    Lisle makes a pitman arm puller specifically for f 250-f550. Part # 41970 works great

    I wonder if your caster is high because of the ATS springs? Thanks for the videos great job. A Red Head is on my wish list for sure now!

      The caster is high because of the leveling shackles, a lot of guys are finding that higher is better (in the jeep world this is true too. So I'm almost wondering about a 1.0 degree shim in mine. but I am very happy for now. Just tell RedHead I sent ya, super nice product and great company.

    DO NOT overtorque the steering box bolts !!! I ripped my box out on trail because of it (2001 ujoint 4x4 converted e250). Sheared them thangs right off in the box. not good. 55 ft lbs is less than you think. the bolts need to be able to stretch -- use grade 8!

    Don’t use.a pickle fork to pull a pitman arm, you’ll damage the steering box. Two hammers, hitting the pitman arm on both sides at the same time, 180 degrees apart, also works. But a puller is your best option.
    Also, you should install the power steering reservoir cap on the pump while turning the box with the engine running - otherwise, as you found out, you’ll blow a lot of fluid out the top…

      Aha that's why I was blowing fluid out! Ya no I used the pickle fork on the tire rod end that goes into the pitman arm. I need to find a puller on amazon and link it... thanks!

    New KYG shocks helped my steering wonder a lot but I still have some. One way to tighten that nut for the pitman arm is to bolt your box back onto the frame then torque to spec. Enjoying the content. Do you use the white one as a tow rig for the blue one?

    • @Geeks4x4
      @Geeks4x4  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I might use it as a tow rig someday.. but really want the blue one to be able to be driven to the trail. Ya I wish you could bolt the steering box back and torque the arm. There is a crossmember that goes directly underneath it.... so no rood to get a socket in there, let alone the torque wrench. Thanks for watching!
