So glad I found this channel. I have similar sensibilities for modding my car. I want it daily driven and as reliable as possible and loud but not obnoxious. I'm very very late in the WRX scene and my car modding knowledge is so limited. I won't have the funds to start modding for another year as I build up my tools and knowledge for basic maintenance. I've learned a lot from seeing what you do to your ride, so thanks.
Rule #1 on TH-cam - don't trust anyone in the mod scene, trust everyone with a majority opinions and experience backed up with facts. Do your research on multiple websites and videos before making any mod decisions or else you might damage your engine - maybe not today, tomorrow or next week, but it will come for you if you're not careful. So many people claim this and that without any facts or proof. Google ''Subaru WRX / STI Ringland Failure'. Know and understand your engine and you need to know about ringland failure.
So I had a basic stage 1 etune, then got the GS intake and EBCS. Currently I’m on revision 6 of that tuning process and I feel like THAT rips! I’m not sure if I’m even on the final revision… this video has me excited for the future!
Do a magnetic mount system. If you don't want to hard mount a magnetic pad use velcro to stick it to your dash

I just finished my 91 map today with brentuning and it made 310 hp, I just received my flex fuel base map and will be doing logs shortly, I can’t wait to see what my final numbers are! So happy for you guys and keep putting out the great content, I purchased my tune from Brentuning because you guys ✊🏾✊🏾

Whose doing the e-tunes? I heard you say it but couldn’t really get it…”renn tuning”? I have a 2020 that I’m looking to go flex with. Im currently running MaPerformance stage 1+ tune, but it was always going to be a temporary thing. MOAH POWAH BABY!!!

Have been watching your videos I just got a 2018 wrx and I also am in colorado! Very nice content very helpful keep up the good work maybe well see each other on the slopes
FYI if i remember right there is a drag strip up near Denver and a track down near Publeo.

Hey so moving to a higher altitude: you will need a new tune!! I live here in colorado, and my buddy used a sea level/low elevation tune here and his car blew up. Edge Auto Sport is the place to take your wrx here in CO!
Technically with a MAF-based EFI system, you should not need a new tune unless you are running a different type of fuel (91 vs. 93). The car will correct for changes in "Mass Air Flow", which is why stock cars don't need to be retuned when you move from Sea Level to a higher altitude. If anything, the car will run more rich, but it will most likely hold the tuned AFR setting just fine without a retune. 10.5:1 is 10.5:1 whether you are at SL or 5,000 feet.
@@JetDriver77 wow you know more about how the MAF sensor works more than me! I just know running a rich mixture for too long cause fowl the spark plugs and sadly could eventually lead to the engine blowing. He did say in the video that he will be getting an etune.
Yeah I'll be definitely getting retuned for the altitude. But for now, the afr's have been fine! I'm keeping an eye on them
On an E30 OTS, you runt the risk of leaning out very easily. I’m etuning on flex at the moment and I got a Black Friday tune sale for $350. Couldn’t be happier
Absolutely! Flex is always safer than an E30 or e60 tune
