The intro always seemed funny to me, since the intro had all this crazy action going on, but the actual show was more slice of life-ish.
Early episodes depicted them solving crimes and fighting crime. But the creators ditched this concept in later seasons. Its even mentioned in the show that they stopped fighting crime and solving mysteries because it "doesn't pay much."
Its slice of life spliced with insane shit.
Like when the giant monster Paul cries out, "that bitch took my dog!" When you find out he's just gone through a divorce

they only had them solving crimes in the beginning in order to get the greenlight from the network. they said the network wouldn’t approve a show about a bunch of fast food character just chillin and doing random shit so they had to start off the show with some structure.

This show started off as an unlikely bottom budget project on Adult Swim and became perhaps one of its most successful and long lived animated projects. In thirty years it may have more social power then most any of their works, good job.

The first intro showed it was obvious that they had like zero funding and had to repeat the same animations. But it worked, and the show ended up being a damn masterpiece. I dug some of the of the others but nothing will top the nostalgia of #1

I remember when it was brand new. I was in the middle of the 7th grade when it started. It brings back some nostalgia from back then, but it was probably my least favorite season

I don't care if Rick and Morty is the big thing now. Master Shake, Frylock, Meatwad, and Carl will always be the mascots of Adult Swim. These four made my days in high school.

You might not know this but that beat was composed by Flying Lotus and sang by Thundercat. That to me is insanely cool, I discovered thsi fact just recently while binge watching all the seasons and reading the credits to all the episodes.

i still can’t believe this show was cancelled, i’ve watched the show since like 2007 when the boston bridge thing happened. this show was a masterpiece and was easily the best adult swim series to date. meatwad, frylock, master shake, and carl are forever legends. thanks cartoon network and adult swim for keeping this show running for as long as it did.

Too soon? The show was on for more than 10 years. They kept changing the name because Cartoon Network has a policy of cancelling shows after a certain amount of episodes.
10 years is way too soon. i wanted to show my great grand children Aqua Teen live on Adult Swim. Too much to ask? I think not.

+Hwarming I thought the first theme change was because of Shake claiming that they would change the name of the show. Then, after the first theme change keeping with what Shake said they just continued with the joke.
It had a long run. Still, I wish there are new episodes.

I agree with most of this but in my opinion the aqua unit patrol squad opening is nice because of the visuals, even if the beat doesn't hit as hard as the rest. Also the aqua teen hunger force forever into is really good, idk why it isn't appreciated as much as the rest
@@williamscranner2074 Aquateen forever is my favorite I think. It’s just so self aware and in keeping with the theme of the show. Especially because they knew it was going to end so they kept referencing being around forever and not getting cancelled.

Aqua Unit Patrol Squad is one of my personal favorites.
Gotta love the Scooby Doo parody. Interestingly Master Shake (Captain Pistachio) gave me a George Jetson or Fred Flintsone vibe.
That was a shoutout to the other Hannah Barbara cartoons as they (Scooby Doo, Flintstones, Jetsons) were all made by the same animators.
Not only is the OG intro the best one, it’s like one of the best original intro songs for any TV cartoon series ever.

This show was a damn fever dream. If there was one thing Adult Swim did consistently it was make literal fever dreams of shows
2:51 this intro had to pull out the faintest memories of my lizard brain for this one. Very faintly remember my older brother being half awake on the couch when I was a kid and I got up to go to the bathroom and heard this.
I seriously cannot believe that the, "Dancing is Forbidden", is in the OG intro too.
If you think about it, eating meatwad is probably the most disgusting thing you can do in that extended rap intro.

4) Carl comes from a city inhabited entirely by more Carl's and attacked by a Transformer-sized Carl.
