    What I enjoy most about this album is the joy you spoke about. A lot of Beyoncé’s previous albums dealt with a lot of heartbreak and infidelity. This project feels liberating.

    (My opinion) This album is her best album. The timing is perfect and this makes the album all the more enjoyable. Especially in a time where microwave pop music is dominating, it feels like we needed this body of work. Finally something with structure and cohesiveness. I hope record labels reconsider how music is being manufactured by using this album as a template.

    Ranking my Beyonce's albums and why:
    1. Renaissance - the production is heaven. It's an eclectic and experimental work of house, pop, dance, disco, R&B, synth-pop, Miami bass, hip hop, and hyperpop and her vocals is soaring. The song's also transitioned with each other like it's a DJ set. And speaking of DJ, it plays tribute to queer black people and black DJs who pioneer house music.
    2. Lemonade- the diverse genres of art pop, R&B, country, hip hop, rock and blues work so well. And she tackles infidelity, abandonment, healing and social injustice that black people experience.
    3. BEYONCÉ - this is the album where I started to appreciate alternative R&B music. And all those visuals she released on music videos such as "Drunk in Love", "Blow", "Partition " and "Flawless".
    4. 4- get it? Hahaha. 4 is my favorite because it's a mixture of jazz, R&B, rock and disco. Her vocals are really showing here such as in "1+1", "I Care", "Best Thing I Never Had", "Love on Top" and "I Was Here". And this is where she became independent and not to follow any trends.
    5. I Am... Sasha Fierce- it's a mixture of pop and R&B music. There's also a bit of soft rock influences in it. This is her peak era where I like the songs "If I Were A Boy", "Single Ladies", "Sweet Dreams", "Diva", and "Ego" and appreciated underrated tracks such as "Broken Hearted Girl", "Radio" and "That's Why You're Beautiful".
    6. B'Day- this is her second album and she did not disappoint. It's a bop, like all songs can be a single. I especially like "Irreplaceable", "Deja Vu", "Ring the Alarm" and "Beautiful Liar".
    7. Dangerously in Love - this is her introduction where she made a name for herself. "Crazy in Love", "Baby Boy", "Me, Myself and I", and "Naughty Girl" are iconic

    This is my personal favorite album of Beyonce's, along with B'day. Beyonce and Lemonade are cool albums conceptually and artistically, but the songs themselves are a hit or miss IMO. What I love about the renaissance is the cohesiveness of it all, it doesn't need a bunch of interludes or long/heartfelt intros in order to try and tie the songs together into one body of work, it does it on its own, the sound and mood of the album flow so effortlessly it's almost like your traveling through a river. The production is gorgeous, the writing is sharp and playful, and Beyoncé's voice commands attention and rides the beat throughout the entire album. I like B'day for similar reasons, the energy is consistent throughout the album, it's short and sweet but every song is of good quality, not to mention Bey's vocals are on point and Deja Vu is a killer album opener.

    • @musermusings
      @musermusings  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Beyoncé legit embodied the emotion of the concept of the album. Scratch that, she embodied the emotion of the genre of R&B. . . The Rhythm & Blues of somebody fighting against being “burned out” after managing the balance between God, money and Love. The same way actors have the term “method acting” so does singers, she was like “method singing”. Listening to virgos groove for example sounds sad but it’s upbeat, so it’s easy being distracted on the bluesy element of R&B. To add, if you’re somebody you thrives off of silenced gossip, especially following after both Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s dramatic albums of Lemonade and 444, you wonder if those had anything to do with the performance on this album to flow so effortlessly in authenticity.
