out at the mailbox for just that short trip and she wanted so bad to keep walking. I should have gone back and switched to the halter. She has stopped doing the odd cough after a few hours. Never again walking with a collar! I will give her honey tonight. This just happened today and up popped your video. God did that!
Give the bee pollen and the SPECIFIC COLLAGEN. Not just any. I started my dog on a different special kind anc I’m shocked after years (and losing another dog from TC) she was almost completely well after just a few weeks. Start very slowly. Trust me. Start slowly!!!
My little pomchi is have tracheal collapse and it’s so painful to hear her wheezing, coughing, whining all day and night. I prayed so many times for God to guide me and her doctor on what to do. This morning I wake up and this video appears on my feed without me ever searching for this condition. I thank God dearly. Will try these home remedies along with her vets prescribed meds. ❤🙏🏻
My beloved Carusso died due to tracheal collapse. it's been 3 years and still hurts, specially bc he was dying and I couldn't do anything more than saying thank you for all the love and beautiful moments he gave us. Thank you so much Doc! Definitely will be trying this with my lovely maltipoo Candy that now is 10 y/o and started to have that same type of cough which really scares me and makes me sad.
Start collagen way slowky!!! It only took less than three weeks to help my dog but you must continue forever. Well I did until she passed for some other illness.
The link between the liver and trachea and oesophagus is interesting. I notice humans who have liver problems often develop issues with swallowing. Doctors seem to be ignoring this, at present. I have a rescue French Bulldog, whose appalling inter-breeding causes breathing and skin issues. So grateful to have Dr. Tim for trustworthy, well researched, help and advice. 😊♥️
@rtee3680 I gradually introduced everything except the harness, I switched everyone to a harness several years ago. I haven't needed to use the slippery elm in a while, as that can cause diarrhea. I give collagen, milk thistle, pumpkin, CBD daily
@rtee3680 I introduced one ingredient at a time at a smaller dose. Too much collagen can cause stomach upset so add that gradually. Slippery elm can cause diarrhea so again, start small and slow. In addition to all the other things, I add a little turmeric to each meal, I also give them canned pumpkin.
@rtee3680the collagen is not just any collagen. These specific collagens truly work but man start small if you get sick pup with the runs at least. It has to be given daily but take it SLOW and eventually he will get accustomed to it. Btw plain pumpkin helps diarrhea if it should happen. My dog would get diarrhea but fine the next day until I went slower. Bed pollen collagen slippery elm and honey.
@@ericafrench4845Dr jones sells the correct kind or DrAriel ultra flex collagen so IF U DONT BUY DR JONES here , research this. Worked for us in a few weeks but you keep them on it. Start VERY small. It’s hard on Tummy.
My French bulldog stopped snoring and now sleeps peacefully after I bought two air purifiers from AEG, worth their weight in gold. The problem is that I live in central London and now I notice the pollution in the street and I never did before. Also, on another subject, I recently got pneumonia and discovered it is because I am a mouth breather and I now wear MIOTAPE Which encourages my mouth to stay closed when I sleep and it is amazing, and instead of waking up with a mouthful of sawdust, I sleep pretty comfortably and don’t need water during the night. It is so damaging breathing through your mouth worth investigating for anybody who does that and for 77 years, I was doing it. Namaste 🙏
Makes a good case for not using any choker chains on any dogs. That's what we were taught to use in the 70s when I was learning to control my large dog. A halter wouldn't help with her. I guess now they use head halters? Safer. Gentle leaders I think they call them.
So my Dachshunds all had this , I never walked them with a collar. Was also told by my Vet that this was normal in small dogs and not to worry it wasn't life threatning. 🧐 Always disbelieved this but when all the vets tell you this what can be done. So glad there is this information now from a vet. It can help my babies anymore, in future now i know better. 🙏
Please do his bed pollen and specific special collagen (don’t cheat on the collagen) it WORKS!!! My dog dyed with TC. I’ve had three with this. The meds work fast but you don’t stop them.
