I don't know what she's talking about even with straight hair you need to put it in the root. I can only imagine build up if you're not rinsing the conditioner out thoroughly and you've got conditioner left in there 🤮
I’m 41 and have doble the volume and doble the length of this girl’s hair, way more shinier and healthy and have always used my conditioner from the scalp to the ends. Redken all soft shampoo and conditioner (the gold bottles)
You don't need to. Your natural oils from your scalp will hydrate your hair just fine. Conditioner is only for longer hair because those ends are too far away to receive their natural moisture.
@@sinb2097 Honestly i say just use it. I think hair loss because of conditionimg short hair is a rare case that i havent heard of until now. I also have short hair which is also type 4 and that makes it impossible for me to condition my hair without touching my roots as well and my haor has stayed healthy.
This is the reason WEN had so many lawsuits. They caused many people to lose hair, me included. And I barely applied it to the top of my head. I believe they said it was the buildup that it caused. Also, it did this to certain types of hair.
This makes sense but what about hydrating the regrowth and top half of hair? Some directions specify from midlength down. But my bumble & bumble says whole head so I try to use those conditions on top half.. input please
Could you show us drugstore conditioner and shampoos? I gave birth four months ago and my hair is so brittle. I’ve recently just started using rosemary water so hopefully thatll help but I know shampoos definitely are a big part any suggestions?
Try eating more meat and taking supplements of vitamin D, iron, b12. Most women have those vitamin deficiencies after having birth and they cause hair loss. You can also use peppermint essential oil on your scalp, just dilute it in something (i dilute it in aloe gel and water)

Towel dry your hair Before applying conditioner for optimal use as this opens the follicles and allows for moisturizing.. So you wanna take a towel, wrap it around your hair and squeeze the water out, u don’t want to Rub the towel on your hair the way u do when u get out of the shower though, it’s more like a “Pat dry” , but a “squeeze dry” instead . And you should also use a Hair Treatment once every two weeks to a month for healthier hair ( KPax is one of the best out there still to this day ) … ( Learned all of this in hair school)
This is great and all, but how do I bring a towel into my shower without it getting completely soaked within the first two seconds especially since there’s almost no where I can stand in my shower with my head is not getting hit with water
I have to condition my scalp/ roots because it's so dry. I tried oils and that dried my scalp out even more, oils don't moisturise they seal.... My hair produces zero natural oil anymore since turning 50. I don't know what to do all advice is contradictory. I always conditioned all my hair since it's bleached. Everything was fine until I was 50. Sigh.
EVERYTIME i use conditioner i noticed my hair fall off in the shower 🚿 But when i just use shampoo it doesnt do that I'll just moisturize with coconut oil instead
Conditioner is basically just replace the natural oils in your hair that you lose from over shampooing if you don’t over shampoo conditioner is not really necessary
It definitely is necessary for certain types of hair. My hair is wavy and it gets super tangled doesn't matter if I let it dry naturally or blow dry it. I may not bother using conditioner if I'm doing a full bun, but I mostly tie top and sides and not the back side. Also conditioner is a life saver for my beard which is very curly. My sister has silky smooth hair, she'll rarely even bother brushing it and it never tangles even a little bit.
I have extremely fine thin hair, and if i use conditioner it really frizzes my hair up! 😭 haven't tried the leave in ones do let me know if they'll help
I've literally been telling people it's a lotion for your scalp for 10 years. No lay person who has never oiled there scalp before is going to be like sure sounds great castor oil on my scalp, but this is good to know
OK, but what do I do about my really dry scalp? I already use oils and massage those into my hair before washing it but I don’t think that’s enough😅 I also tried many different shampoos that people recommended but while some are a bit better, it still doesn’t solve the problem.
Doesn’t matter that much tbh. Fellow shirt haired gal here and i do the same. I always rinse it out and have never had issues. I even use leave in conditioner which by default touches my roots and my hair is healthy and strong
Oh my gosh I wish I knew this sooner I have been putting it on my scalp thinking that my scalp was dehydrated and dry. do you recommend anything for your scalp?
Just use some clarifying shampoo to get rid of buildup. Oil your hair with rosemary + carrier oil before washing. Double shampoo and add coffee to exfoliate scalp. Invest in scalp treatment. Gl and hope she responds ❤❤
@@fran791 that is true but we have polluted our world and due to social standards people have to wash their hair now, which upsets the balance of the scalp the way evolution intended it. this affects some more than others and they may benefit from a scalp moisturizer. I have an oily scalp so I don't want or need one since I produce enough oils on my own and never have dryness.
Super important! I don't understand how putting oil on my scalp would be much different though. The only product I let touch my scalp is shampoo and sometimes dry shampoo.
The reason people see a return of hair growth with oil treatments on the scalp is the same reason oil-free makeup can increase breakouts: oil breaks up oil, and if your body feels your scalp feels dry (which it can, particularly with a fungal infection like dandruff related from ringworm), it will keep pushing more oil out until it fills up the follicle and crowds out the hair. Oil from your scalp is supposed to be a waste facilitator and was intended to be washed or brushed out by grooming (see: our cousins and ancestors). People keep forgetting your hair is a waste product and the oil isn't.
definitely does not apply to dry curly hair. it has to go on the whole length of the hair.
LOL right me who goes thru kms like water.

Exactly, we have to moisturize all of hair
I agree
I get as close as possibile to the root without the conditioner touching my scalp. That's what she meant, just don’t let it get to your skin
Is it okay to use coconut oil instead of a conditioner

What if you have a buzzcut or pixie cut? My hair is growing from a buzzcut, it is still short. Can I still use a conditioner?
Same question honestly
You don't need to. Your natural oils from your scalp will hydrate your hair just fine. Conditioner is only for longer hair because those ends are too far away to receive their natural moisture.
