Shadowfang once dropped for me and my friend when we were 2 manning shadowfang keep as kids, we were stoked for a blue BoE and sold it on auction house for 50 gold, it was then sold out in under 2 minutes and we decided to split the gold, good memories
the mechanostrider no longer exists; the reason being that the owner wanted to sell his account (and wanted alot of money just because of the strider); Blizzard found out about this and suspended his account for 2 weeks and removed the strider from his mounts; since the removal the owner hasn't logged in.
The first mount you showed and said only that person owns it. He doesn't anymore. He tried to sell his account long time ago, and instead of permanentlly banning him Blizz sent out a 3 day ban and removed that mount from his account. The thing about that mount is that the player accidentaly deleted a rare mount he got, and Blizz sent it back, and by mistake changed mount's color. So it was the only mount of that kind and color to ever exist in game. First and last.
LichtdesMorgens aah true that :) I wonder if the Corrupted Ashbringer skin in Legion deos anything funky. There used to be a way to transmog a mining pick into the Corrupted Ashbringer, Someone whipped it out in a dungeon early in WoD and everyone was amazed. I didn't quite understand how he pulled it off but he said it was done in an earlier expansion.
LichtdesMorgens okay I know I'm 2 months late, but I do remember back In wrath, I did a quest chain where I held the ashbringer through SM. I totally forgot what that quest was called and why it happened.
@@Jerry-LZ Is it still complicate to have a great pvp stuff and with the item level i'm sure you don't have 8k achievement to WOW or even more... The game is still in the top since 2004.

+megavisser100 I've never done the legendary quests but I can buy them. idk if I've done anything back when they were available but I also have the recipe in my profession.
"The Insane" used to bee so difficult back in BC. Not its a cake walk. Just like getting your netherwing drake mounts. i farmed for like 8-9 months everyday. Now you can get em in less than a week....smh
At the end of MoP anyway I was dedicated to getting every cooking recipe in the game (last one I got was for dirge's kickin' chimaerok chops, that cost me a pretty penny even though the recipe is no longer craftable, since one of the ingredients only dropped off of mobs on Isle of Dread, that ceased to exist when Cataclysm flooded that island); so the only recipe I didn't have that existed at the time was thistle tea. I did have a rogue alt with the recipe, so... I say that counted lol. Though it did bug me I couldn't honestly say I had 100% of all cooking recipes on a single character. I was dedicated to cooking, and even had a special set of gear that either sped up my cooking or just had cosmetic items that made me look like a cook. Pandaria felt like the golden age of cooking, with a quest hub dedicated to the craft. (Fun fact: the pet Lil' Ragnaros can be used as a cooking fire, which is convenient because it follows you everywhere you go and doesn't disappear until you dismiss it.)
A'teish, Greatstaff of the Guardian. Legendary caster staff from collecting 40 items and killing Kel'Thuzad in Vanilla Naxx. Black Quiriji resonating crystal, mount that comes with the Scarab Lord title for opening Gates of AQ server first. Both rarer than some things on this list.
TEEBUS BLAZING SWORD! Dude that picture of the dwarf... Brings back memories, i still remember when i was like 11 or 12 picking up my fresh vanilla wow package from best buy and seeing that pic of the dwarf with that sword. Been like over 10 years lol
Nightmare Blade. It was a drop from the Dragons of Nightmare world bosses and was removed from the game. Even on Stormrage realm it is rare enough that when i take it out its a hot topic of conversation. I like to pair it with Maladeth because they look similar
That life-like mechanical toad story is how I feel about fel-steel longsword. I just can't get it to drop and it sells for a pretty penny on my server.
Interestingly, I have the entire top 3 and Teebu's blazing longsword. I also have the Warlock Vanilla Dire Maul quest book for the trinket (which can still be sold) and the unadorned thingy for UBRS.
Good video. I played WoW a lot during Vanilla/TBC, and i've never heard of a few of the items on here. I like the jab at "wait for Legion, and get one for free" about the Ashbringer. That weapon was always so highly demanded in the old days, it's just fitting they would give it away for doing nothing in the new expansions.
I remember getting the Formal Dangui just over half a year ago. I was flying over Moonglade and I figured "Hey maybe she has it". Lo and behold she did! No camping for four months for me! ..I have a lot of rare items that I just got on accident. The formal dangui, the sea turtle, the love rocket..
Logged into my paladin during Mop, found the chromatic sword in my bank. I remembered then I begged my dad for 40 gold to get it because I thought it was good. Tried selling it for 150k on my server and everyone laughed at me. Well guess who has a transmog that is extremely rare. Lol
I still remember farming Scarlet Monastery until I had a pair of my clubs that shall not be named. Naturally, I started a guild of the same name. Alas... The guild and character are now gone, but it was fun while it lasted.
