I just did this job on my Viper but with Silvers brand coilovers. The rear shocks were easy but the front was torture, esp. removing the old front shocks. Took two afternoons and I was by myself. Was nice to have a 1/4 and 1/2 impact drive for the bolts and screws. Also ratchet combo wrenches.

Standing ovation for pulling this off by yourself. Seriously, that’s impressive. I would likely still be working on the install without the extra set of hands 😂

How do you like the Silvers? I just got an 03 Vert and these stock ones got to go ride is miserable.

My fingers are hurting and I didn't have as nice a garage as this either. Removing the old front shocks was miserable.

Removal was 100% the worst part. Did you have much adjustment to make to dial in the ride height or were the Silvers initial setup pretty spot on? The BCs took several tries to get set my preferred height.

The preload was already set. I set the ride height as high as I could since I have to drive on a long farm lane and the car is too low already to get into the tool shed or the barn. The original rear shocks were clunking over bumps and thats why I installed the SIlvers.

@@kermitmidthun4306 makes sense! Hard to believe these cars are nearly 20 years old at this point so things are starting to show signs of age. Mine were pretty worn too.

I drove on them a little bit today and no more shock rattle noise. Couldn't tell much difference yet as the roads are wet and I only drove a couple of miles. There is enough ground clearance to get out of the farm lane without scraping the bottom.

@@kermitmidthun4306 call that a success! Do you have any added splitters or aero pieces to have to worry about scrubbing or scraping?

Good job. Getting ready to do mine on 2003. Thinking of also going with the same coil overs. What is your impression of them now that you’ve had some drive time?

Thanks for checking out the video. Unfortunately I haven’t had too much actual road time with them as the tires on the car were so old that I was scared to get too crazy. I was waiting to get new ones before cutting the car loose. So I’m actually getting the ride height sorted out this weekend and then going to get an alignment so then I will be in business.

Car has been riding great on the Silver’s. I didn’t lower it since I live in the country on a long farm lane.

What did you end up adjusting your ride height and dampening to? Are you still currently running this setup? How is handling compared to stock?

Thanks for checking out the video. I have dampening set to the middle still (15 clicks) and I did end up adjusting the ride height. I had to raise the settings some to prevent rubbing in the rear. Height isn't necessarily a one size fits all. So you will have to play with that to determine your liking. I love this set up though. 15 year old suspension just wasn't what it used to be. So this is miles better.

I got a stock clutch and pressure plate from rockauto for $115. It is a heavy piece and I am not going racing.

Thats an awesome price. Will definitely have to keep that in mind when the time comes for mine needing replaced. My car will likely never see any real track time either. Charity laps here or there would be the extent.
