When gluing many small pieces like that, try using painters tape on one side then fold back and put the glue in from the other side. It will also hold them from sliding when you clamp. Nice project too.

put packing tape on your pine clamping boards and you'll avoid the glue headache as well

Love the design. One thing I use for design in the dollar store or Walmart and find one with a great design then refine it to more my liking.

Beautiful work!!! I think you would have fun using a cabinet scraper and it would save you a TON of sanding time. Plus, you would enjoy the intimacy of shaping the wood I think.

I thought about this too, but let’s say you’re cooking a stew with this. Will the glue joints fail? And making the stew inedible bec of the glue? Just curious! I figure for tossing stir frying it’ll be okay but if it’s submerged in boiling liquid might not be okay?

I have been using wooden utensils my entire life. Some are pieces glued together and others appear to be one solid piece. I use TiteBondIII wood glue, which is safe to use on cutting boards and utensils along with being water proof. Just use some common sense and the utensils will last. Just don't leave them soaking in water for extended period of times.🍻

Great video! Could you share your tips on tuning the planer to avoid snipe on short boards, as in 4:02? Thanks!

I feel ya! That’s an older video. We get better over time :) plus YT hit me with an audio copyright and had to dub the music so it’s basically all messed up now 🤦🏼‍♂️ even worse for headphones and like you said aides. I’m more aware now and always working on better content this year! Appreciate you.

I usually use spatulas in pans. So if it gets hot, wouldn't it be bad to have a glued spatula?

I think you did it the hard way by not cutting the cove with the bandsaw while you still had a flat edge

Great projects. You inspire me to add some of these types of spatulas to my project list. Please cut the music. Trying to listen while you are talking over the top of it is most distracting.

They are beautiful but really you should use Danish oil and not mineral oil.

Danish oil is food safe, unlike BLO. That said my favorite is beeswax and mineral oil.