I have a bichon/yorkie cross. 15 years old. She's developed a wheeze when she breathes in, only when she has her head looking up at us or when she lays on her side to sleep. I have a stethoscope and that spot you pointed to is exactly where the wheeze is. I just had her at the vet and he couldn't find anything except infected teeth without putting her out for xrays and whatever he decides to do when she's out. She's been through a round of antibiotics now and I'm working on her teeth daily with supplements you've suggested. She's now on a gently cooked, mostly raw diet now from our farm raised beef and whatever I put in that day from your suggestions. She does try to gag once in a while but not on a regular basis. She's really happy with the homemade food. She's not begging for what we eat anymore. I'm going to try some of these suggestions before I put her through the stress of being put out for tests. Thanks for all your videos...
@@calgram couldn’t agree more! We got our first corgi puppy last May and shortly after, I discovered this channel after searching for content that was more natural and holistic centered. It’s been a wonderful and trustworthy resource and for that, I’m so grateful. Now if I could only find a vet who was equally as good
My Maltipoo has been suffering from tracheal collapse for a year in a half now. I've watched your other videos in the issue. I found a supplement if you don't mind me mentioning it that has slippery elm and licorice root extract in it and is bacon flavored. It saved me from buying those separately. He has bad arthritis as well. For his arthritis and tracheal collapse I give him turmeric, the supplement I mentioned, CBD oil, and I joint support supplement everyday and he's doing so much better now. He just turned 14 and is acting 10yrs younger. He has energy and doesn't have trouble getting around and doesn't cough as much. And thank you for mentioning collagen, specificilly type 2. Now I'm gonna put him on that too.
@@PaperclipProphets if he doesn't mind me posting on his TH-cam channel here but it's called Throat Gold from Pet Wellbeing. And thanks. My boy is my world and would do anything for him. Bet wanted him on prescription injectable meds for his arthritis which is expensive and with side effects. He's doing well on a more natural way of managing his health.
OMG this is so helpful I have a male pitbull that my neighbors left behind bless his heart he coughs gags scares me I don't know what to do short of breath I will try this I don't mind taking him to the vet I live in disability so I don't have much income and he wears a harness but the people that had him before I Saw him tied up with a collar but he broke loose I thought about that him probably pulling on his leash messed him up I'm going to try what u recommend prayers it helps I really don't have the money for a vet but I don't want him to suffer thanks for sharing
Wow, three of us - I have a 13 yr old red heeler and he has this too. He's been on two rounds of antibiotics for pneumonia and it has helped with the coughing, then he starts again. I will try this protocol and see if this is the ticket.
Just in time, Dr. Jones!! My 13 year old Shih Tzu was diagnosed with tracheal collapse and I have the Guaifenesin Cough Tabs for him and also use the Elderberry Syrup you recommended. I wake up to him coughing, hacking, and honking at night and it always gets worse in the colder weather for him. I feel so bad, but there’s really not much else that can be done for the diagnosis. 💝
My Wire Fox girl is a rescue …she was debarked at 2 yrs old…she is now a happy healthy girl, not able to bark…but coughs frequently and chokes on food sometimes. I hate the person who debarked her for whatever reason…travelling to shows, nuisance barking etc…so heartbreaking…I worry when she dry coughs frequently. Thankyou Dr Jones..l
@@stillkickin9957 Thankyou for your support. I live in NSW Australia….she was sold from her breeder to a show breeder in the state of Queensland…she failed at show , then was used for breeding..horrid circumstances. It is illegal in NSW…exceptions are council complaints etc…but in Queensland she was used and abused legally…a nuisance barker…etc. Because I knew my NSW breeder Of my LONGTERM , 15 yrs old WFT…when she passed I contacted him for a new pup…he had none…but a “ returned “ girl of 4 yrs old. He is a good man…and paid the same cost of selling her previously…to a bad owner. He did not want his dogs dna to be used t,he way she was being….backyard breeding. I took her immediately…At a lower price…I’m a pensioner. She is the most intelligent , loving and gentle girl….there is much money involved in our poor pedigree, or even, just pretty pups…sad…She is now 9 and I have another rescue pup…Jack Russelll who I call my “ watchman “ when he barks , she tears down to join him…they’re good mates..but sadly nothing barks from her. I don’t think she suffers much , anymore, but I do avoid giving her certain foods , because her trachea will vomit lumps up.Even meats not chopped finely. I feed her as Dr Jones suggests…
My vet told me it was reverse sneezing, collapsed trachea. It was 8 months from the time it started and with a seizure until she died during a seizure. I did the things the vet suggested and gave the medications prescribed. Was told she'd probably live between 2 and 6 years. I was totally heartbroken when my Minnie (maltese) passed. Trachea collapse is very serious. Don't ignore it.