Would also include Atiesh, so few guilds and players even got into vanilla naxx, even less ever cleared it, and among them very few were actually able to complete the quest chain to get the staff... (also it was limited to 4 classes). The Black Kiraji Battle Tank, the only Kiraji Tank mount that was usable outside of AQ (until they released the craftable ultramarine one) was only obtainable through ringing the gong at AQ within a certain number of hours of the instances release and required a great deal of gear, farming and a team of people to support you, for most servers there may have been only 1 or 2 people to get the mount, and many servers had no one... Of course you can't forget Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops recipe, the only epic cooking recipe in game. It had a very long and sequitous process to get a hold of which included a quest line, materials and even getting a priest to mind control a specific mob in BWL for you, all this before it was removed from game in Cata.
I remember when I sold recpie for Dirgee's Chimaerok Kickin' Chops for 10k back in WotLK instead of acutally learning it or saving it for future data disks... the pain never leaves
Curious. The Thistle Tea recipe rang a bell, and I logged onto my rogue who's been untouched since TBC (created him in the pre-patch days I think, my first ever char). Sure enough, there the recipe sat around in his bank, still unlearned because of the far too difficult 50 cooking required x). However, it's soulbound.
Back in the day I was in a twink guild full of level 19 rogues, we all used the Cruel Barb as our weapons, No one on my server (Kargath) used Shadowfang in that bracket. Cruel Barb has almost double the dps (15.5) and increased attack power by 12. Mind you the guild formed shortly before the release of 10-19 battlegrounds so it might just be that we built around not realizing that but even the Alliance twinks used Cruel Barbs. But we ran that set up from the launch all the way through most of Wrath. Kinda crazy to think we might not have had the highest dps we could of.
The frost runes or whatever from old nax people want them for the crafted set transmog thats one of the reasons they are super expensive (other than not being able to get them for years), i dont think anyone would use them.
You know what item is pretty damn rare? I have an old Quickdraw Quiver from when hunters still had to use quivers to hold ammo that also happens to not be soulbound. It might actually be one of a kind at this point.
oh my gosh I have one too! as well as like 200 bullets and 200 arrows. I was a hoarder during classic and still have the same main with his 340 days in /played...
Remember in vanilla as a rogue having to do the poison quests ? That was hard when you got quest and had red elites in the towers. Now you dont have to quest for class specifics. Paladins had to quest for their mount and warriors quel sar was a tank sword quest line ending in dire maul.
What about the Cursed Amulet, or whatever it was called. It came out right before the Curse of the Necropolis patch when scourge were invading everywhere. You had it in your inventory and it gave you a little buff that said "Something is with you" and the little black ghost that follows you around. That thing seems pretty rare.
As a new subscriber who loves your content, wondering if you could make a tips and tricks video about getting back into world of warrcraft? And maby tips and tricks in picking the right version of the game and things like that. Much love keep that good content coming FOR THE HORDE
They once had a sword that was called the Serpent Sword (I think that is what they was called, but that was a long time ago) and I had two of them on my Night Elf Warrior, and these swords had a chance to hit for nature damage, and when I gave both of them a Fiery Enchantment, I was hitting for nature damage with one and fire damage with the other, if I was not hitting for nature damage I was hitting for fire damage. I use these swords thought 10 levels before I had to get new swords. Those was good swords, but I think Blizzard took them out because I have not seen them in years in the game.
another fun rare thing from back in the day was the disgusting oozeling, i remember they use to sell for up to 10k gold on certain servers, and they weren't even good to have, they were the only small pet in the game that actually gave you a de-buff
Top 10 most painful reps to grind. .....cause I can think of a lot....not counting all lv. 60 reps pre buff when it was cut by 80% due to out leveling the mob.
If u did some reseach about the rarity, can you remember were Jin'rohk, The Great Apocalypse anywhere near the end? (it was the lvl 70 version of Zin'rohk dropped from old lvl 70 Zul'aman with low chance.) deleted since cata.
Hmm, I had the chromatic sword at one point, I wonder if its still in one of my banks just sitting around collecting dust. Probably not, knowing me I most likely vendor trashed it.
I've heard this rumor but I could never really find any sources for it, but last time I checked was a couple of months ago when I made a video on the rarest mounts.
When I made my L19 WSG Rogue twink I used my L60 Pally (max level at time) to farm Shadow Fang Keep for the dagger and sword.I got the Assassin's Blade on the very first run through. I was happy and thought well this is going to be easy.Well 2 weeks later I'm still in there every day all day farming for this thing. I was even at the point where I would run through lowbees, the deal was they loot everything they keep everything except the Shadowfang sword.cause if I had to loot 1 more corpse I was going to snap but I didn't want to leave all that gold behind.
point of curiosity: How rare is the furbog rod from vanilla which was used in a quest where you needed to turn into a furbog for some reason. The quest (and rod i believe) was removed in Cata, but I've still got it hanging about in my inventory because I got the rod but never finished the quest.
