- Further to my recent video of finding a TLC antique doll at the Flea market, here I will share my process of repairing and rescuing this poor little doll. She is an antique Armand Marseille with kid leather body and bisque shoulder head with brown sleep eyes. She needs some major repairs. Lets see how I do.
It so special as it is to find such a pretty 100-year old doll, and you did an amazing job on the repairs! Thank you for sharing your journey with Flora. Can’t wait to see more of her. ❤
You are so kind. I appreciate your comments and thanks for watching! :)
What a loving restoration Cheryl! I love the way you thoughtfully mended her freestyle like a sculptor! If only she could tell us her history over 100 years! She looks beautiful!
Such a high compliment to compare my work to sculpting. How very kind of you. I too would love to hear the stories she has to tell!
You did a beautiful job on her! ❤You preserved her history while giving her new life.
I appreciate your kind comment so much! I hope she will stay in tact for another 100 years. :)
Looks like a professional restoration to me! You should be very proud of yourself, thank you so much for all the talents and hard work you put into this project, and video 🕊️❤️😊🌈
Aww thank you so much! Your supportive comments mean so much. I really enjoy fixing up these old dolls. I hope I find another to save soon!
Great repair job on a lovely antique doll. I look forward to seeing her displayed in your home.
I appreciate you watching. I will post a picture soon with my antique dolls together on display.
Cheryl, she looks so very happy that you put the time and effort into fixing her up. You would never know that all of that is under her dress. :) Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate that Beth, Yes we girls know a good dress can hide a lot! I think she is a little treasure and I'm happy to have found her and refreshed her a little. Have a lovely weekend. :)
Awww she has such a sweet face🥰 she has a nice home now! You did such a great job on her repairs! So professional! Thank you for sharing!❤️
I appreciate your comment so much. I really enjoyed this project. It was a lot of work. I cut out tons of footage. There were some real struggles but we got it done! She could use some more work on her eyes and hair but I will leave that for another time. Thank you Robin!
Great job!! You rescued and restored a beautiful doll 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👌🏻
I'm so happy you are here and thank you so much!
She looks wonderful, good job!
Thank you so much for watching and for your very kind comment. :)
Awesome job Cheryl. You did a beautiful job. ❤Dee
👏 Surgery is a success! You just have to figure it out as you go. Glad you saved her mobility! The more you do, the more you learn. You got a bargain in Flora.
I appreciate your nice comment. Yes I believe it is just a matter of practice and figuring things out. I can't wait to find another one to work on. Maybe one day I will fix her even better with no leaks at all. I would also like to learn how to fix her eyeballs. I think she needs wax or paint on her lids. At least they still rock properly and the paint loss doesn't show with her eyes open. Take care :)
@@CherishedDollFriends I used to get Doll Reader,Doll World and have many books on repair. Of course you now have videos. Good luck on your next find. 😊
Wow!! This was so interesting to watch, I couldn’t believe she had saw dust inside her legs! You did a terrific job! ❤
Thank you so much for watching Bailey! It was a fun process but stressful at times! LOL I like to save the old dolls. :)
Beautiful job! I love how careful you were with her and when you mentioned that you thought her dress was too big I imagined the little girl who owned her carrying her around. Who knows what she originally wore! My granddaughter likes her dolls naked! LOL
Thank you so much. Yes this doll was certainly loved by somebody! I was happy that I could preserve her for a little longer. I love imagining what her life was life before I found her!
Wonderful job of restoring such a lovely doll. Gorgeous dress. 😘🤗
Thank you so much. It was a journey but I think she is a little better off. 🙏😊

Wow! A step back in time with this dolly. You’ve practically made her new again. Will you be painting her eyelids?
I wonder what her hair is made of? Back then, I believe they used animal hair. This restoration was not stressful as I thought it would be for me 😅❤
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your kind words. I may try and fix her eyelids some day but I need to learn more about it first. Her hair is actually a human hair wig. I'm glad it wasn't stressful for you. It was for me! LOL
Oh you did it! What a special piece Cheryl, you must love her so much!
Did you say how much she weighs?
Thank you Blaine! I really appreciate that. I enjoyed the project very much. I think she is a beautiful doll. It was the love of antique dolls that piqued my interest in the historical American girl dolls. So I weighed her on my postal scale...with her clothes and part of her stand she is 2 pounds 9 oz. She is 22 inches tall. My AG Samantha is of course 18" and she weighs 1 pound 14 oz in her clothes. I look forward to seeing your next video too!
@@CherishedDollFriends oh! I really thought she’d be heavier! I was expecting 5lbs, that she’s weighted to feel like a baby. But that’s much more manageable lol
I think the kid leather and sawdust are pretty light. I would say her bisque head has an equal weight to her body. She is more of a child fashion doll than a baby doll. Like an American Girl from 1910😄