THANK YOU 🙏 for ALL of your advice!❤ My one dog passed from this cough & I can’t think about if I treated him sooner with your advice, rather than the steroids from the vet that made my dog gain weight and did NOTHING to help! I started doing all of the things you are recommending in this video and it cleared up his cough the month before he passed! 💔 The vet wanted us to pay $10,000 dollars for “surgery” that could have helped him live a few months longer. However, my dog being put under at his age would have killed him. My dog Lincoln had a GREAT quality of life the last month with NO cough and passed away peacefully and I wish I would have known & treated him sooner with your recommendation treatments in this video that actually worked!❤ (If we would not have had him on the steroids that made him gain weight & just used your treatment, we definitely would have had our Lincoln longer!💔🙏💔) THANK YOU!🙏
Makes SO much sense!!! My dog started doing it AFTER he found a bunny nest. He started pulling his chain as tight as he possibly could…. He wanted those babies so bad. He never did, but man, the strange cough started not long after. 😢
What is going on with the breeding? I've had dogs all my life and none of the 15 dogs had trachea collapse! It's very upsetting see so many have this cough.
My Pekingese had this years ago. Vet said no cure and surgery not always successful. I got a holistic health book for canine and bingo!!! It stated this is often due to food allergy. Vet was surprised but supportive. I put him on Science Diet ZD and he NEVER had another episode and lived 10+ years afterward
My rat terrier started that way and later in years he would pant alot til one day he couldn't breathe. I rushed him in and had to sadly put him down He was 13,it was devastating
My Terrier/pug mix has a mid-grade tracheal collapse. I had to so an x-ray/ultrasound to find out. He had the hacking cough for months and I though it was a dry throat because of me having a constant fan going. My vet prescribed cerena given every other day. Apparently it is discovered it works well for tracheal cough. It doesn't work for every dog. I tried the natural things, but this was the only think that works completely. Cerena is kinda expensive, but worth it not get that cough.
When I first got my little dog 10 years ago, I would put on a collar attached to her leash when we would go for a walk. She would become excited and pull real hard, then would cough a little. After a couple of weeks of this, I got her a harness and that solved the problem. Now, I notice that she has an occasional cough like the one shown on this video and am concerned that she has some tracheal collapse, most likely caused from the collar. Therefore, I think that using collars instead of a harness attached to a leash is not a good idea and probably causes or is a huge cause of this condition.
My chi pom suffers from this exzact problem so I will do and get everything you advised for this and I will definitely get her lblood test in for her liver done!!!!! THANKYOU THANKYOU so so much!!!!! I think my dog has this or some form of it. It’s def been less lately. I give her honey almost daily and the Curcumin on a daily basis. I also have an air purifier. I will consider adding the slippery elm too. I always wondered what was causing this. Thank you for this video!
Oh this was so helpful, doctor! I spent so much on xrays and scans cause the doctor told me it was his heart. But that turned out to be normal. Then he just gave me some gastro syrup and sent me home. He's been suffering for a year now.🥺 I will try out these remedies. Things like slippery elm and propolis aren't available locally here. But will try out the others. Thank you!
