Great video I watched it to do mine ,2015 5 speed . Can I ask advice ? I've reaplced ut as I had a weird sound when I'm going slow I can hear when I dip cluch I get a rumble noise thought duall mass ,it's still doing it ? Any odea please 50k miles ,wheel bearings ? Gearbox thank you graham
If the sound changes when you steer left and right it will be a wheel bearing, jack the front up and spin a wheel by hand and put your hand on the track rod end, any rough feeling it’s that side
@@Scotty66 cheers did you have to drain the gearbox oil and also how to the shafts come out had a bit of a nighmare today taken all day gkt box separated at botom but cant seem to get shafts out Top starter bolt was a nightmare to get to but was in doing in the pit and pit is overy deep and was ballancing on a box to get the hight also the bracket fot gear cabels was a nightmare to remove but got there in the end any tips/tricks be much Appreciated Cheers bud
Great video. This job would be difficult then without a lift? i have groan/whine noise goin through the gears around 2000rpm. More prominant in 1st/2nd/3rd. No sound when not in gear. Is is a bearing starting to go inside the gearbox? cheers j
It’s possible without a lift, but hard on your body. I’ve done it on axel stands outside 👍 Just make sure you get it up high enough. I had two wheels stacked on top of each other, flat on the ground next to the axel stands in the front for redundancy/extra safety. And back of the vehicle on small ramps.
Scotty lad. Crackin video. A question regarding the oil leak on this van, did you find the source? Doing me gearbox and have the exact same oil residue!! Haha! Thought you may know where to start looking. Cheers.
So you don't need to remove anything more than the wheels, subframe, mounts, and driveshafts, really? Noting from the engine bay to get access down? to the connnectors or wires?
You just saved me so much fucking time for my tomorow job mate exellent video and amazing explanation thank you so much mate

Give it a clean and check for leaks when it’s running
how long did this take you mate?
It’s about a 5 hour job
Just to get out? Or in & out
Full job

@@AhrnNilsson yep, you can get everything from underneath once the subframe is out
At least ye don’t need to drain the gear oil on these
