Thanks for taking the time to do this. Trim Tabs are difficult enough, but when your adding video of the process, its a big job. I have Lenco electric tabs that quit working, and I have it isolated down to the dash controller that I believe the circuit board has shorted out. I am running a 250 on a 18 foot flats boat, so without trim tabs it gets hairy fast! Appreciate the help.
Absolutely! And yes they are a huge help, I now have a 257 with twins and electric lencos myself and I'm telling you those electric trim tabs work wonders and are just about instant correction. I love them and love having them. I appreciate the kind words, means a lot!

Thanks for the video, I had bought a boat that came with the trin tabs and actuators but no switch, I'll be ordeing the same size tabs and switching it like you did on this video. I appreciate it very much.
It did not have auto leveling, but having the digital visuals definitely helped to make quick adjustments. Obviously when you're driving youll see and feel it. However it's nice to see what your tabs are actually doing and what level they are. Just adds to learning you're vessels habits
The original tabs were the same size yes, BUT the new kit I bought came with new actuators and the actuators had a sensor connected to them to control them. They needed freshened up anyhow and the old ones showed signs of wear in the hinges. I could have cleaned and repolished them but for a little extra i figured why not. Plus it gave me the chance to check behind the old tabs hinges and go over the transom, make sure everything was good and then get a good fresh seal on there.
@@habitualangler the actuators I understand but the stainless steel tabs themselves could have been reused right? Is it possible to order just the the actuators and the Auto pro controller?
Hi sir i have a (( 2000 sea ray 240 sundancer )) and i have the factory trim tab can i remove my trim switch and install this one ? please let me know so i can go buy one . Thank you
With the factory trim tabs, this switch alone won't work. The new switch would need the new actuators at minimum for the sensors it has. The sensors in the actuators or the piston pushing the tabs down, is what relays to the new switch how far up or down the tabs are. The tabs themselves would still work as long as the rest of the equipment is of appropriate size though. Same as original length of the actuator.

Why did you swap out the actual tabs. The originals looked the same in the video. Same size?