Unfortunately my Pomeranian recently died of liver failure, he had less and unfortunately the ultrasound showed nothing. We only found out about it at the last minute of not eating at all. but what I actually wanted to say was that he had a cough the last years and they wanted to give him pretnisone. which I declined because he was otherwise healthy and not coughing that much. and with the help of DR. Jones channel has become less! I wish I had known earlier that tracheal collapse and liver disease could be related. but good to know in case I take a pom again. I also hope that this can help other dogs! ❤
We are experiencing this now! I went to honey and coconut oil along with more wet food. Humidifier because dry air with the furnace on. I'm also a massage therapist of 20 plus years and so I have found 2 adhesions near her right chest, shoulder and her right back. Working with those are seeming to assist as well. I am pretty sure I am going to get certified in dog massage now! Curcumin! Will use that now too thank you. I can't believe this video just come to us this morning 🙌🙌 i am beyond grateful for all you share doc!!! THANK YOU!!
Hope to see video also, about potassium deficiency. Hypokalaemia symptoms in dogs. Our fur bby this year had problems w throat and similiar symptoms and has been doing much better after more food w potassium. Thank you for all your videos.
I took my 10 year old Pom to the Animal hospital because of the coughing & said her trachea is fine. It’s her heart, was told to take her to a Vet cardiologist because she has a heart murmur 😢.
My baby had her longest episode I’ve seen and it was really distressing to see. This video calmed me down a lot and luckily she’s finally calmed down and is sleeping now. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Awesome thankyou..I'm a practicing old school herbalist preparing tea blends and tinctures...I was really happy that I use the same recipes for us humans...stay blessed ..deep gratitude 🙏
Incredibly informative helpful info. You are making such a difference in animals lives helping guide their parents in this way. You can pay ridiculous amounts of money to see so called holistic vets and not get anywhere near the info you post in videos! Thank you for what you do!!❤ You clearly care about making dogs and cats lives better and longer!
A vet originally told me our dog had this condition as she was coughing. Several years later we find out it’s not her trachea but her enlarged heart. Now I find out that the grain free food I’ve been feeding my dog has contributed to the enlarged heart. No vet told me that part. I thought grain free was the way to go but research shows grain free food as the fillers in these foods are legumes contribute to enlarged hearts.
I wish I knew this 3 yrs ago. Our Golden had surgery for a skin growth on her lip. When they went to knock her out her trachea collapsed. Unfortunately we had to put her down. Her breathing became very laboured. It was heartbreaking.
I love all the natural, went to website and could not for life of me find that collagen supplement that you show here on this video...please I would like the link to that one product, to support and help rebuild the trachea, I have a little Chihuahua and he is coughing pretty regular now, he's 14 yrs old. I would like to try that collagen product...I do the local honey w/dandelion, it helps...thank you for all that you do
I trained my Australian Labradoodle to use an easy walk harness with a front loop from the time he was 8 weeks old, in order to avoid any possibility of trachea damage due to collar pressure.
Would have been nice to know before we lost our dog a few months ago. We were told it was called reverse sneezing. That the palit is too long and gets stuck the wrong way. The fits she would have a few times she went into panic. The stuff we would do was wait for her to take a breath and hold her nose, so she snorkled. It worked some times. Then patting her on the chest and a couple times i had to hold her upside down. If we caught it before she got bad, just sending her out to chase something usually stopped it. This makes more sense though as when ever we went for walks when she was younger she was always pulling so hard on her leash she made the goose noises. Our dog Bella was a puggle. She had a longer nose like a the beagle though. Miss her to bits. She nearly made it to 16.
Thank you, Dr. We lost our beloved toy poodle from this, and im still heartbroken how he suffered. Vet visit after vet visit, and none of this information was out there 10 years ago.
Really great info I just took all my animals to the vet and I have two Chihuahuas that have breathing respiratory issues and neither of them were checked for that. I believe my smallest Chihuahua probably does have that tracheal collapse issue because the vet did give her liver supplements when it was checked a couple years ago.
Wonderful information, my 5 pd Chih mix has this intermittently, I will do as you suggest. When I rescued her I was told it was "backward sneezing" which didn't make any sense...NOW I UNDERStand!! Thank you.
