Took a 3-4 month break from "the hustle". Now, I'm going on my own pace. Still thinking about it too much when I shouldn't be. Man, this video is refreshing to watch after a break though! Definitely doing more videos in the near future about the good ol' nikon dslrs and f-mount lenses.
I’m trying to not go on a break from burn out but these videos are so time consuming when it comes to photography. Well at least when you are trying to pump one out every week lol
Used to do photo stuff on this channel, reviews etc. been a couple years. Im deciding to get back into it, but with a new channel. I live on Guam now and primarily do underwater photography, so i want to showcase that plus Guams beauty, through videos and photography
Just looking through your channel is inspiring because i see that you are putting out content that looks like it is really a passion. Thats something that i want for myself as well
I can’t lie, the content creation side of things isn’t truly a priority at the moment but someday it will be. Surprisingly, I get a lot of ppl that want to know how I do specific things, editing, lighting, workflow, business aspects, etc… and that’s why I started doing content creation and social media. Luckily for me, I’ve been a product reviewer years before I got on social media. It makes it easier to relate with a wide genre when you are versatile in brands and techniques. If I had some type of consistency, I’d probably see marginal gains but I just work too much 😅.
Being a product review is also being a content creator lol and whether you show your face on a lot of your stuff or not you are still a content creator bro!
@@RyanTroy I agree, when I post short clips of products on social media, it’s definitely content creation. Most of my product, business and location reviews are in written form, so I personally don’t group that into my content creation category. I probably only showcase about 2% of what I actually do on social media, and those are usually the things that relate to photography, but I definitely see your point bro ✊🏽. Hopefully I can get around to taking it more seriously.
The sad Reality is most folks will Never make a Dime off of yTube no matter how hard they try and or how talented they are. Plus Ytube keeps feeding most folks the same old TRASH daily. So how are the really good NEW content creators going to survive that. Like you, I literally have endless interest. The other day, I picked up on a a channel I never heard of before, 3 on 3 Podcast about sports. They went from literally almost NO Views to have videos with Thousands of views simply because of the Current Clark WNBA mess. If that cools down, that might just go back to almost the same. The early adopters are the one at most advantage and the newcomers almost have to catch lighting in a bottle.
I’m sorry but I would have to disagree with some of that. I consider myself a small channel and I’ve made quite a lot off TH-cam and if we add the products up that factors in. But I do see a lot of people in the photography niche that complain about competing but in order to make content you need the gear and since people want to learn how to make the content they are searching for people to teach them how to use the gear. And everyone wants to make videos on how to use the gear. So I think subject matter and personality and consistency will really show results. Also… these people that are on tik tok with little 1 minute videos are making so much. I know of a small creator that got 500 just to do a 60 short on editing software.
@@RyanTroy Before there was Ytube and Tik Tok, or the internet, Data has always shown that most Businesses fail. The internet has not changed that one bit. So I wouldn't confuse a few success stories that appear to be many by the far larger number of failures. I don't say this to discourage folks but just letting folks know that's just the Hard Reality of Business. Hope is a very powerful thing, Reality is far more powerful. By the way, I just subscribed. It's not about me, it's about you. Pun intended.
@@RyanTroy To basically test part of what I have stated, I just looked for reviews of a given camera and reviewer, Diana Gladney, she is as good or better then any reviewer with a Mil Plus Subs. But her channel was literally buried underneath most other channels with far more Subs. So unless one knew her name, most would likely never even find her. That's a Huge problem. I literally never see her on my Recommended out of the Blue list. But those Blank folks always are.
I am a streamer on Twitch which has been fun for the time I’ve been doing it. Recently, I was in the market for a mirrorless cam to replace my Elgato webcam to improve my quality but also not break the bank. Long story short, it took 3 weeks total to find a cam (decided on the Sony ZV -E10) but also having to piece soo many videos together to make that informed decision. The majority of the videos about the cam focused more on video recording and photos out in the world and the videos that are catered to streaming were bare bones and not what I was fully looking for. Looks like this might be a space I need to enter possibly once I get my time up with the cam. Now my next thing I’m trying to learn is how to properly light darker skin since I have a better quality cam for my streams. It was not something I had to fully worry about since I was just using a webcam.
One thing i will tell you is there is this thing called the rabbit hole that many people go down and i feel victim to it as well when trying to up my quality.. there will be things people will try to sell you and you will end up with a lot of useless stuff.. but once you understand lighting you will know what you need... believe it or not this video actually has a 5 light set up.. and im stilllll not happy with it lol also the camera that you have is more than enough for streaming so you will do good with it.
i see content creation as the new "stock photos" option.. even if you dont want to show your face there are so many things that we can do to produce content for extra money with the tools we already have.

Nice talk, this needed to be said. Do it for the love and passion.
I agree. Lots of new photographers becoming teachers. Or showing. Which is fine. But they forgot about the passion. Love the concept!
I appreciate you bro!! this message was perfect timing 🙏🏾
Anytime!

@@RyanTroy yep and my main lesson is to say NO right away if it doesn't sound like something I want to do lol.
