This is such a great snippet of life in Sweden. It reminds me why I live here. There are times when I'm over it, and I want to move back home to the States, but these little everyday moments are definitely the things that make it worth staying--if only for a bit longer. Thanks for sharing. ✨
i am from stockholm and also living here and i found your video and you actually got me inspired to re-experience my home city. i dont know if that makes scenes but i just found it so calming seeing you walking around at second hands, chilling in parks. lovely.
As an American who has not yet traveled internationally…this vlog was absolutely delightful! The views were perfect 👌🏾 Thanks for sharing. Sending good vibes from Michigan!
i was alone in sweden for 2 months last year may-june. i fell in love. such a beautiful and safe country! people are reserved and seem unfriendly but are actually very friendly when you talk to them. everyone i met in sweden were super nice! i did have to learn a few things tho. like NOT sitting next to someone on the bus if there were empty window seats available.
So happy you enjoyed Sweden! You chose a great time to visit! Yeah, we're a bit reserved, but yeah, I think most of us is quite friendly. Like if someone ask for directions, we will make sure they get where they need to be, and wish that you enjoy your stay, but if you're standing around with a map, most people wouldn't approach you and be like "Do you need directions? I can help", because to us that feels a bit pushy, and insinuating that you're not managing on your own. So some might feel that we're rude, because we don't offer help, but to us it's hard to offer help, not because we don't want to help, but because we assume you don't want help. To me as a Swede it's so strange that anyone would prefer sit right next to a stranger, if there is an empty seat somewhere else. Like wouldn't anyone think it's so much better to get your own seat with no one next to you, not having to feel the heat from their body on you, or perhaps even sitting so close that they their arms or legs touch you. To me it's hard to grasp that this "not sit next to someone" is a Swedish thing, and not an everywhere thing, because that's so rooted in me to go and sit on the seat furthest away from others.
It is not that we are unfriendly, we _respect your privacy_ . Yeah, being out and about, you are considered to be in _private space_ . Why? Because of the weather and climate. We Swedes are cooped up with each other, indoors, for more than half the year! No elbow space, no self-time. So, when we finally get out of the house - or office - that becomes our private space, our downtime. That is why we limit casual socialising to _social_ venues, and the rest is private time. This is also why you can approach a swede and ask for directions and similar, because that is non-personal, it is not socialising.
not sure how safe it is anymore. it depends where you go. i live in a "problematic area" and it's not always safe. also the shootings and explosions that's happening all the time now days has changed this innocent image of sweden maybe it's safe if you go up north to smaller cities but in the bigger cities there's a lot of bad things happening. sweden is not what it use to be
Who tf would be a tourist in for example rinkeby? The more touristy areas are almost always perfectly safe (pickpocketers can be common, but thats normal).
Oh wow, what a great video! I just love your way of mixing fast pace clips and interesting stories, really engaging, never boring. And the fact that you so conscientiously do things you want to do. I live here myself close to Nytorget, and of course I’m home blind, never been to Fotografiska for example 😳. And fun fact, Stockholm is top tier in the world regarding museums per capita, close to 100.
That’s a lot of museums wow I never realized. Thank you, I strive to be intentional in everything I do. And I relate so much to being home blind so I hope this made you appreciate Stockholm differently ✨
I’m born and raised in Stockholm and I never comment on content- but I just wanted to tell you that you are my new favorite here on TH-cam !! 😊 Your chill style of vlogging and being so personal and entertaining and still showing what you saw and experienced in Stockholm was so much fun to watch! Ahhh I miss Sweden. Made myself råksalat today!! Yes fotografitska!! Stockholm museums are top tier. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through you 🫶🫶
I really hope it was a "räksalat" and not a "råksalat"! 😁 Räksallad= Shrimp salad. "Råksallad" on the other hand... well, I don't know anyone who would have that... since it would be a sallad with the bird called "råka", which is the rook (a bird species similar to crows and ravens). I'm not making fun of you, it's very easy, as a non-native Swedish speaker to mix up the letters å and ä, but it just looked so funny, so I hope you excuse me for getting a little giggle out of this!
Swedish men will definitely flirt so don’t worry. They aren’t as forward as in many other European countries though. 😍 But a Swedish man putting a heart on your order is MOST definitely flirting with you! He most definitely thought you were cute 😉❤