My pet dog Marley had this cough, I took Dr Andrew's advice and gave our Marley 1 teaspoon of Manuka honey 6 times a day for a 50lb dog, that was 10 days ago and he might caugh once a day usually when he getting up. Also if like our dog cleaning❤ teeth was a nightmare, but using coconut oil on a softish toothbrush did the trick, wish I had found out years ago and several teeth being removed at a cost of £750.00 Dr Andrew has many cost effective ways to treat our pets and they really work, I show Marley the toothbrush with a lump of coconut hardened oil and he opens his mouth no problem he loves the oil it also has antibiotics so it kills the buildup of ginger vitus..❤😊..
That’s good to know. Same happened with our Jack corgi mix. Several teeth removed. I have the silicone finger toothbrush for my dog. He might like the brushing better with coconut oil. I’ll share something back, if you have access to Avon Skin So Soft oil, instead of giving flea pills I get a 8 or 12oz spray bottle, add about 1 1/2 TBS to the spray bottle then fill the rest of the way with purified or distilled water, shake vigorously and spray it all over your pup and rub in. Make sure he’s wet all the way to the skin. Then let him or her airdry completely. It kills fleas and the larvae. Apply about 1x a week. It’s not an old wives tale, it really works. I haven’t researched but maybe fractionated coconut oil (non solidifying kind) might do the same if you aren’t able to get Avon SOS. Thank you for sharing from across the pond.
My concern is giving my dog honey or propolis because he has diabetes. He gets 2 shots of insulin daily. Is it safe to give him honey or propolis? I need an answer please.
Thank you for this video. ❤ I have a 17 year old Yorkiepoo that does the reverse sneeze and has tracheal collapse. I will definitely try some of these suggestions. I feel so bad for him when he has a coughing fit.
Our family got a Jack Russell, Rat Terrier mix from flooding somewhere in TN 3 years ago. He was a puppy. Omg…the most loving dog ever, but Wowzer!! Die he have the energy!! But we handle him well with lots of exercise. Anyways, when playing, he will stop and start coughing? It stops, but it’s scary. And if he drinks water to fast it starts, but I get that. It’s really not bad, but I do worry when he starts.. we stop playing of course and he overcomes it. My worry? What if it doesn’t stop?
My Lil Pomsky was born with it. It only happens when he drinks. So upsetting, he can't drink without choking (or it sounds like he's choking) & I can't help him. Thank you Doc, will try your advice. VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! ❤❤❤ 🙏
I have been suspecting this for a few years. I was referred to a specialist who scoped his throat. All they said was there was some inflammation and gave an antibiotic. He still as it. I thought of honey and put a little smear on a couple of small soft dog bones. Will try the other.
After watching this, I think my little dog had this because of the coughing, wheezing sound. When I discussed with my vet I was told not to worry about it. She has now passed away of pancreatitis.
Thank you Dr.Jones. My Pom has trouble catching her breath sometimes when she eats. I have a collar on her, since she lost her front left leg last year. I can no longer use a harness, since her surgery.
After Foxie eats I hold her up on my lap and pat her back for about 30 minutes. It helps the food to digest and travel down where it needs to go. Make sure the food/ water bowl is at chin height.
She was born in my home and I love her dearly. She's a Deer head Chihuahua and the sweetest thing ever. I've been blessed to have her all of her life and I'm sure she feels the same. Thank you Doc, wish I had been given the correct information on this condition years ago. ❤
There is backwards sneezing too It happens with dogs with pushed in faces quite a lot.

I'm so glad I've finally came across some helpful information on this because my vet was treating this as if it were allergies and giving my shih tzu allergy meds and antibiotics that were actually making him more ill. If your dog is taking any medications slippery elm will prevent them from being absorbed because it coats the lining. Just make sure to give the slippery elm a couple hours before or a couple of hours after the medications.
Good to know thank you
Thank you so much
just had the first mild episode of this and I did contribute it to a walk with a collar.
