I bought both. The hall effect sticks on the SE might be better but the grip on the standard G7 was way more important to me. The tactile buttons on the standard are a nice bonus in addition to the grip but honestly I enjoyed the standard buttons on the SE just as much so no real bonus points there. So for me it honestly came down to the comfort of the grip compared to the longevity of the Hall effect sticks. I choose to play with the standard G7 because the lack of grip on the SE made it way less comfortable and I had to work harder to enjoy the controller. I tore them both completely apart to try and swap the grippy back shell onto the SE but the capacitors or some component is located in a different place on the back of the PCB so I wasn’t able to swap them and was super sad. With some minor modification to the back shell I might have been able to make it work but I just didn’t feel like putting in the effort to try a custom modification. Hopefully Gamesir updates the SE to the grippy back shell! I’d definitely buy it if they did.
@@Kagamiya you’re really agreeing with me if you understand my point. He said it was a downgrade, I’m saying that it’s not. It’s not a downgrade or an upgrade because it’s preference. I personally use all 4 paddles on my Xbox Elite Series 2 and would be lost without them. Hopefully we will see four bottom buttons and trigger stops in the future and I will give this manufacturer a whirl
At least you will be using the elite until your bumpers inevitably stop working and you get stick drift thus making a 4 paddle controller worse than a $40 controller this 2 paddles made by some guy in china
@@n64slayer Yeah so far I've gone through an Elite controller once a year even though i put it in a drawer after use to keep the dust off and clean it every so often
I know exactly what you're talking about with the anti friction rings having some friction to them. I actually changed to the regular G7 faceplate to be able to have the smoothness again.
I have a question: Why are trigger locks so important? What I mean is that every 3rd party controller seems to have them but I don't understand the use for them when every FPS I've played since 2010 has an option to remap your aim and shoot buttons to RB and LB.
Trigger stoppers Stop u from clicking the trigger all the way but still registering it as a hit for the FPS the amount of time cut down just from trigger stoppers literally is insane u can shoot faster than anyone in the game
@@xvittsl5383 But in the other hand Gamesir released an update to overclock the responsiveness to 1000mhz which means 1ms so therefore the fastest anyway without needing trigger stops + the hair trigger they implied in the software + you can map it to shoot with RB which has a smaller path , so I think it was a smart decision from their end to lower the cost and give it a trigger stop effect without a trigger stop
I just wish the back buttons could be programmable as their own buttons separate from any other controls on the controller. kinda like macro keys on a keyboard. That's probably my only gripe.
I ordered this controller for fps games and because the xbox controller has stick drift. And I want to jump by pressing that paddle. I hope this is good. And I understood that with Xbox you can do all the settings, calibrations, updates, etc. At least that app can be found in the Store. Edit SE model. I hope this was a good choice. So many options and I just decided to order this one. €60 is a lot of money for me
Are these controllers good for playing nba 2k24??? Online?? 2k24 has the worst latency this yr on shooting the basketball. Hard to time jump shots and compete.
That's a great question and mabe a great video too😀😎 but since you asked I kinda of answer it. If you are more worried about sick drift and latency gamesir if you more worried about trigger stops and 4 buttons fusion pro. Why well that all to answer and will be answered in a video lol.
One consideration I need to make, when he says that if you play games that use the D-Pad and ABXY buttons a lot, you should choose the G7 SE and not the G7, the reason they are membrane now, is because with switch buttons wasnt smooth in excessive movements, especially in a fighting game and there were a lot of people complaining, so in this version they decided to listen to the public and leave it with membrane.
The thing about some of these *membrane buttons on the G7 SE. Is that they aren't contact point like on the Xbox controllers. They are these small dome switches that can were out before the rated 5mil. I think the only ones rated for that are ABXY and not the start/select and d-pad. Those can suddenly "POP" if pressed far to many times in quick succession. I'm guessing the constant bending and minor heat created makes those kind of buttons fall apart. The membrane just sits on top just for the added mushy feeling.
