it really isn't black, it is as "blue" as Superman costume is in an actual comics, just take a look how "blue" of his costume relates to the "blue" of his *black* hair (in classic comics ie 1938-1986 for examples Worlds Finest 261 or Batman 259 Batman and Shadow crossover, ESPECIALLY 1938-1942 ones like Action Comics 1, Action Comics 23 for Superman and Worlds Finest 27 for Batman ) and how it relates to Batman's costume and how Both of their "blue" relate to the "blue" of a handgun metal parts.
