Finally someone who says it's a bad idea to go on trips/vacations when you aren't married. It's common sense. Also, the majority of marriage stories online are Christian couples. Christian values lead to marriage.
I gotta disagree respectfully. What happens when You get married, you take a trip with someone and get to know a side of them you didn’t see before? Then you realize you are crossing each other’s boundaries, and dealing with innate temperaments that weren’t there before marriage?
It is possible divorce will be right around the corner because you two realize you can’t deal with each other.
Better do things together now and learn each other, and make sure you know two how to solve those hidden issues now, than later in marriage

@@coreygeiger81 I disagree with you, respectfully. James 1:14 says, "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed". Trips/vacations are a setup and give leeway to the enemy. Why put yourself in a predicament where there's no accountability and a high-class level of becoming emotionally attached to someone that you might not end up with. There are different ways to experience a person's temperament outside of trips/vacations together. The Christian divorce rate has nothing to do with not taking trips/vacationing prior lol. Do people think marriage begins with knowing someone completely? Divorce rates are high because of false expectations, lack of God being at the front and center, and lack of communication. Christians are sold fairytales and when things don't go down that path they leave, also cheating, abuse, different expectations that should've been discussed prior... also forgetting that marriage is two unique people, who were raised different, now living under one roof. Adjusting to such takes time and commitment many don't want. They want the other person to read their mind. PEOPLE CAN'T READ MINDS. Or we want the other person to adjust to us when it should go both ways and involve a lot of learning and unlearning on both parts. Marriage involves dying to oneself. Many of us Christians don't even follow the Bible's advice on how to fulfill our various gender roles in our marriage, then get angry. There are so many reasons, but not going on trips/vacationing prior to marriage is the least of a divorced couple's problem.

I also never stated that marriage begins with knowing someone completely. It's about knowing someone enough to know that you can tolerate their flaws and innate temperaments. I will agree with you on that point that two unique people who were raised differently are coming together and adjusting takes time and commitment. I also agree adjusting should go both ways and does involve learning and unlearning. My difference of opinion came from the fact that the couple agrees to nixing the thought of vacationing/traveling/road tripping, etc. outside of wedlock, when that's a big opportunity to learn who a person is.
@@coreygeiger81 I apologize for my assumptions. So, how does one avoid temptation in such situations as vacationing/traveling/road tripping, where it's just you and that person? Being on a date alone is tempting when you're emotionally attached to a person. Also, is vacationing/traveling/road tripping the only way to learn who a person is? Can't people be honest about their faults and weaknesses as mentioned in a future video of this couple.

The things I have to note is never make assumptions and don’t judge people by their looks. It can take awhile for people to discover who their friends are and it can be worth it. There’s the old saying the road to true love never doth run smooth. Learning to take life as it is and not how we would it like to be is key to being happy and fulfilled. Life isn’t all roses but other people’s stories can give us the confidence to travel on the path God intends for us to travel upon in this life.
I’m 4 years late to this video, but this has given me a lot of hope. Thanks for sharing, y’all

My husband and I grew up 5 mins away from each other our whole lives and actually had mutual friends. We also used to go to the same hangouts as children and I guarantee we ran into each other a lot. Plus I found out my father-in-love filmed me singing with my choir at the same time he went to see his son play Santa at a mall. I felt that exact same way. Like I said before in the last video I had to be content being single and there was a song I heard when I was friends with my husband and I cried uncontrollably it was “When God Made You” by Newsong. It was shortly after that song I heard the song by Sandi Patti called “ I’m Yours” I knew when I heard that song I wasn’t ready to lose what I had with God. I felt like I could or would lose myself in him like I had with other relationships so I didn’t want to get into one with him because of that. Fast forward my husband and my song now is “When God Made You” and everytime I hear that song I cry because I remember that trying time in our relationship as “friends” I also had realized I had fallen in love with Andrew my husband and I didn’t think it was fair to God so I had to constantly break up with Andrew. When Andrew finally asked me to be his girlfriend after I took him out of the friend zone I told him I would not date him but I would wanna recorded by him but he would I need to ask my dad permission support me and that’s when he said I was already planning on it and will soon as we left his apartment that night we were driving to my parents house so he could ask him and he did and he did get permission from my dad.

Friend zoned several times? Really? Once is enough to get the message! What about self esteem and partner consideration? Who wants a relationship one have to beg for? Love is supposed to be a gift and relationship is NOT a reward for obstinacy. Not interested? ok fine, box ticked. ...next. I had a bunch of girls telling me: "why didn't you chase me?" answer: "because you told me you were NOT interested!" period. I'm neither a "chaser" nor a gambler! That’s the beauty in the work of God man. When He speaks to you, there is nothing that can steer you away from it. It’s like a tiny whisper that you try ignore which suddenly becomes a part of your conscious mind till you act on it.
I totally understand what you’re saying and I can agree to a certain extent but He just works in some spaces of your life and *literally* turns the unthinkable into the happening.

Man after hearing this story I’m surprised you guys are together. And I cringe a bit to say it because you guy seem grate together but it sounds like she took you for granted. The effort to make the relationship was entirely your doing. How many men would put up with so much? I wonder if I could?
I see where you're coming from but when someone is not emotionally ready for a relationship it's not that she was taking him for granted but a relationship is a lot to take on when you're already going through a lot.