@@SayHelloToOblivion That's what happened to me! I wasn't searching for it! May the Lord answer your prayer for the little pomchi's healing.
Don’t you just love divine intervention? I do! God bless you AND your little fur baby! ❤🙏🏼✝️
this is just what my 12 years old poodle mix sounds like. thank you
He is a true gift from God ! ❤❤❤
Every pug I have lived with ( 5 ) has had this. That’s why we use a halter-never a collar. I give plain honey because it seems to soothe. 🤠💕🐾🐾
My beloved Carusso died due to tracheal collapse. it's been 3 years and still hurts, specially bc he was dying and I couldn't do anything more than saying thank you for all the love and beautiful moments he gave us. Thank you so much Doc! Definitely will be trying this with my
lovely maltipoo Candy that now is 10 y/o and started to have that same type of cough which really scares me and makes me sad.
Get the bed pollen and his SPECIFIC TYPE COLLAGEN. Not just any collagen cuz it worked for my 15 yo Maltese after my chihuahua died from it.
Liver storage disease Glycogen storage disease my Shitzu Yorkie does has thus and does this coughing .
Very interesting! Thanks for sharing!
My pup is suffering with this now. So glad I watched you ,thank you ,so much
Make sure it’s not congestive heart failure. That’s what was wrong with my baby. He lived about 3 years after the diagnosis.
I do all these things and mine have not had tracheal collapse in months! All good advice!
Where did you get the collagen & is it powder, pill form, or?
I call it a harness😊
Thank you Our people and veterinarians really need to be trained better in this country when it comes to animal health, medicine, and wellness!
You are most welcome! You can get a copy of my free book at www.veterinarysecrets.com
So my Dachshunds all had this , I never walked them with a collar. Was also told by my Vet that this was normal in small dogs and not to worry it wasn't life threatning. 🧐
Always disbelieved this but when all the vets tell you this what can be done.
Prayers and Hugs
I learn so much from your videos. Thank you for helping me be a better dog parent.
God bless you for being such a great human to your dog 🙏 May I ask what brand is the bacon flavored licorice and slippery elm ?
@@PaperclipProphets if he doesn't mind me posting on his TH-cam channel here but it's called Throat Gold from Pet Wellbeing. And thanks. My boy is my world and would do anything for him. Bet wanted him on prescription injectable meds for his arthritis which is expensive and with side effects. He's doing well on a more natural way of managing his health.
@@PaperclipProphets looks like my reply telling what the product is was removed. Guess he doesn't want me to mention it.
@BridgetteWest-x4r I'd mention the product but it gets deleted off this channel when I do.
Thats exactly how our 13yr blue heeler sounds!
Same here!!!! I have a heeler/ausie mix and that is what is going on with him..😢
Wow, three of us - I have a 13 yr old red heeler and he has this too. He's been on two rounds of antibiotics for pneumonia and it has helped with the coughing, then he starts again. I will try this protocol and see if this is the ticket.
Love binge watching Dr. Andrew Jones video and because I get to diagnose my friend’s pets or any pets 😂
Oh that poor little pup 😭😭😭I’m so glad she now has a loving home with u ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Get her heart checked out.
Debarked! I've never heard of that. 😮
Horrable! Dogs are supposed to bark
Yes I was told reverse sneezing!
I had 3 Boston Terriers, they all did this...wish I'd have known
THANK YOU 🙏 for ALL of your advice!❤ My one dog passed from this cough & I can’t think about if I treated him sooner with your advice, rather than the steroids from the vet that made my dog gain weight and did NOTHING to help! I started doing all of the things you are recommending in this video and it cleared up his cough the month before he passed! 💔
The vet wanted us to pay $10,000 dollars for “surgery” that could have helped him live a few months longer. However, my dog being put under at his age would have killed him. My dog Lincoln had a GREAT quality of life the last month with NO cough and passed away peacefully and I wish I would have known & treated him sooner with your recommendation treatments in this video that actually worked!❤ (If we would not have had him on the steroids that made him gain weight & just used your treatment, we definitely would have had our Lincoln longer!💔🙏💔)
THANK YOU!🙏
Makes SO much sense!!!
