I literally scraped off all that 'shinyness' by rubbing the strap back and forth in sections against my brick patio wall! And now it's as raw looking as cowhide should be. I will buy and go over it with a brown Coptic marker pen to darken it a coupla shades but other than that..BRICK walls work! LOL! You can't beat FREE!!

I tried this too with a nail file and it worked better that rubbing alcohol

@@andreadelgado6511 you can use the fine side of the file to smooth it out and apply a bit if the marker to even the color out
