Absolutely! Kelly is one of the fly tying fly developing greats. The video has a time on it so if they don’t want to listen to Kelly talk then why click to watch???
This is one of my favorite patterns here in Northern California. I'm only 15 so I don't have an unlimited budget so I only tie what I know will work, like this!
I was a gear slinger for a long time, transferred many techniques to fly fishing. When I heard you comment about learning more about streamer fishing, by watching bass masters, I connected more with you than the old new fly fisher shows. Always appreciate your honesty and real life fisher pov.
Kelly that was a very informative and entertaining first session for 2024......Long winded but that is why we subscribe you.....little nuggets of wisdom every time you unclick those glasses....Great job keep it up.
You are too, too funny Kelly. I don’t make my own flies yet but I still watch and love all your videos! Thank you. My son in law, Dave, is an optimist and has a patient who recently gave him his 50+ year collection of fly making accessories. His name is Rudy Mattern. What a great guy. Rudy is retired now but for over 40 years he would lecture and teach fly making all over the country. He was even kind enough to give us an hour of one on one instruction. This summer Dave and I will dig into the boxes and boxes of materials and tools. If I learned nothing else from Rudy I now realize how much there is to learn. Thanks for all you share. Wes
Let's see som white river action on the fly show Kelly! That would make my whole year. Also if lived there I'd be looking to work at the shop. Can't believe people aren't knocking the door down...
Kelly, forget the haters and be yourself. I know that's one of the reasons I watch, the fly tying is just a vehicle for the comedy. But seriously, I've learned a lot from my you over the years, especially not to lick my marabou. Keep the good stuff coming,
Now that is winter weather, as always I could listen all day. You are my mentor by video, you have a passion and I want that with every turn of thread. I hope Shirley is staying warm and give her a big hug for Joyce and I.😉👍
That new camera is great. You can see that leg tie in perfectly! When I noticed you were back at the vice I cooked up a bowl of popcorn and grabbed a beer. Great job
I don't know, I really enjoyed talking with you when I stayed at The Slide, so talk away! This old vet also appreciates your support of Project Healing Waters. Keep those videos coming. Thanks!
everything you say were complaints.. are the things I like your voids for..i like these bits of wisdom/tirades whatever ya wanna call them.. insights from your perspective are awesome n informative...
Same here, I took a hiatus from tying for year or two, just been going to town this early spring. Today been thinking wish Kelly would do some more new tying videos I rewatch the old ones like 5 times each!
Most important instruction of this video for me is how to fish this fly. Get jiggy with it. Been fishing this pattern a while now and it absolutely works best tip jiggin it. Damnit Kelly now folks now about the big hole streamer! Saul Goodman it’s a deadly pattern love it! Thanks sir
I really like the high angle camera!!! I'm left handed (my favorite excuse) so it can sometimes be a little difficult to figure out what you are doing. This was the first time I really understood how you tie in the rubber legs. I'll be tying this one up later today. Thanks
You share more wisdom and experience in one video than any of these haters are capable of absorbing in 10 lifetimes. Also - huge fan of @DavieMcPhail too. We truly live in the golden age of fly tying given modern materials and limitless access to this stuff 24/7. I freakin love fly tying, going on 30 years and always more to learn.
Nice job!! Hi from Rolla MO 🎣🤠 Dave Hughes I like the new overhead camera. I agree with you on the two two tone colors. I like brown -black for the top and yellow on the bottom. For the head I like a brass cone with a red Bead and a big bead chain eye and ten wraps of twenty lead wire. Covered with a dubbing loop of dark peacock Simi seal. Thanks for your time and knowledge on this fly. I wish you and your's good health and happiness.
I thank you for your willingness to help other anglers. Fly fishing is no longer a gentleman's sport. Glad to see there are still some gentlemen out there.
When designing an articulated streamer, what factors into using one hook or two? Assuming in the two hook scenario you don’t cut off the hook point. (Maybe you wrote about that in one of your books I should get.)
Keep talking Kelly, I’ve been watching you for as 10 + years and using your books. All these other wannabe tiers and fisherman can go suck it. You the best KG.
Awesome job Kelly, have learned a ton from your stuff, the Jig strip is sooooo legit, it worked very well recently- Fok The haters!! The overhead cam is the shiz- Great move! I was just about to tell you to go get the growth of melanoma checked on your finger... :)!!!
Or what hook size you fish with that pattern. I want to order a tying kit in April. Next time you see. Johnny is yawning too much. Last time i saw a Mouth that big. It had a hook in it. 😊😂😂
Damn, I didnt realize how hard it was to find some passionate young anglers willing to relocate to your neck of the woods. I was supposed to come by and Interview last summer but I ended up taking a job as a Chef on a yacht and so Ive put my dreams of guiding one day on hold. Maybe one day!
I can hear Davie McPhail telling his buddies back in the UK saying about Kelly, I can’t understand a word he’s saying but just watch his face 😂, and his hands never stop…😂😂.
I don't care how much you talk it's worth it for the knowledge gained.
Agreed !!!

Kelly, the best part of your video is usually the 5 minutes after you click your glasses. Still extremely informative. Thanks again, Tom Gingerich

Great you're back on Kelly!! Your rubber leg set is great until Madden comes along, and pulls them out!!😂 And you know he will.
I've learned great things from you Kelly. I recently started tying with your MFC products and it's changing my game. Thank you!

GREAT camera work, Braden!
Thanks! Kelly. Great vid. I for one like the talking because I like the details.
Thanks for continuing to do videos. They are always worthwhile.
Don’t worry about the talking. It’s all knowledge shared. Everyone watching you tie should be watching Davie McPhail, the man is a master at the vise.
Welcome Back 🎉 Kelly !!!
Greetings from NW Michigan 🥳

The new camera angle is great - in my opinion.
Nice! 👍
Kelly, that growth on your finger is getting bigger. Should get that looked into. 🎉

What size of hook you use on that streamers imitation crayfish looking streamer.
Or what hook size you fish with that pattern. I want to order a tying kit in April. Next time you see. Johnny is yawning too much. Last time i saw a Mouth that big. It had a hook in it. 😊😂😂
First comment! Thank for all the inspiration, Kelly!

Sculpin swim in a jigging manner. Why put eyes on what would be the rear of the crayfish?
you guys... "short handed" ?!?! umm...
54 minutes to tie one fly! Need some short to the point videos.
Just fast forward Mark
I did! Great fly!
Too much talk and no tie.Talk and tie, talk and tie.! and you're not funny.
Go read a book
