For anyone stumbling on this video nowadays. Vipers need to have rake. Meaning the front needs to be lower than the back for proper handling. Most owners agree about 1” of difference between the front and rear as measured from the frame between the center point of the tires is ideal for most situations. Dodge recommends a 1.5” difference for the ACR for instance. Setting your ride height by wheel gap alone will mess up the cars handling compared to one with proper rake.
@@user-cy3tr8eu8t thank you so much for the info. I pinned your comment so hopefully others will see it. Personally my car will never see track time so I’ll sacrifice a little function for the looks but definitely good info for those that want to retain optimal performance. Thanks again!!
Good video. Just a tip, drive the car around a little after each adjustment. The car can settle A LOT when driving. It's hard to settle it in the garage. My Vette went from lowered to SLAMMED after it's first drive and I had to raise it back up.
Makes perfect sense as I’ve actually had to raise the car yet again since this particular video. The rear had started making contact with the fenders again. This was my first set of coilovers so I’m definitely learning a lot as I go. Thank so much for watching! 😎
Thanks for checking out the video. After 150ish miles I think I’m going to have to raise the rear just a touch more even. I hate to do it but the tire is contacting the fender pretty decently on larger bumps.
@@louieluay odd! You went with the swift spring upgrade too? From everything I read those provided the closest ride to stock. I have been nothing but pleased with the way mine ride. I did have the car professionally aligned afterwards too. And just for comparison the car rides like a sports car and not a luxury vehicle. But it’s on par with any other ride quality. Similar to a Corvette, Mustang, etc.
@@ChaosCarClub Thank you for responding , yup I got the swift spring upgrade. It feels like the preload is set too high. Do you know if you had to zero your preload with the swift springs?
@@louieluay preload was the one thing I was very careful about not tampering with as I figured I’d never be able to manage to get it set back correctly. Did you order from BC directly? I would maybe call/email and see if they can provide some baseline settings to potentially help your setup as something definitely sounds off. Not sure where you are located but if you’re anywhere near central NC I’d be happy to compare ride quality with ya

@@ChaosCarClub I feel ya bro. It’ll still look sick. Can’t mess up those Michelins!

I have the exact setup and the car is very ruff on bumps even when I set it to the softest turn. Any feed back on yours?
