A really great book about dating with purpose is Holding Hands, Holding Hearts. We also talk about dating boundaries and our experiences with this in our videos, as we made the decision to wait until marriage.

I really love this. I am for sure feeling the struggles of engagement and I've been so hard on myself and my fiancé thinking that engagement is supposed to be this fairytale. Can totally relate to "feeling like you married but not exeriencing the fruits of marriage."
We may have to be engaged longer than thought (circumstances related to covid) and it's really taxing.
Same here. My fiancé has been married before and this is my first time being engaged. It’s definitely not what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be blissful and exciting and it’s just been really hard and we’re definitely going through our rough patches.

Engagement sucks. We've been to pre-marital counselling, we've got everyone's blessing, we know we are committed and ready, we're just waiting on a calender date when people can meet.

I'm engaged at the moment and have been for 3 months, and still have 6 months to go. Engagement is such a tease :( like you're committed to being committed to each other and are constantly talking about the wedding and marriage, but don't get the "benefits", as you said hahaha

Can You explain to me where the wedding took place? I mean it was outside near some lake and I wonder what one needs to do to prepare for a wedding in a place like this. Was it a public place or some private place? I'm not from America but from Europe and I come from a catholic church so I don't understand how it all works.
I would love s video on how you guys handle confrontation! I struggle with this area of my life big time. I really hate confrontation and try to avoid it as much as possible and am a big people pleaser. So I guess just how do I break out of my shell and have a healthy confrontational approach versus hiding or attacking.

How long was your engagement again???
Hey there! New subscriber here! I cannot tell you how much I have been able to relate to you guys in this series. My fiancé and I have been engaged since June of this year. We were 3 hours away from each other since we met in October of last year, until I moved close to him in August. Funny story about us: we also had a serious conversation after I got very overwhelmed with planning our wedding. We decided we wanted to elope with a very small group of family members. Basically, God said, "No." He was so loud, we could not disobey, even if we wanted to. The week we were supposed to get married, I got COVID and he did shortly after me. However, God showed me just the kind of husband my fiancé would be. Through the sickest part of my life, he cared for me like I had never been cared for. Following being sick, I still chose to move into "our" condo closer to him, while he continued to rent from a friend. Then, he endured a very low mental health point I was experiencing from moving to a new place, being sick, lack of social interaction outside of he and I, not working for a month, etc. He went down into yet another valley with me and we have only come out of it with more of a solid foundation. God is amazing with His timing, truly. We returned to our original plan to have a real wedding in January of next year where we can have a big celebration with family and friends. Although, we are also planning to have a legal marriage for tax purposes in December. Great minds think alike. I say all this to tell you guys thank you for sharing your story with the world. I look forward to watching more of your content. Bless you and your marriage from this girl in Florida.

I consider that God blessing is required fot two people so they can consider themselves married. Can two christian people live toghether just after signing the docs but before reciving God blessing on christian wedding ceremony?

I wished that my late older brother would've been more ready/mature enough before he married. The only great thing about his 2 marriages (yes, 2 marriages) was his 3 children. Even my father wished he had been more prepared before he married my mother.
He died young, right? I think we are never prepared to fully love and understand someone, I was never married, but I think we try our best... We learn even to love and understand ourselves... after a long time...
@@myramaria507 My brother was 35 when he died. I don't think he was fully committed to being married at all. But, at least he had 3 children (2 daughters and a son) that are healthy and functioning as wonderful people.