@@PughsReview great controller, its like G7 and G7 SE combined but sadly the apps to customize and update the controller is thru phone. Gamesir Nexus doesn't detect it.
I made an adjustment with the SE, and kept it. The buttons on the t4k just didint feel right for me. Does anyone have an idea when the 1000hz firmware update will be released for the SE?
So personally I'm with you I think that the controller should be someone like the new Turtle Beach stealth hall effect sensors Wireless with four buttons on the back. And with the option of plugging it in to be wired to be a thousand Hertz. I don't see why we can't have a thousand hurt controller now since the gamesir is.
Got g7 se 2 weeks ago, I now have stick drift on both sticks. I had to increase deadzone on both sticks very disappointed. Trying to adjust attachments on MW2 last night, was impossible. Had to use d pad. Sending back for another one
Too many odly placed buttons including the analogs being a little closer, I play claw and just pressing start and select trips me out. To top it off I need to hold the controller really retarted or else I end up pressing the back buttons since they are extremely sensitive. I am definetly going to mod the hell out of the G7 SE. I really want to give the Hall effect analogs a chance. (Currently waiting for Marius is Xbox halleffects.) (I am Adding trigger stops, moving both start and select down to xbox original positions, adding a stiffer spring on the paddles and def sanding down the edges an bit.) The controller feels like a combo SNES and xbox 360 controller. The weird Playstation thumbsticks are annoying (the inner dome makes the edges on the analog useless. ) def going to replace with xbox one ones. The base is smaller in length. So people will have to sand them down.
You got your work cut out for you. I never could play claw you got that 9ver me for sure. I would assume more hall effects will come out eventually for Xbox hopefully lol
I got mine today, I feel like the dpad moves right/ left when I'm pressing down for some reason. Not sure if that's a regular fault. I also don't like where they put the start and back buttons. I'm used to them always being level with x but now their higher up level with y button
@@PughsReview Doesnt really matter if on the long run these controllers last twice or more as long as xbox or PS controllers with their cheap analog sticks. Enough of switching controller every 6-8 months.
Great video. It explained the controller features better than the manual, profile switching without app was not in it. I chose G7 because of the color and the face buttons. The buttons are nice and clicky, but I feel that the are wasted on G7 because of the d-pad. Xbox Series X controllers have excellent d-pad for fighting games and G7 d-pad is lacking compared to it. G7 will end up being mostly FPS controller for me.
Apparently though you may be a great player, you know not to much about marketing. Baby step's mean's update's, and updated controller's cause there to be more sale's of almost the same thing. Putting all the egg's in one basket, mean's you won't need a upgrade when trigger stop become avaible. The "NO" drift is going to cost them money when one doesn't have to replace their controller every couple of month's. Having updated controller's by adding function's latter will cause sale's.
I'm no Xbox player, I'm on a PC Steam player. I'm using G7 SE in Cycle racing games. I setup my Left stick Deadzone at 14 But Maybe I have to lower it because when I play Play Ride 4 I struggle making them sharp turns like it's not leaning my bike racing all the way, maybe it's because I set Deadzone at 14 and not tried it lower or it's because I have to be more precise and can't even move a little bit off and that can make it more difficult. Edited: Aug 30th....I seen I had to set Left Deadzone to Raw, past the 100% max, but I still leave it to 14% for the center. But when I play Mx-Bikes, it's a harder game to learn for beginners, it's as close you can get for a Simulator Dirt bike racing game. I have no trouble in Mx-Bikes and just love it. Mx-Bikes is such an awesome game because people so far made over 100 tracks and still making vary good motocross and Supercross tracks!, So many I can't even find the time to try them all. You just add them tracks into your game Mods folder. And I feel I must say a little more...can add extra Bike, Helmets, clothing designs. Having Analog triggers for racing is a must have and can change it to instant trigger press for shooting games is awesome! I wish I could extend the thumb sticks longer more though. Guess I need to look for Thumb stick extenders. By the way Dead zone tv series was a great TV series lol.
