Awesome that your showing everything needed but the audio was really annoying for some reason you must be using a different mic because other videos are fine
hi Chris, you didn't mention the ignition (or on wire) needed for smart alternators otherwise the 2nd battery won't charge. i have a 2011 hilux 2wd petrol ute and it has a smart alternator so i have to run a blue on wire with the red n black cable.
Hi Simon, In this video we are just showing the installation of our wiring kit to get power from the starter battery down to the towbar. To complete this setup a DCDC charger would be used that contains an ignition wire to bypass the smart alternator. You can find our DCDC charger install video here - th-cam.com/video/c-0XhB19of4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pPuZISNhe03FXBiZ Regards, Courtney
While I'm not installing a plug like that but I need/want to change where my standard trailer plug mounts and wasn't sure if I could screw into the bar, which it looks like I can
Hi there, While that would work, we recommend the starter battery should you be looking to add charge to your 12v system via a DCDC / Alternator. Regards, Andrew
Shouldn't you connect the earth to the chassis? If you do connect the earth to the chassis wouldn't you connect at the back to save running the earth wire all the way to the front?
Hi there, Thank you for the comment, while you certainly could, to avoid any potential damage to items via current transferring accross the entire chassis we strongly recomment grounding to the front area so that it's a more direct ground path. Regards, Andrew
Thank you, best easy to understand installation video, just what I needed to have the confidence to give it ago!!😊
Thanks for sharing 👍😎

Brilliant stuff.

Ok looks good but do I have to disconnect it if I park up for a few hours as it would flatten my starter battery?
Hi there,
If you have a DCDC charger you won't need to disconnect it.
Cheers, Courtney
@@AdventureKings don’t have a dc/dc charger would a VSR do the same thing?
Pop the inline fuse out?
@@GrantHawkey You can buy an isolator for cheap that stops it charging once the engine is off.
Thanks how/what do I use to connect from the towbar to the battery box in my trailer?
Hi there,
You can use a solar extension lead.
Regards, Courtney
you need to get a split loom cable shuttle
Hey is there an issue if you connected this to your second battery in the tow vehicle?

While that would work, we recommend the starter battery should you be looking to add charge to your 12v system via a DCDC / Alternator.