Elemental_Phoenix I think it's still pretty rare. there is a similar item that can be bought from the timber maw faction. you have to be exalted with them to use it.

I had a friend who had the Contest Winner's Tabard :) I've got some pretty damn rare items myself aswell, many items that were available only for a very short time very long ago and had no practical use or appeal of any sorts which made people not want to waste time/money to get them, I did because I've always been a collector ;) BTW, selling Pattern : Star Belt (probably the rarest still available recipe in the game), send me PM here if you want to buy it. EU-Defias Brotherhood server cluster!
Shadowfang Keep was patched at some point back in WoD and now can drop from any mob. (Source is unknown, read it on twinkinfo / xpoff, the only twink site)
I was told that Teebu's Blazing Longsword was the rarest item, only dropping from mobs that spawned during the AQ opening event with a really low drop-rate... But i was extremely wrong, seen it multiple times on AH.
Hi ! What about the powder that rogues had to buy in order to use vanish ? Since vanish doesn't require any component, is this powder rare ? (i think i kept some of it on my characters)
What about the Competitors tabard? In vanilla you could only get it for doing battlegrounds and only the people that currently have the tabard are the only people who can have it at all. It also came with a pet. The new transmogrify system made it possible to use it on other characters though.
I could have sworn back in vanilla thistle tea recipe also dropped from monsters. For some reason I remember having more than one of these recipes, I was terrible and vendor so many things back then.... sigh grinding levels in fel... something getting golden orbs (or something, they vendor for 1g!!!!!) and auction for 50g+....
Actually, Shadowfang dropped off a Gargoyle for me around last november 2015. Sold it for 10k so I could get past the gold requirement in Dragonwrath Tarecgosa's rest quest. So not just bosses! :D
There's a blacksmith recipe that only drops from a rare in Dustwallow Marsh, and the drop rate is 0.12%. It crafts a golden curved dagger with a golden glow, and I think that its skin is unique in the game.
I actually collect BoE unobtainable items, and have the chromatic , 4 x thistle tea recipes. bunch of Frozen Runes that you had listed. Those are but a small fraction of my collection. One of the rarest item I have is the Heroic [Heavy Geode Mace] and probably the only one in game. If you are interested hirumaredx I could show you my collection :-)
Actually, I have Recipe Thistle Tea. It was the beginning of WoD that it became unusable and I made a video of it. Then I made another video of a GM helping me to learn it on my Hunter because I had spent 500k on what became a useless piece of paper in my inventory. Cut to today, and it turns out I can brew thistle tea for rogues as it now gives them 100 energy again and could possibly be useful to them. :O
When was shadowfang thing changed? Last time I went SFK farming was like 6 weeks ago, got two shadowfangs in like 50 runs and BOTH were from the gargoyles around the middle of the instance.
I want to know...why were people killing themselves near you? Did they realize that their lives are nothing but a simulation and by jumping from a high point they would wake up from this nightmare?
I actually got the Lifelike Mechanical Toad back in Wrath because our guild would farm the emerald drakes for fun and I always lead the raids so the moment it dropped I just took it :^)
I remember in the wow armory(app) during cata if you searched for (???) you could actually see ashbringer and all the artifacts that we get in legion Unfortunately I didn't get any screenshots during the time.
Sold chromatic armor and sword years ago to make place in my bank along a bunch of other oldies that were taking place. Just kept my T1 and T2 warrior set pieces and some cool hats. Tears.
It feels great when you realise that one of those rarest items, has actually been sitting in your bank since you levelled your hunter back in wrath, and is now worth a lot of money.
I know this is an old video, but the Thistle Tea recipe is still learnable from the boe recipes. I have one right now and it can still teach how to make it.
It took me like 5+ years to see a shadowfang drop in sfk. I lost the roll but the guy still gave me it not knowing it's rarity. I ran sfk prob at least 1000 times.
Shadowfang once dropped for me and my friend when we were 2 manning shadowfang keep as kids, we were stoked for a blue BoE and sold it on auction house for 50 gold, it was then sold out in under 2 minutes and we decided to split the gold, good memories

That feel when you have Chromatic sword but its soulbound
If u did some reseach about the rarity, can you remember were Jin'rohk, The Great Apocalypse anywhere near the end? (it was the lvl 70 version of Zin'rohk dropped from old lvl 70 Zul'aman with low chance.) deleted since cata.
100s of thousands of gold, in vanilla /Tbc? are you high? noone had that kind of gold.
