No they do not bother me at all. This bag is meant to be folded when you travel. When I fly I always fold my speedy up and place it in my backpack. I din’t like to wear my speedy 35 into the airplane as a carry-on because its too big to place under the seat in front of me and its too risky to place it in the upper head compartment cuz other people might squish it or scratch it when they shove their own bags and stuff inside. You know how terrible people can be and only care about themselves and not care for other people’s properties so I never trust people to actually care enough. I fold my speedy up and store it inside my backpack until I arrive to my destination. That is when I unfold it again and use it as my main bag until its time to fly back again. Then I fold it up again and store it in my backpack during the flight back. The folds do not disturb me at all. They are a part of the design of this specific bag. The speedy was designed to be carried inside a suitcase or other luggage until arrival to destination, where it would be used to run quick errands on the town or to facilitate a comfortable tourist journey once one has landed at destination.
@@SuperDacob yeah I’ve seen you mention this before and it obviously arrives folded. My damier ebene though ironed itself out but my mono holds the creases. I’ve watched other videos that have scared me where they said creases in canvas may lead to cracking
It was Monsieur Ashley that helped all my vachetta looking good till now☺️. He helped me overcome my fear using my monogram. I always have my 100 pur baby wipes since then.
I’ve used the baby wipes method on my old ones circa 2013 and it took off all the years of gunk and build up. I was very impressed with how mine came out:
Me too. I used baby wipes on my Neverfull handles and it worked 👏🏽 Also, I rub pure coconut oil on my vachetta bags with cottonwool to get a honey patina 😊
@@CarolCreates yesssss! I don't always want to wait for the patina process, so I use even baby oil to instantly patina one or two of my LV bags. also doing that I find the patina to be even throughout and doesn't get the water spots.🤣
@@Laurenlilly902 yep 👍 I initially did it by mistake. I was moisturising my body and I got a spot of oil on the vachetta of one of my bags. It stayed there for a long while. Then one day I noticed how the spot mark had turned a lovely honey colour. So I rubbed all my vachetta bags with coconut oil. Doesn’t leave a water mark. Just a lovely light colour. I don’t like stark white vachetta you get on new bags.
A zero water filter has become my very best friend in cleaning vintage Louis Vuitton vachetta … Similar to distilled water zero water has no minerals etc and the pH is properly balanced 😊 So its nice to be able to wipe down handles with a microfiber cloth and that water and not have any water spots left behind… and in fact, use it along w other items to remove old water spots 🙌 I do love that you made this video! Thank you so, so much for showing the technique and the importance of pressure- You just really presented this very well 💯🙏
First of all, great video topic. Advices and tips are always welcomed! Second. YOU are the only influencer I have stumbled upon that pronounces "vachetta" correctly 🙏 I cringe everytime I hear someone says "vasheta, vesheta, veceta..." thank you!!! Finally someone who really has the knowledge 🥰
My family always makes fun of me when I see a raindrop and have to change my LV bag and carry something that is waterproof. They say you paid a lot of money for a bag you can’t wear in rain. I tried this on an older bag. Didn’t remove water spots but leather looked cleaner and brighter
Hi!! What’s the ages of these bags??? They look brand new. I have a pegase that is almost 20 years old and the vachetta leather is very patina-ed!! I did see the videos on restoring and cleaning it with conditioner and wipes. I bought the stuff, it’s in the drawer but I haven’t found the courage to do it yet!! Again mine is already very patina-ed….
I also tried the baby wipes and it worked beautifully despite being terribly scared. I learned it from MonsieurAshley. Love that you gave him the credit. It would be nice for you to do a colab or something. Love you. Smooches 😘
I experimented with a wipe on my early 2000’s speedy. I wasn’t too concerned with messing it up because the handles have darken. It worked, the handles were lighter and the patina evened out. I still need to get all the vachetta replaced, it’ll be cheaper to get a new bag, but the older canvas is so nice.
I love my Pochette Accessories....I bought it on holiday in Las Vegas in 2000!! and have used and loved it all this time. I took it to the London city store to get the hardware and tabs updated in 2020 and they couldn't believe the condition. Just shows how the quality has decreased over the years. It has lasted so well. I bought my Niece one for her 21st birthday ( when it was around £350?). Be interesting to see whose last the best! But it is a great little bag x
Hi Dacob…it makes sense to use baby wipes as leather is skin and if it doesn’t harm babies well it’s definitely not going to harm leather…I wipe all leather goods with baby wipes…SLG’s, bags….including furniture.. couch’s, chairs…love them..happy cleaning 🧽 😊❤
I've completed a professional leather care course. Personally I wouldn't use baby wipes daily, as unless you are nourishing the leather constantly dampening it and rubbing it can make the vachetta dry out. This can take a while to surface in the form of tiny cracks. Personally I clean and condition my vachetta, canvas and most other leathers with Bickmore4. Using a non alcohol wipe to clean if you really want to before Bick 4 is ok but unnecessary in my long experience. Bick 4 hasn't darkened any of our vachetta ( I clean my daughter's bags etc as well.)
I have been also using baby wipes for 20 years. I would wipe my shoes down after my bags. Oh wow! I was guessing Petunia, and it’s so cute that that’s what Penny Lee thought too!
I like the change of color too but I prefer the darkening to happen all over the surface and not unevenly and more so in the spots where you hold the bag. I like the patina to happen all over the vachetta evenly so that the entire surface gets honey brown the same way. The baby wipes help me achieve that look. 💖
I would say also, you can store silica bead packets in your bags main pocket and other pockets to absorb moisture, and I actually stuff unused (obviously)diapers in my smaller bags too, this also helps with moisture absorption. I would also say, if you have a closet with an outlet, buy a small dehumidifier. They are very inexpensive and I am always amazed how much moisture is pulls from the air. My closet is next to bathroom & the steam really makes me nervous!
I’ve used non scented wipes on preloved bags for the canvas if someone had dripped like a latte on it, I also reuse the wipes before they dry to use a grabber and get the edges and corners of my kitchen floor clean, funny others do this 😂 Congrats on Petunia 🎉
Thanks Laurie 🥰🙏🏻🥰 omg, it is really hilarious that many of us use the baby wiles for the extra touch ups around the house after we cleaned out bags with them 🤣🤣 love it.
Thank you SO much for this! I just got the Alma BB as a gift and I was afraid to keep it bc I worried I would stain the vechetta leather and lose my mind! I ordered the baby wipes from your link-thank you! Now I’m more confident that I can maybe keep it. But what do you do if it rains when you’re carrying the bag? 😳
Thanks for the video! I saw the "original" video too and tried it - it works! But all I can think is.... is a damp cloth not almost the same as a 99,9% water baby wipe? Thinking of the waste every time.

I've wiped down the vachetta leather on my new Speedy and Noe BB with the same water wipes and have tiny water spots ALL over the vachetta! I didn't set my bags in indirect sunlight first because I didn't know to do so. I hope the vachetta evens out over time.
I've been doing this for years. It gives nice even patina. I don't do it that often because it makes mine darker faster. But that's me probably applying too much pressure when I clean it.
Enjoy it. I wear my monogram speedy almost every day since over a year now and its patina-ing so beautifully. I do wipe it with baby wipes after almost each wear though. 💖💖💖
Great tutorial! All of your Louis Vuittons have such a gorgeous patina, Dacob. Happy you named the Pochette Accessories "Petunia"- I believe I and others had recommended that for your micro speedy Talulah so it was definitely fate you eventually got a bag which fit that name 😊
