I'm watching every video in this series. Watched your video replacing the brake cylinder on your boat trailer and noticed this video series. Wow a lot of work, you're a hard working sob I must say. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Great videos, learning a lot. Can you tell me how you went about determining the level to cut the stringers to? I see you oversized the height of the stringers and I have been trying to figure that out Thanks again for the great videos.
jay It made me smile because I remembered how miserable that job was in my sea ray cuddy the only advantage I had was my son is old enough to help [17] he cut all those little odd strips I needed while I had resin all over my hands the only differece between the polyester and the epoxy [ I used both] was the smell polyester was way stronger didnt really need a respirator for epoxy and you cant put poly back over epoxy I found out it doesnt bond properly looks good by the way!
I have been watching this series and it is very interesting. You have more drive and ambition then anyone I have ever met. I know this was done years ago and it makes me wonder if you have any ill effects from all those lethal chemicals?
not sure, but when you are working around the 6:00 mark, i thought you are supposed to create a bullnose in corners with epoxy putty. and that glass is not meant to be bent at 90 degrees. will break its strands when you do so. getting ready to build my own boat. maybe im worrying too much.
I was told to lay the smaller pieces last..so it doesn't have a lip with a gap to go over as it would in this layup. The gap is a possible spot for delam. Hopefully it doesn't pose a issue here.
N no pun intended Im still not entirely sure how Im about to lay mine up over the next few weeks hence my coming across this video. I will be coming to my decision after allot of different theories ive been sifting through shortly. I like your videos, very informative detailed. Thanks!!
2 hints that can help you, use a heating gun to do away with air bubbles as you heat the the resign, it will let the bubbles come up and dissapear. now the camera,go to ''hatcam.com '' the camera with hat cost around $90.00 it records up to 3 hrs and it moves as you move your head never needing hands on. I use it when I go fishing and record all my doing by the water. :)
Benzene, toluene and acetone--frequently used as solvents of skin carcinogens--have different effects on the skin collagen of mice: Benzene and toluene lower the collagen content significantly whereas acetone does not. Methylcholanthrene solved in acetone causes a slower collagen decrease and a longer latency period of tumor development as can be observed, when solved in benzene or toluene. This leads to the conclusion, that benzene and toluene have a cocarcinogenic potency. I caught CLL . A leukemia that comes from benzene and herbicides. Use gloves and a mask to breath when using it. Who knows what else I caught it from.
how much heavier is your boat going to be compared to the factory weight... just checked out that 1708 and says it takes about a gallon of resin to wet 10 sq ft... that's a lot of goo man...
Hi man I know its long time ago but please I need your help, what kind of resin did you used I mean poly o epoxy? it will really help me to start the floor in my 1989 searay.Thank and have a goo weekend
Man, I don't think you're supposed to get aceton on your skin like that - and breath it in a confined space. I bet the material safety data sheet says to wear gloves.
What a waist of product, you didn't need to wipe it down, you are making so much work for your self, your using to much glass just to glass your floor frame down, if it was up to me you would be sacked before now.

Just found you. Great videos! 👌🙂 Thumbed up and subscribed! ...ooh, and how was the burgers? 😂
@windygorge1 You just need to round the corners. I have a fillet in the turn that allows the glass to round over nice.

Looks great and very time consuming