Tired of gamesir cutting corners. They need to release a premium controller with hall sticks, wraparound rubber grip, mech face buttons, trigger stops, and make it wireless since powerA has finally got the first third party wireless controller, so it’s possible.
@Triple9 did you check their newly release Gamesir T4 Cyclone/Cyclone Pro that is Wireless, Mechanical A, B, X, Y button, hall sticks, rear macro button

@@PughsReview Yeah I did that it’s really nice! I’m just sad about how they’re removing the 1000hz on Xbox that’s basically the only reason I bought it. I guess if you don’t go back to 250hz after updating then you can keep 1000hz but idk if they’ll ever fix the stick drift on 1000hz then.

SE all the way imo, can't beat HE sticks. As for fighting games it depends on what fighting game is your main game tbh, for example multiversus which is due to re-release soon I use the left stick for movement and the right stick for some attacks and the face buttons for other attacks.
Gamesir g7, 6 months in, crazy stick drift on left stick. Can not get ahold of customer service. No place to file a claim even in their warranty section on the site. maybe its not a problem
Good point. I would assume the pull isn't enough to inturpt the stick sensors themselves. haven't for me any ways
Hi, Will you review GameSir latest controller T4 Cyclone Pro model on future video?
I will once it comes out or they send it to me 💪
@@PughsReview okay.
actually it already releases the pre-order.
@SAM-ef5bu good looking out I will check it out now thanks.
@@PughsReview great controller, its like G7 and G7 SE combined but sadly the apps to customize and update the controller is thru phone. Gamesir Nexus doesn't detect it.
@raffyluvmiharu it just came in yesterday I have a few options on it from just holding it, and I can't wait to play with it.
I made an adjustment with the SE, and kept it. The buttons on the t4k just didint feel right for me. Does anyone have an idea when the 1000hz firmware update will be released for the SE?
I haven't heard of a release yet as soon as they do and I hear I will make a short. To update everyone.
The tactile is a nice touch but the buttons on the back mean I'm not going to push them that much
Some fighting games have half circle inputs that you can cheese with analog
Xbox should make the next elite have hall effect, and when we plug it in its very low latency
💯 agree, no reason why it shouldn't be at this point.
@@PughsReview what would u want them to do?
So personally I'm with you I think that the controller should be someone like the new Turtle Beach stealth hall effect sensors Wireless with four buttons on the back. And with the option of plugging it in to be wired to be a thousand Hertz. I don't see why we can't have a thousand hurt controller now since the gamesir is.
can you use these with android phone/tablet?
GameSir G7 SE vs GuliKit Kingkong 2 Pro. Who's better?
Good idea
If you’re playing on PC, the Kingkong 2Pro. If you’re on Xbox, the G7 SE, as it’s the only Xbox controller.
True but I keep hearing about the adapter that will alow other controllers to be played on xbox the goku I am going to get it and check it out
@@echosierra9990 play just football game on pc
The G7 SE is superior to the Kingkong 2 Pro due to the newer and better hall effect sensors.
Can you use kontrol freaks on the g7 se?
Should be the same as the g7 I have the ones that should fit in the description.
@@PughsReviewso the Xbox kontrol freeks don’t fit but the ps4 ones fit?
That's what fits the g7 I don't have them to be honest I looked it up and that's what I found so I assume the same applies t9 the se
does but the gamesir g7 and the gamesire g7 se both have hall effect thumbsticks?
Only the G7 se has hall effect
Hello! I only play FIFA, should I choose G7 or G7 SE? Thanks!
g7
Is there a app on the xbox for this controller
Yes, it's called Nexus.
For platform games which dpad is better, G7 or G7 SE?
G7
I don’t have a PC to update. Will this still work on my Series S.
