  • Video shows the entire 11 miles and 318 corners of my first time through the Dragon. (Mid October 2021) This is the first in a series of videos I will make on the notable roads we hit on our 2300 mile 5 motorcycle trip. I share my thoughts on the road, a couple of tips and also review the Kawasaki Ninja 1000sx performance on the highway and on the twisty Dragon.
If you are interested in comparing the DJI Osmo Action to a GoPro Hero 8 you can see footage from both in this video.

You will have to check out the back of the dragon in Virginia, good video. I’m really considering this bike

Thanks, heard a lot about the Dragon, looks like a lot of fun. Love the way the cars pull over to let you pass, wish they did that here in Australia.

The road is so legendary locals understand a lot of people speeding on the road are probably out there touring so they respect it

I am 6’4” and I have the same bike as you! An aftermarket windscreen was the first thing I got, I was right in the buffer. Puig makes a really good screen I highly recommend

What a great ride. Thank you. Spoilt only by the blanked out dashboard. This is definitely the best road I have have seen in a video from the USA.

I prefer the amazing Roads in Arkansas, The Pig Trail, Scenic 7 Hwy Bypass, Push Mountain Road & the Arkansas Dragon....Love all of them! Better Roads, way less Traffic, in fact on the Dragon you can cover the whole thing and sometimes never see Car, just an occasional farmer on an ATV.

I love watching your channel I know you block your speed. But I like watching you down shift a while you corner, wish you could show that.

sarcastic or not. Please don't encourage beginners doing that stuff. They wont grow old and see tomorrow.

Great video! I'm loving my new 1KSX! Where did you guys travel from to get to the area, and how did that go?

We did a big loop, starting and stopping near Tulsa ok… did a large part of the Natchez trace and some great roads in Arkansas…. I love the ninja for long distance travel.

Thanks for the great vids. Can you recommend the Kawi tailbag? Did you consider any others and why did you choose the Kawi bag? I need some extra storage for weekend trips in addition to the panniers. Thanks!

    • @DansADV

I may add that to a future video review.... I can recommend the Kawi bag. I first purchased a cheap amazon generic tail bag (because I'm cheap). It had two drawbacks.. The plastic buckles where exposed, inviting someone to easily remove the entire bag, it also looked like the buckles would rub the paint. So I decided to go with the factory bag. The Kawi bag fits the seat like a glove. It is also very quick to remove and reinstall, I take it into the hotel every night when I travel. The rear seat comes off with a key, then two Velcro straps and the seat is off. The bag appears to be made by GIVI, (inside tag says Givi) but I don't know if they have a non-Kawasaki version with the same dimensions. I like how the bag expands... I do not think it is actually water proof... hope that helps.

I'm a bit confused. Your kawa engine revs to 11k rpm. Thats 55mph 1 gear. And second gear you reach 80 mph. You can leave it in second and use the whole rev range. Also not sure why you shift manually when you hava a quick shifter. You need to work on your shifting and breaking before corners. Quite scary to hear you miss your downshift hitting the corners and butcher the gearbox. You tried to many things at once. And also trailbreaking in the tight stuff will make your bike settle the front. Front was diving to much and, jerky on the throttle. So suspension adjustment for sporty riding, before the twisties would help alot to settle the bike. You can have your suspension settings written down on your phone depending on what riding your doing.

Are you planning to replace the exhaust? Not too many options out there I am leaning toward the Yoshimura which sounds like it has a deeper sound. I will be interested to know your thoughts. Nice ride!

I replaced with akrapovic… basically no advantage other than looks, but I saw a used one on fb, and couldn’t pass it up
