Thanks for checking this out ! We appreciate it! Working your way backwords would be the video SAY from this album and also Falling from the sun, and then Ominous from the previous! :D
More Evergrey Where August Mourns- Eternal Nocturnal they mostly have music videos lots of great music on their YT channel Going back to their earlier years to current day . They do have a few live concerts on line They are a Swedish Band, this album is number 14 They have just changed the Drummer Jonas said he lost interest in going on tour and wants to get more into the production side of music They are a very hard working band and are very active with there fans on social media Tom also sings in a side project call Silent Skies
Evergrey have honestly been my absolute favourite band of the last 7 or 8 years, and that's on top of my all-time favourites I hold dear to me like Iron Maiden etc. There's just something about the dark brooding lyrics, and the melody, that just hits a special spot for me. Everygrey are an extraordinary, special band.
@@teckreactions Check out everything from The Glorious Collision album onwards if you like the kind of thing you heard here. Personal favourite of mine is Mark of the Triangle from the In Search of Truth album though. There's lots of earlier stuff that's more raw and experimental. Everygrey have only evolved over time. They don't release bad albums. They just evolve and build on what came before.
Other Evergrey suggestions....BLINDED, A TOUCH OF BLESSING, MADNESS CAUGHT ANOTHER VICTIM, BLACKENED DAWN, MARK OF THE TRIANGLE, DARK WATERS, ETC. They have a lot of songs to pick from. Great band that few know about.
Not sure if I've ever listened to Evergrey before. I'm also not sure if this would be a favorite song of mine, but they definitely have the components to have some great music so I'll be checking out more of them! That shift at about 6:46 reminded me of Pink Floyd for some reason, and for the rest of the song I noticed a few different things that sounded like PF. Probably the choir in the background and flowing music. Thanks, Matt.
Evergrey are a phenomenal band. Deep emotional lyrics. Two guitarist so you often get two solos. Tom England’s voice just reaches into your soul. Watch Ominous! There are much better examples of their work. Without any growly stuff! Floor has even done a duet with them!
Love Evergrey. Have loved them since the early 2000's. Like others have said, they have a plethora of excellent songs. But avoid the duet with Floor like everyone suggests. Go for their own stuff first, then duets. I'm a big fan of "A touch of Blessing" for example, but the video is over a decade or two old and that shows in the quality available on youtube. lol Alternatively the song One Heart. Mostly for the story there and the story is as follows: Earlier this year, or if it was late last year they sent out a call on social media for fans to go to two different cities (in Sweden) at different dates to sing/chant a part of the chorus and they recorded that. It is in the finished product and it sounds amazing.
I dig it. I know nothing about this group but if i had to guess I'd imagine they are fans of sleep token. Loved some of the unconventional fills showing some technical drumming prowess without overplaying. Particularly enjoyed the big build (where you were talking about the 16th note accent) that goes into half time. Very cool. 🔥🤘😝🤘🔥
Correct, not permanent members of the band. Salina Englund is the daughter of lead singer Tom Englund. Jonas Renske is the lead singer for the Swedish band Katatonia.
@@teckreactions "To balance the darkness, we decided to bring in some angelic qualities, and at the time of composing, I couldn't imagine anything more suiting than my daughter Salina Englund's voice." There are some background chorus vocals throughout, the first ones starting at 0:52 I believe. I assume she was part of those.
Evergrey has been around for years and has never gotten the recognition that they deserve. If you want to try more I would suggest "In Orbit" featuring Floor Jansen, or another from their new album "Falling from the Sun." Tom Englund has a great voice and has appeared in the Ayreon productions.
They released an album in 2016, The Storm Within, featuring a female vocalist you may be familiar with (her husband used to be their drummer)...there's a video: th-cam.com/video/XKNg2dcO94k/w-d-xo.html

Check out their songs "Where August Mourn" & "Eternal Nocturnal".
A very dark song! But you can find everything in Evergrey's music. Keep going! 👍🏻🙂

Oh and check out Black Undertow too. It's like the James Bond 007 movie theme song we never knew we wanted but absolutely needed!!
Completely agree and have been following them about the same now
Jonas Renkse is the singer/vocalist of the phenomenal band "Katatonia" you should also check out! Believe me, it will be absolutely worth it! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm always here for bands I've never heard of. Let's go!

That's a good point. There were Pink Floyd vibes for sure.

Evergrey has been around since 1993. They have released 14 albums.
I suspect it's the other way round: Evergrey were formed in 1993, Sleep Token in 2016.
Good point.
Because they came out first, they cannot also be fans?
Perhaps. I didn't pick up many Sleep Token vibes though.

Where was Salina singing? I don't remember hearing a female voice.

In Orbit is my favourite of Evergrey

@@teckreactions it is a cool video and song, and you are definitely familiar with the guest female vocalist.