Yes there is an app on the Xbox for it
Got g7 se 2 weeks ago, I now have stick drift on both sticks. I had to increase deadzone on both sticks very disappointed. Trying to adjust attachments on MW2 last night, was impossible. Had to use d pad. Sending back for another one
That's crazy to think maybe it's a failing part like a spring not the actual senors, hopefully
@@PughsReview ya man, very disappointed. Love the controller tho, love it
@bw536 yea all the hype is around the sticks I believe you will be good
@PughsReview your controller constantly disconnecting after latest firmware update?
Mine came out of the box latest firmware unless there's a new update I'll have to check.
Quality video!
Thanks 😀
Can this be overclocked? I heard this one comes with 1ms 1000hz right out the box
No. There is a update coming eventually for it.
@@PughsReview is the update out yet?
@@mlgkid37 yea you have to do it on pc then move to console but beware you lose you headphone port so if you run a wired headset set it to 500HZ
I personally dont like clicky buttons or clicky dpad. I find the noise annoying, and the feeling is not satisfying. So ide get the se
That works, too. Everyone has the own likes I get it. Enjoy.
(Currently waiting for Marius is Xbox halleffects.)
(I am Adding trigger stops, moving both start and select down to xbox original positions, adding a stiffer spring on the paddles and def sanding down the edges an bit.)
The controller feels like a combo SNES and xbox 360 controller.
I have the SE. It is incredibly smooth compared to my Xbox controllers. I know about hall effects because my business is in electronics
Nice glad you like it.
Man, please use a compressor for your mic. Otherwise, great content
make video on G7 se vs xbox controller
sadly, amazon won't ship it to my address 🥺
I am trying to see if I can get links straight from ganesir to help with that. For now go over to there website see if they will ship to you.
I got mine today, I feel like the dpad moves right/ left when I'm pressing down for some reason. Not sure if that's a regular fault. I also don't like where they put the start and back buttons. I'm used to them always being level with x but now their higher up level with y button
Sorry to hear that it felt great to me but I understand everyone has there style
you use Rt Lb and paddles at the same time din
So can you start your dead zone at 0 until you get stick drift
You don't get stick drift, we'll technically you can but will take long long long time
Well, if the high-rise spring stays good, you should be good.
G7 is it good for rocket league?
If only it was wiredless I would get one right away...
It would cost a lot more if it was that. But I get it.
@@PughsReview Doesnt really matter if on the long run these controllers last twice or more as long as xbox or PS controllers with their cheap analog sticks. Enough of switching controller every 6-8 months.
Hello, one percent here. I just want to say this man knows his stuff.
I appreciate that I do try 😀
Great video. It explained the controller features better than the manual, profile switching without app was not in it.
I chose G7 because of the color and the face buttons. The buttons are nice and clicky, but I feel that the are wasted on G7 because of the d-pad. Xbox Series X controllers have excellent d-pad for fighting games and G7 d-pad is lacking compared to it. G7 will end up being mostly FPS controller for me.
i just wish they made the se in black
The g7 plate fits the SE btw
You can make the triggers hair triggers with the software.
Yep I go over that I believe
I didn't like the back buttons, they are 2 flat for me.
me with small hands wanting zero stick drift lol
can these work with android? thank you
No cuz it's wired
@@4TguideIDK1 via usb C hub?
@user-cx6rg6mr7d can do depends if you got one
the reasson it has 0.5 circularity is because of software deadzones
Oh, nice, thanks for the information.
I did't get it 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm no Xbox player, I'm on a PC Steam player.
Good advice check out kontrol freaks ps5 should fit in the g7se. If you on pc why not get the t4 it has hall effect and click buttons
@@PughsReview I have plans to get T4 but doing more research on it first to see if it's worth getting.
@mickh1475 got it I like mine i have a video on it as well
@@PughsReviewwhat is better, t4 or g7 se for pc. I want to play souls like games and racing games
@@Xillarron t4 for me
Tired of gamesir cutting corners. They need to release a premium controller with hall sticks, wraparound rubber grip, mech face buttons, trigger stops, and make it wireless since powerA has finally got the first third party wireless controller, so it’s possible.
