It's been about 6 months or so since the Google Pixel 6 has been released and today we're taking a look at how the phone's holding up and how the software updates its gotten over the past few months have changed the way it looks and performs. Plus, we're taking a look at the final build of Android 13 running on the Pixel 6, and there's actually a lot of changes to the UI that other people haven't talked about, so let's take a look at the Pixel 6, 6 months later with Android 13 in August 2022.

I think Android 13 on the Pixel 7 is gonna be smooth af! It was a good idea to release it now before the 7 is out to fine tune it with real users on real devices out in the wild. Wouldn't be surprised if the Pixel 7 launches with 13.1 or something like that, I'm loving it!
I love the pixels got a OG pixel Xl, Samsung note 10+ and a base model iPhone 13. My only issue is google tensor being a customized exynos. So performance isn’t as good as snapdragon 8 gen 1 or apple a15. It has mail gpu so if you do emulation although it does surprise and emulate even GameCube pretty well there’s only so much you can get cause of the drivers that are on snapdragon for more compatibility. Google needs to use that money they have and make a chip ground up like apple. Only then will they outperform others. Like battery life should be better than any other android being fully stock. And that’s not the case.

@@robmalcolm8042 the mali gpu isn't that bad in the pixel 6 and it takes some time to build a cpu from the ground up, it took apple 4 years i think
@@keylianembape well I forgot what kind of test it was maybe app opening or something but google pixel was the second fastest to the iPhone and Samsung was even slower. So there is potential it was like 5 seconds for iPhone and pixel was 5 something I forgot what kind of test it was tho and Samsung was 7 seconds. And vulkan performance on pixel is the highest of any android according to geekbench so even tho it doesn’t have the highest single core and multi core of android or iPhone the optimization is almost as quick as iPhone. Shit even the old pixel I got is pretty quick for 2016 with only minor hiccups mostly
@@robmalcolm8042 yeah i mean these days phones are so fast its a matter of milliseconds, but benchmarks aren't great to me, they don't translate well to real world performance, tensor is great for a 1st gen chip but the modem is bad and, its not very efficient, and its silicon lottery with it
The best thing for me about android 13 is that gestures on 3rd party launchers seem to work perfectly at last. The only thing I don't like about my Pixel 6 is the awful home screen layout. At last I can get rid of the ever present search bar, that awful massive widget at the top, and get a 6x5 app grid to make use of the screen without having to use the old 3 button navigation

i have google pixel 6 and when i listen to music the voice drops... i just installed android 13 and the voice is the same again

Hey there, awesome video! I want to buy the Pixel 7. Do you know if I miss any features if I dont go with the Pro Model? I like the design and size of the Pixel 7 more than the Pro model, but want to have a Software features. Am I missing something out with the Regular Pixel 7?
I think the only feature you’ll miss out on is (typically) the telephoto lens and bigger battery. But that’s pretty much it.
Probably more ram too which helps. The 6 had 8gb ram and the 6 pro had 12gb ram
Should I format after the update?
Any drop in phone calls? Pixel 5 A12 was terrible when it came out for dropped calls.
Also the drop down animation of the notification bar in landscape does not look so weird anymore.

HELP PLEASE I am looking to purchase the Google pixel 6 but all the research ive done says android 12 is not any good? Something about the updates? So you said you can change 12 and download android 13 on the google pixel 6 pro, doesnt it come with android 12, how do you change it to android 13? So from your video you like android 13 better than 12? THANKS
For my pixel 6, Android 13 is smooth and 0 bugs. The only problem now is my battery is draining faster than usual averaging 3 and half hours of SoT down from 5-6 hours before.
it will get better after your phone adapts to your usage

@@chieflingco when I initially got my pix 6 it took over 2 weeks for it to chill out and run well battery and heating I mean but after that us was very good

Why doesn't my unlocked American Note20 Ultra 5G have Android 13, yet? Tried Smart Switch as well.
I really dislike those huge quick settings buttons in 12 and 13... Gimme back 11 style with mobile data and wifi separately.
Tech Obsolescence was definitely the bigger player in improvements over Operating System Upgrades when it comes down to Android 11 vs. 12 & Android 12 vs. 13. Have fun shoving down useless changes and subscribing them to constant 'upgrades'

The navigation bar at the bottom doesn't even need to be there and yet they go and make it bigger??? It's bad enough that you can't choose to hide the ugly stupid navigation bar but they double down and make it bigger so I guess I'm staying on Android 12 😒
Android 13 ruined my A52. Now there is lag, the screen goes black and it doesn't wake up (with any method you could think of). Hard reset and clean cache did not fix it either. 👎

One thing I noticed Android 12 when I would pull down from the bottom to make it a smaller screen for the one handed touch it just wouldn't work right Android 13 it works every time

and they still didn't move brightness slider to the bottom. Come on, I always put it on the bottom on custom roms because this way it's much easier to reach it. I also set it to be visible on notifications panel so that I don't have to swipe 2 times to change brightness.
Yeah, unfortunate. Other phones do have that though! Doubt Google and Pixel phones will change that in the future though.

I always see these phone reviewers talk about how such and such phone is better because it has more Android updates but they never actually talk about what the actual difference in the Android version is and I suspect that all they really know is that one number is higher than the other

I don't understand why the display and camera on pixel 6 is overhyped. My 200$ galaxy m21 has far better display. And the camera is no where near a galaxy device of same price.

Samsung cameras are quite "meh" compared to Pixel caneras
