- The old cow van failed it's MOT and the cost to repair it was more than the old heifer was worth so it's off to the knackers with her.
This is the start of the process of changing the new one into something habitable.
As usual, I've left myself hardly any time to complete the task but you'll find out more in the next episode 😂😂😂

Hi Tony great video thanks, you must keep yourself hydrated or mistakes could be made 😊😊, looking forward to seeing the new van completed. Happy New year to you and your family mate and more cable wrestling next year 😅😅😅. Gary.

Van Sleeping part of life on the road
Ha ! It just kept coming tony. I tell you what Tony I’ll vote for you if you vote for me and I will see you at the awards next year 😉😉😂
Sounds like a plan my man👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Is that jigsaw is what I think it is I think I bought that from Screwfix about six or seven years ago used it once and sent it straight back it was the worst power tool I've ever used and was only about 15 or 20 quid lol. Makita 18v brushed nowadays.
Thumbs up great work that is always dreaded.
20:08 You.. might have saved some time by just cutting the 50mm off the bottom, one there's less to cut, two the mounting holes are still in place where there's the corresponding thread in the chassis.. 🙈
Cuz.. it was only the floor level rising, not the weel hatches suddenly being 50mm higher 😁
Just finished watching a long show, really sad it’s over. Any advice?
I am a bit confused to why you cut 50mm off the top when it would have probably been better to take it off the bottom, as you had raised the floor, not dropped the ceiling.
Sorry to be critical.
Good luck with the rest of the build
Also what's the crack with the bed as if so you can take on work outside your area travel and earn good money and stay in the van?
My job requires me to travel, I've accepted that. I like to be as close as I can to the job as I don't like getting up early in the morning. I enjoy sleeping in the van as it's loads more convenient than being in a hotel that can be upto 20-30 miles away.
@@jointechcabling9103 fair play thanks for the reply. Im the same hate travelling to work and getting up early. Looking forward to the next video on the van.
@@jointechcabling9103also on site security for your tools
Looks like a little bit mouldy on the wood near the door 😲
It was. I don't know if it was a leak or it was the moisture from me while I was asleep.
What van did you have and what's the new one
Transit to a transit custom. The custom is a lot smaller.
Wtf. 😮😮😮😮 it’s 2024 after a hard days work you should be in a travel lodge or similar, sleeping in a van …if a client wants your services and your travelling to sites that require overnight stays they should be paying for your travel time and expenses…hopefully you only sleep in the van as little as possible 😮😮😮
Can’t wait for more vids feller cable related 👍👍👍 all best
On the contrary, I spend as much time in it as possible. I don't enjoy hotels. I like the adventure of the van, it's like adult camping out. You know how much fun that was when you were a kid, well, I do that every night. It's brilliant. The cable stuff is on its way👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@jointechcabling9103 each to their own 👍
On the flip side, charge expenses and sleep in van and you are quids in!
@@digi-tal hope he does,,but ide take the warm clean bed and shower plus food over sleeping in a van na 👍👍👍
I hated checking into endless B&B's and hotels while travelling with work. Tony has the right idea. Take his home with him. Much more convenient, predictable and affordable.
honest question: Why do you sleep in your van? A good nightrest is important Thanks for the great content btw!
Because it suits him …….and it’s cheaper than a motel plus it saves you getting your tools nicked
Because Tony loves a good roadside nap while being surrounded by drunkards trying to get in and listening to sirens at all hours.
Watch his channel you muppet and find out.
Works away from home I assume, can make money as if the company pays for digs and you just crash in the van. I have a camper and have some my best night sleep in it.
@@connerwright1322Jointech is pretty much a one man outfit, so his company doesn't pay for digs, but he saves the expenses when he's sleeping in the van.
When working away hotels used to be reasonable prices where you could get a Travelodge room for say £30-40 a night in some locations at certain points of the year but now double that.
Do you mind me asking what your old van failed on ?
Some welding, cracked leaf springs, something to do with break lines and more stuff😂😂😂
That insulation xtratherm .some memories.it smells like cat pee when you cut .