1k for the mount is 200k 2 years ago is what he was saying
Hmm, I had the chromatic sword at one point, I wonder if its still in one of my banks just sitting around collecting dust. Probably not, knowing me I most likely vendor trashed it.
wasnt the robostrider taken away from him
Yep
I've heard this rumor but I could never really find any sources for it, but last time I checked was a couple of months ago when I made a video on the rarest mounts.
dunno but i heard it over reddit that blizzard took it away from him.
they took it because he was trying to sell the acc for money he got banned
No he still plays and still has it.

I had a friend who had the Contest Winner's Tabard :) I've got some pretty damn rare items myself aswell, many items that were available only for a very short time very long ago and had no practical use or appeal of any sorts which made people not want to waste time/money to get them, I did because I've always been a collector ;)
BTW, selling Pattern : Star Belt (probably the rarest still available recipe in the game), send me PM here if you want to buy it. EU-Defias Brotherhood server cluster!
I have the thistle tea recipe on my vanilla rogue on silvermoon. Lucky i never leveled cooking hehe. If i put it on AH what should i put it for?
Love the battle pet names referencing Howard Stern.
ocab is here to say he's really pleased with the video hirus
I got the blade of wizardry a long time ago. I got it when from the same boss that dropped me the white hawkstrider
Shadowfang Keep was patched at some point back in WoD and now can drop from any mob. (Source is unknown, read it on twinkinfo / xpoff, the only twink site)
Kevinbacon of kul'tiras back in BC. won the roll on corrupt ashbringer and passed it on to him. wonder if he still has it.
I've actually got an old school mount. Nightsaber. Lonesnipa on Elune if you care to look. It's my go to ground mount.
achievement is old school ride
I was told that Teebu's Blazing Longsword was the rarest item, only dropping from mobs that spawned during the AQ opening event with a really low drop-rate... But i was extremely wrong, seen it multiple times on AH.
i was expecting Recipe: Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops to be mentioned since it hasn't been obtainable for years
Wait, if you cant get the Thistle Tea recipe (where its useful) now, then how did you buy it from the Poison Supplies Vendor?
Rogues can still buy the soulbound version and use it
Plummet But he said... y'know what just nevermind.
+MrShyguy999 it came back with legion
Kaylord0 Ooohh...
The recipie of thistle tea was still obtainable at patch 3.3.5a so far i remember from a quest in westfall witch was only for rogues
Question.. how many plauers still have the blessed battlegear of undead slaying set from pre wotlk event ?
Actually, Shadowfang dropped off a Gargoyle for me around last november 2015. Sold it for 10k so I could get past the gold requirement in Dragonwrath Tarecgosa's rest quest. So not just bosses! :D
Some liches do keep their phylactaries close so they can keep an eye on it.
So it's not too farfetched.
Can you give me a small list of items BoEs to collect? Im playing classic and a fellow collector. Thanks.
What is the song called that you use at the end of your videos?
I'm happy I was able to get the Time Lost Protodrake and the Shadowfang.
I'm dead xD.
Oh my god, the second I saw this, a guy feigned death next to me.
Still loving the videos and never touched wow. :p
haha same, my brother used to fiend it and I was always interested.
I actually got the Lifelike Mechanical Toad back in Wrath because our guild would farm the emerald drakes for fun and I always lead the raids so the moment it dropped I just took it :^)
I remember in the wow armory(app) during cata if you searched for (???) you could actually see ashbringer and all the artifacts that we get in legion
Unfortunately I didn't get any screenshots during the time.
Thistle Tea recipe and the Thistle Tea itself is now aviable for Rogues in the Rogue Class Hall.
While we're on the subject of rare items/recipes, I'll add the Schematic for Arcane Bomb, Craftsman's Monocle, and Pendulum of Doom for consideration.
I had a 19 twink rogue back in the day. Had two of the shadowfang swords. Was a hoot to play
A.W. W. yea until twinking was nerfed with removing some buffs from bgs eg food buffs and some elixers so just ganking 30s is the best bet
Michael Mckeon I remember they had a huge nerf in BC. Pretty much killed it.
Sold chromatic armor and sword years ago to make place in my bank along a bunch of other oldies that were taking place. Just kept my T1 and T2 warrior set pieces and some cool hats. Tears.
More subs than Warcraft bible. That's pretty high. Glad to see you're growing, hiru!
What about the orb of deception? I still have that form vanilla on ym hunter who also has the leaf bow
I used to play this game years ago. I had a couple chromatic sword drops. Never thought anything about.
Oh god... I remember running Shadowfang keep so, so, many times to get that damn dagger. Totally worth it!
Teebu's Blazing Longsword may be more expensive because you can transmog enchants on it and you can't do it with the blade of wizardry