Which controller is that? For powera
@Triple9 did you check their newly release Gamesir T4 Cyclone/Cyclone Pro that is Wireless, Mechanical A, B, X, Y button, hall sticks, rear macro button
For fps control, it can't take kontrolfreek WTF !
Check pin comment
It's not the same measurement as the xbox s controller. I try it
What is the best for Fifa?
non se version
@@lachysimmonds357 the regular?
Thanks for answering
Yes the g7 with tactile buttons
Have the same issue with the se it sounds like its rubbing something on the thumbstick. Returning it. I went with the t4. Much better controller.
Yea the t4 is pretty good I warranty my se to see if I get another one like that.
Can the T4 work on xbox one??
Nope I hear there's a adapter to make ot work once i get it and test it i will make a video for it
Its rubbing because the left side anti friction ring (the blue ring around the sticks) isn’t machined quite perfectly so it isn’t perfectly smooth so it feels “bumpy” the right side feels very smooth tho, found this out after some critical thinking and grabbing the black faceplate off the g7 and putting it on the g7 se. No more rubbing, the black friction rings that come on the g7 are cut better cuz they are perfectly smooth on both sticks
@GlockSkills yea I noticed the same thing when I grabbed my g7 and tested the Faceplate so the bad thing is there's a bunch if these like that.
If they release one with trigger stops I will buy IMMEDIATELY
They way they release controllers shouldn't be long wait 🤣
@@PughsReview 😭 well I got the SE anyways and with same day shipping I’m so hype it to be here by 10pm lol
Edit: it just showed up actually 😱
Go into the app and set the Trigger deadzones down so you will get 100% when you touch the triggers.
@dummy8901 the 1000hz is back and here to stay you just lose wired headset port
Can it be used on ps4???
There are adapter you can use to make it work
GameSir G7 SE vs 8bitdo Ultimate
I like it. 😀 might make it happen.
Ytf would they change the face buttons on the se should’ve left it mouse click smh.
There are lots of people that actually prefer them other tactile. Not me but there are some that do.
8bitdo ultimate vs gamesir g7 se pls
I like it
GameSir G7 SE or HyperX Clutch Gladiate
Gamesir for me maybe I'll do a comparison with them 2
They should have done 4 back buttons
We need this for sure
Tbh im good with 2, JUMP and crouch, im ok with Pressing Standard Buttons for reload and stuff. Sure, more is Always better
Shot my go to controller has 6 extra buttons 🤣
@@PughsReview i mean, yeah you can use Them all, there are enough Games that i cant Play with Controller cause of the Missing Buttons, Like flight Simulator, space engineers, and many more.
We also have Bad Movement and quick-menu Problems in all console Games cause the Games are Made for the Standard Layout with No Backbuttons. Its Not 2004 anymore, Backbuttons should be the Standard for many years
Does anyone know what the L3 and R3 button presses are like on a hall effect stick?
Im a modern warfare 2022 sweat which one is better for me?
SE all the way imo, can't beat HE sticks. As for fighting games it depends on what fighting game is your main game tbh, for example multiversus which is due to re-release soon I use the left stick for movement and the right stick for some attacks and the face buttons for other attacks.
get the t4 kaleid
Can’t get kontrol freeks on the g7 se so it kinda sucks
Xbox won't fit check the description for the one that will
They're PlayStation sticks. PS kontrolfreeks fit exactly.
i missed the code .. sadge
Dang it I will post them any time I have them so stay on the look out.
Not worth to buy,.ine two month use after update new firmware it bo longer can be detected.
Gamesir g7, 6 months in, crazy stick drift on left stick. Can not get ahold of customer service. No place to file a claim even in their warranty section on the site. Google reveals tons of people saying even if you do get ahold of them, once you mention a return or warranty replacement they GHOST you. Terrible company.
Calibration fixes that, search how to do it
@@IDKKK1207 it doesn't when it gets bad enough.
I just hate the color and lack of trigger stops
I don't mind the color but I agree needs trigger stops.
