Hi Kelly, great video. How about tying a swimmin Jimmy for the next video? Bass season is just starting in the Midwest.

It would kinda be nice if the dumbell eyes had width options. I'm always thinking of others things to use as eyes for big sculpins. Or sucker imitations.

What weight rod would you recommend for this fly? I like using the lighter (4,5 &6)when possible but this is a big fly, I have an 8wt but rarely use it except with large Clousers but think it may be the one for this.? I take your advice very serious because you Know! Thanks for all your help. 🎣

Charlie, this fly is best used with a 7-8 wt rod as it definitely pushes a lot of water. Thanks for watching

Is there instance where you spin over stack the head, beyond preference of the technique?

Nice video. Like the concept of the sponge in a cup, is this something that is being sold?

I’m still amazed at your bobbin control. Looks like your hardly applying pressure yet your materials just stay there.

Those pesky trout never stop at stop signs that’s why they “T” bone those flies!

No doubt Kelly knows what he’s talking about and his reputation talks for itself, but an hour and twenty minutes?! Video could be cut down to 10 minutes if you take out all the fluff

Some people like the fluff. You can always fast forward though what you don't want to watch.

"The Fluffer"...how on earth that has not made it as a name on one of your patterns is a trick missed.

I like the raw footage. This is a free service. There is a ton of value in it. I find it incredible that people complain at all. To repay The Slide Inn for their efforts you could comment by inserting the times of key parts of the video 5:00 15:00 37:45 1:00 etc. So others could find the parts of the video you found helpful, repaying Slide Inn for the high quality content and mega value you received free of charge.

A lot of what you call ‘’Fluff’’ is actually the ‘’’Why’’ and there is good knowledge in there, if you look for it you can apply some of the Why to other fly ties and not limit yourself to the Paint-Tie By Numbers tutorial videos. The main reason those other videos are at 10 minutes or just over is for the monetary guidelines of TH-cam