My son’s dog has that goose honking cough…but it isn’t persistent. More like occasionally. Good to know. Thank you so much! 🙏🏻
My rat terrier started that way and later in years he would pant alot til one day he couldn't breathe. I rushed him in and had to sadly put him down
He was 13,it was devastating
@@corinnetodd4807 I’m so sorry for your loss. 🩵 It is so very devastating. 😢
Have you read up on the side effects of Cerenia? Kind of scary. And definitely should not be used in pets with heart or liver issues.
Coolest Vet Dr ever
Thanks! You’ve saved our dog and given him a happy life!!❤
Thank you for your support!

I think my dog has this or some form of it. It’s def been less lately. I give her honey almost daily and the Curcumin on a daily basis. I also have an air purifier. I will consider adding the slippery elm too.
I always wondered what was causing this. Thank you for this video!
Can you please give helpful remedies for seizures?
Thank you so much! I almost ran to the vet and spent a lot of money. You’re a hero
Oh this was so helpful, doctor! I spent so much on xrays and scans cause the doctor told me it was his heart. But that turned out to be normal. Then he just gave me some gastro syrup and sent me home. He's been suffering for a year now.🥺
I will try out these remedies.
Wowww!!!!!!! Thank you so much for this video, explains a lot and extremely helpful ‼️‼️❣️❣️❣️
Both my poms have this!
My Boston does this after drinking water.
Mine too sometimes. I thought he was getting water in his nose
@skulltaylor1616 I read somewhere that if you cover one nostril, it helps. I do that. Also, pat her back and sway her shoulders.
@@Andrea-64 how do u cover a dogs nose while he drinks?
@skulltaylor1616 after she drinks, just one nostril. She doesn't do it while she's drinking.

Just love your videos, so help and love the more natural healing you suggest
I appreciate that!
I wish I knew this 3 yrs ago. Our Golden had surgery for a skin growth on her lip. When they went to knock her out her trachea collapsed. Unfortunately we had to put her down. Her breathing became very laboured. It was heartbreaking.
I lost mine at the vet too...something about coming home w that empty carrier 😢💔
My heart goes out to you
My dogs coughing ended up being stage 4 Heart Failure! She is still surviving today on heart meds twice a day.
How about bone broth?
I love all the natural, went to website and could not for life of me find that collagen supplement that you show here on this video...please I would like the link to that one product, to support and help rebuild the trachea, I have a little Chihuahua and he is coughing pretty regular now, he's 14 yrs old. I would like to try that collagen product...I do the local honey w/dandelion, it helps...thank you for all that you do
Thank you so much for this helpful information. ❤😊
I trained my Australian Labradoodle to use an easy walk harness with a front loop from the time he was 8 weeks old, in order to avoid any possibility of trachea damage due to
collar pressure.
To stop backwards sneezing in your dog, simply gently hold the nose for a little while until they stop. Works for me.
Going to try this and thanks!

I’ve been using manuka honey. A brand for dogs and a little bit of MCT oil. It’s been working great.

doc is great
My Lil Pomsky was born with it. It only happens when he drinks. So upsetting, he can't drink without choking (or it sounds like he's choking) & I can't help him. Thank you Doc, will try your advice. VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! ❤❤❤ 🙏
Check for mould
I have been suspecting this for a few years. I was referred to a specialist who scoped his throat. All they said was there was some inflammation and gave an antibiotic. He still as it. I thought of honey and put a little smear on a couple of small soft dog bones. Will try the other.
ya i am familiar with this, i have two chihuahuas and a chi/terrier mix. thankfully it doesnt happen often.
After watching this, I think my little dog had this because of the coughing, wheezing sound. When I discussed with my vet I was told not to worry about it. She has now passed away of pancreatitis.
There is a reverse sneeze, they are close, but you can tell the difference if you hear both.
I've been asking vets what this is and I just get a blank stare. Thank you
