    Excellent videos and a testament to your professionalism. I would love you guys to give my 997.1 a refresh. Would definitely consider buying one of your cars as well. Don’t lose the passion fellas. 👍

    Brilliant work guys. I bought a 997.2 c4s this year so this has given me a few hints to double check through the paperwork on mine to see when those bits were last inspected. Your videos are a constant demonstration of the passion and energy you have for the Porsche brand and is lovely to see.

    Great video. Have a 09 Gen 2 base cab with 13000 miles. Only use it in the summer as it has no corrosion.

    Very much appreciated insight. Basically if one is interested, there is nothing really new, still to see it is a good thing. Also about the spark plugs - I did not know that those are so labour intensive on 997.2 cars. Also I was not aware that the heat shields are similar in terms of work. I always like the closing thoughts driving the customers car for a test drive. If I was in England (and I had a Porsche), you would be my pick to service it. L-I-K-E!

    Great video. Just went thru this on my ‘11 C4S. You didn’t mention the third heat shield over the cat converter, although I saw a used one in your used parts. I dropped the manifold and removed the O2 sensor to change that shield as well. Plug change at the same time. Thought I was missing something taking so much apart, but I see now it was necessary. Keep the videos coming. Canada, eh!

    I’ve had a minor hesitation/ running issue on my 996 which through a process of guesswork and starting with the simplest things first turned out to be the coil packs. Looks like a lot more work to change them on the 997.2!

    Thanks for your fantastic videos. At 9:26, removal of lower heat shield, is it possible to modify the bolting so that it is not necessary to do all that work to replace coil packs and plugs? Would that leave you enough room, with catalytic converter still mounted, to change the coils and plugs?

    Question: I have a 987.2 and was shocked by how many components needed replacing… makes sense that the car has just hit 60k miles. Would you buy a 80k miles car that’s had all the work done or pay significantly more for a lower mile car, and all the associated work?

  • @johnennis3542
    @johnennis3542 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video as always. I may have the opportunity to buy a 2008 997.2 with 12,000 miles. Would this work need doing regardless of mileage?

    • @friendsgreenporsche5234
      @friendsgreenporsche5234  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John,
      It’s unlikely to need the corroded bits (ie the coil pack heat shields and shock absorbers). But the routine maintenance (PDK service & major service interval etc) should be completed. Oil and fluids degrade over time, regardless to mileage.
      Anyway.. Get it bought!

    Have you guys encountered any 997.2 PDKs making a thump or clunk feeling when slowing to a stop? Seems to happen when the gearbox is disengaging first gear and putting itself into neutral right before the car completely stops. Curious if the 12 year service helps in this regard, or if there’s something else I should look into?

    • @friendsgreenporsche5234
      @friendsgreenporsche5234  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have encountered this and the clutch servicing has remedied it. Usually it’s because there’s a leak and the fluid is low. If run with too little fluid for a sustained period it’s likely to damage the gearbox.
