I just see no way that I would want to buy this after having Castles and the xpac. The fact that the rooms are all squares removes my favorite aspect of the builder and what made it such a unique experience compared to, say, suburbia, which everyone - regardless of gaming experience - could get into. Especially people hesitant to get into medium or heavy games, Castles had such an easy-to-sell appeal.
Paulo Renato the Klingon channel is always default when I open up his videos so when I didn't see anything I I thought that maybe it was a mistake that wasn't pointed out.
I think what Richard was saying is that you get 10 points for the first column, then you get 20 for the second and so on... so he wasn't saying you get 20 points total, he was just listing the points by column and not the total
are grey swans different than white swans? they look the same in the video, but they had two definitions: the "white" swan is wild and matches anything, but the "grey" swan lets you take a swan of any colour? if they're different, i hope it's actually noticeable in person.
every swan in the game is white, it's what their background color is that defines them. grey swans rewards aren't wild cards, they're "pick whichever color you like", because there are no actual grey swan tokens :)
i worded my query wrong, and misheard you calling a grey swan white, so that's my bad. your description of the function of grey swans is what confused me., but i looked up the rules in the interim. so, to clarify my original issue: in one instance, when Jen placed the entertainment room and matched a grey entrance with a purple entrance, you said the grey was wild and so it counts as purple, so she gets a purple swan. but then you placed the baconry, and explained that its grey entrance meant that you could take any colour swan of your choosing, as though that grey entrance was functionally different from the one on the entertainment room, which is where my confusion arose. i see now that you meant that if you paired up two grey (wild) entrances, you get to take any colour of your choosing, because there isn't another colour to pair with. i thought you meant that regardless of what colour entrance ended up next to the baconry, you could take any colour swan you like. side note: i also like that if you match an entrance with another player's room, you both get a swan. this game seems to have a lot of "you can do this for your own gains, but you'll be giving another player a boost, too" strategic decisions. as always, thanks for replying :)
Radho, I suggest you upload your final conclusion video a bit later then the run throughs. Now i dont get 2 of the 3 videos in my Subscription feed and even not in my notifications !!
you don't get those notices because i turn them off on purpose to minimize spam in people's feeds and inbox. since the link for all the videos is in the show notes of the main video, only the main video gets 'annouced' :)
since i'm trying to demonstrate what the game feels like to play, and since the decisions one makes during setup majorly impact the overall flow and trajectory of the game, it's not something i can skip if i'm to achieve my goal of capturing the full experience of the gameplay. YMMV, and as such, my channel might not be for you.

At 42:50, when Richard completed Jen's room, does a moat get added? If so, who adds it?
i don't remember what happened, but the moat is added by whoever's turn it is :)
Don't k ow if anyone else ask/point out this, but when you added the Baconry at around 19minutes, shouldn't you have gained a yellow swan?
It was already noted... Like Rahdo says at the start of the video, please turn on the Klingon subtitles to see where Richard goofs up… Thanks :)

what's stopping everyone from ONLY building stairs at the beginning over and over till all the available slots are just stairs?
i guess you could do that, but if you're doing that and i'm playing 'normally' then i'm going to win since i'm getting more points than you...
what happens if there is no legal move available? i.e. none of the current tiles on the board match what's on the field?
On the last turn, when Rahdo played a tile that finished Jen's room, which player would have gotten to place the moat tile?
i don't remember what was happening in the vid, but in general, when moats come out, the player whose turn it is get to choose where they go
At 18:39 shouldn´t you have gotten an infamous yellow swan?

Sure Paulo. I thought my Klingon was on... :)
at 33:15 is it 30 points? not 20?

30:47 You never took your grey swan bonus when matching the downstairs room
noted... thanks
This is just madness.
Long live the king !
wouldn't it be better for Jen to take a blue swan? for the public competition? :) (instead of purple)
26:47 Isn't that 3 red swans, actually?
no... it's 2 red swans

You spend the first 10 min talking about cards and bonuses we dont really know about yet.... just get on with it
